The Adventures of Miss Potts - PTR Fall 2013 UPDATE 9/25!!

I think I've said it before but planning the Disney trip is almost as fun as the trip itself! I love the preparation and the anticipation of all to come!

I can't believe our trip is only 78 days away!

In preparation of the trip, I’ve already bought a few things:

New Sneakers:
I've been wearing them around to break them in - I love them already and know they will be perfect for our Disney days!

Water Bottle:
I got a collapsible water bottle.. you know the kind that can roll up when not being used... has anyone used these before? I thought it might be handy to keep with us when in the parks. I drink a lot of water but hate carrying an empty water bottle to refill, because I refuse to buy multiple bottles a day at the parks and usually the water fountains aren't that awful.

Thank to disboards though, I've learned about getting ice water at any of the quick service locations. I never knew this!! I love simple tips like this!

Clothes:
Thanks to the Eddie Bauer semi annual sale... DH loaded up on 3 pairs of shorts, 4 t-shirts, and a couple golf shirts. This is mainly for summer but he'll also wear all these items in Disney. EB is the best store for DH and we really make out well with their sales.

No clothes for me yet!

Reading Material
I got a Kingdom Keepers book... I know it is for younger kids but I thought it'd be a fun read for by the pool to get me through the summer until our trip! I haven't started it yet though...

Not a trip purchase but recently, DH and I went to see Monsters University! DH plays in a men's softball league and it was rained out... we had an impromptu date night!

I bought these at Wal-Mart for movie snacks but forgot to bring them since our movie night was so last minute.

I loved the movie!! DH said he liked Monsters, Inc better but he still liked it! We both cannot wait until Planes comes out!

I wasn't a huge fan of Monsters University. I took my oldest and it was just okay.... :( I was all excited too.

Love the shoes... I bought some new Under Armour shoes back in April to have new shoes and to wear on our trip but they kind of rub the back of my feet. That might be a bad idea. Better stick with my rainbows. :)

I love that hidden Mickey book! It's so much fun and definitely a great way to pass the time in line for rides or waiting for/on a bus!

If your shoes rub now... I'd never wear them in Disney! I'm always paranoid of getting blisters... I never want to be uncomfortable during precious Disney time!

I hope we get a lot of use out of it! I'm even in the process of figuring out a different bag so that I can easily carry it with me in the parks.

Well let me rephrase that... we hope we won't have to use it in long lines or waiting for buses but in the event that we do have to wait, I hope we'll have fun with it! :)

I blame Epcot for my desire to never leave America. Why spend the time and money to travel around the world, when I can go to Epcot and see all the countries in a matter of minutes!

DH and I love Epcot now because it is home to our favorite special event: Food and Wine Festival.

However, Epcot was once home to a family favorite for my family!
The Mickey & Friends show in the Odyssey Restaurant!
Don’t remember it??!?! Here is a video I found on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMb7Rr8jxxw

My parents are seriously the best! They would plan our day accordingly, so we’d be there for the first lunch seating at a table right in the front row! And no, this didn’t just happen once a trip… it probably happened quiet a few times! We still sing the song occasionally… what can I say, we are a family of Disney nerds!

Anyways, back to the PTR.

EPCOT MUST DO'S

New Things To See/Eat
We are fortunate to have seen most Epcot things. So this is mostly food.
American Dream Drink
Fish & Chips in UK
Teppan Edo – Anniversary Dinner!
Karamell Kuche
Club Cool - DH has never been!
M&G with Duffy
Character Spot – we’ve never gone in, I am a Disney Visa cardholder, so it’s time to take advantage of the perk!
Captain EO
Via Napoli
Food & Wine Booths – this is a combo of can’t miss favorites and new things to see/eat

Can’t Miss Favorites!
Soarin
Spaceship Earth
Test Track
The Seas with Nemo
Illuminations

Old Favorites We Haven’t Seen In Awhile
Living with the Land
Ellen’s Energy Adventures

Characters
It’s inevitable that we’ll meet up with Mary Poppins in the UK.
I’d like to see Belle in France… I don’t have an adult photo with her in her blue dress!
And, as I said above, we’ll stop by Character Spot for some classic photos!
Also, I want to meet Duffy. Duffy is so darn cute!

Next up, MGM… oh excuse me... Hollywood Studios Must Do’s!

I am beyond excited because there are only 64 days left until our trip!

Recently I saw the photo I used in my countdown on the Disney Parks blog! What a gorgeous photo of the castle! I wish I took it!!

Today is my day off, so I've been pulling together some details for our trip!

I booked our Spa treatments at Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort!! We are both having 80 minute Swedish massages! Yay! I'm so excited!

How cute is this ad I saw on Pinterest from Senses?!?!

The other day, during the Disney Store 25% sale.. I ordered two shirts for myself!! Can't wait til they arrive!

I also got DH a t-shirt from Target last week. It was on sale for $8! What a deal!

Looking forward to following along with TigrLvsPooh's LIVE Trip Report from the Polynesian coming up later this week... I think it's going to make me even more excited for my trip!!! Here's a link to her TR: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3145622

Love your shirts!!

I just ordered two of of Hot Topic. Com and only paid $15.00 each for them.

Trip is getting closer!!

Hi Amy!! I've read your entire PTR and I have to say that in addition to you and your hubby being an ADORABLE couple we have a few favorites in common! BLT and Beauty & the Beast movie. Oh, and another similarity... I've never tried school bread either. I mean to but just never get around to it!!

I love the things on your "new things to do at Epcot list"... since your hubby hasn't been to Club Cool I'm sure you would never give him the Beverly treatment!

Love your tee's selections. :)

I'm looking forward to sharing your excitement of your PTR countdown. :upsidedow

I can't believe the trip is almost here!

Thanks for reading!! Happy to have you following along.. I've loved your TR!!

I love all our similarities!! :cheer2:
You'll just have to read the TR to see how the trip to Club Cool goes! I have a feeling you already know me! ;)

Please tell me you'll drink a grey goose Slushie in France at Epcot for me! :flower3:

I have had such a great day... it's my day off and while I have a lot to do (laundry... bleh), I decided to watch all the Disney specials that I dvr'd last week on Destination America. DH didn’t mind watching them once, but he thinks it is ridiculous that I like to watch them over and over. So it was a nice little thing to do on my day off alone!

Yesterday was actually DH's birthday... we went to a Blake Shelton concert! It was fantastic!!

Ok on to the next park....

MGM... oh excuse me... Hollywood Studios MUST DO'S

I faithfully refer to Disney's Hollywood Studios as MGM. I really don't care that the named changed... it's MGM to me!

DH is proud that this is the ONE thing he gets right about Disney that I don't! He takes great pride in correcting me whenever I refer to the park incorrectly.

We never spend a full day in this park, but tend to pop in a few times throughout our vacations. I just love the Tower of Terror and like to get in as many rides as possible!

(my sister, dad, and I)

New Things To See/Eat
American Idol (the finale show) - I saw the show for the first time on our last trip. I REALLY want to watch the finale!
The Magic of Disney Animation - we want to do an animation class! I never even knew they did that until the disboards!
Rope Drop - the opportunity of being let in early, exciting!
Red Velvet Cupcake from Starring Rolls - how have I not had this yet?!?!?!
Carrot Cake Cookie

Can't Miss Favorites!
Tower of Terror - of course!
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Beauty and the Beast Show
Toy Story Midway Mania
Muppet Vision
One Man's Dream
The Great Movie Ride

(mom and I in February)

Old Favorites We Haven't Seen In Awhile

Fantasmic - we didn't watch it on our last 2 trips
Backlot Tour - haven't been on it for YEARS AND YEAR... time for a little revisit, however it used to be much better when you went by all the houses!
Sci Fi - maybe we'll have a meal here?! We'll see! DH wants to try it!!

Characters
Wreck It Ralph... Just watched the movie a few weeks ago! Love them!
Mike and Sulley... never gone to this Meet and Greet

(Me with the original Mrs. Potts!)

Next up, Animal Kingdom Must Do’s!

I love knowing I'm not the only one!

Great update! :)

Thanks!

I'm trying to decide which I'll make breakfast and which will be lunch! It's vacation right?!?!

DHS will always be MGM to me!!

What is DHS?!?! hehehe :)

Hi Amy! The first time we went to DHS it was MGM so that name has stuck in my mind as well. At least you have must eat snack (carrot cake cookie) on your list as well as the only ride that I will wait longer than 45 minutes to ride (ToT).

I have had the red velvet cupcake and it was pretty darn tasty! :goodvibes

I just noticed that I said I liked your tees from your earlier post... I actually bought the black Minnie tee from the Disney store right before we left. :goodvibes

Your trip is getting so close.... exciting stuff!! :yay:
