I read a little about the Adventurers Club in Kevin Stringer's trip reports, it sounds like a good night out - I fancy a spot of mask tickling myself!! Just a few questions - is it in Pleasure Island? Are children allowed in (DS13, DD16)? Is there an entry charge? Is there a best night to visit?

Thanks.

Hi there

We went to the Adventures Club this time and had a brilliant time. You have to purchase tickets at the gate for entrace to either one club or all the clubs, I have a feeling the price is about $10.99 for 1 club if this is the only one you fancy.

Children are allowed in, my daughter who is 16 was with us, and I did see children in there younger than that, although how much of it she and they really understood I dont know but she seemed to enjoy it.

It is really good fun, you keep moving into different rooms for little skits and there is loads of interaction between cast members and the public.

The cocktails both alcholic and non alcholic were reasonably priced at about $4 and were fantastic. :thumbsup2

I think its well worth a visit even if its just the once to see if its your cup of tea. We loved it. :cheer2:

Have fun and Kungaloosh!! When you go to will get to know what that means :thumbsup2

Yes, yes, and yes. A one night ticket to the Pleasure Island clubs (this includes all clubs at PI) costs $23.38. While there is a one-club ticket available for $11.66, it is not valid at the Adventurers Club or the Comedy Warehouse.

Don't know what you'd consider the best night to visit. Are you looking for crowds or no crowds? It's more crowded on Fridays and Saturdays.

I had a really good time here a couple of years ago. Everey performance is different but so funny, the performers are very quick-witted. Don't be deceived when you walk in the door as it just looks like a bar and a few rooms, you have to wait around to be shown in for the show, I highly recommend it :thumbsup2

If you squeeze it into your holiday it is certainly worth a visit :thumbsup2

As said definately worth a look in. The last show however (which is around 11.30 or 12) is adult only so be sure to miss that one (when I went last May someone did take their children to the show even though they were told at the door that it was the adult only show and when they were in there had to cover their children's ears because they were getting so embarressed at what was being said). All shows before this however are fine for your kids ages. There are a few adult jokes but its mainly inuendo and its always a good laugh.

Many thanks for all your replies. It certainly sounds like a fun night out, we will definitely make time for a visit.

Thanks.

Is the 'audience participation' there for those who want it, or is everyone likely to get involved whether they want to or not? :bitelip:

I think Hilary it depends where your sitting and what area of the room the "actors" walk to. We were sat right at the back of one room thinking we were safe and some of the cast came in the back way and one of the chaps (a scottish fella) picked on me, but it was nothing terrible and really funny. When they are on stage they do of course go for people sitting nearer to them, but I think its just pot luck. Well worth a visit though. :thumbsup2

Allearsnet gives the best information on this club- See: http://allearsnet.com/btp/faq_adv.htm

My teens were 17 & 19 when we went and they loved it. They went twice - once with their aunt and had so much fun that they insisted I go with them. They said that the Saturday night performance was more fun. They also said that the patrons seemed to drink more heavily. We had a great time on a Wednesday night. The humor gets a bit more "adult" in nature as the evening progresses. I thought it was great fun and am insisting that our friends go on our upcoming trip.
