Hey everyone. Planning a trip for my BF and I in April, and I need some help picking which reservations to go with. This is the first time I'll be at WDW as an adult (it's my 30th birthday!!:wizard:), so any advice is good advice! unlike some regulars, I don't have the parade/fireworks etc schedule memorized so I could be making some silly mistakes regarding locations/good views...

Thursday:
Flying in around 5pm, staying at Pop! Have to go to ESPN/Expo to get our race bibs if we can make it there on time.

Tuesday:

We fly out Tuesday evening, but would like recommendations for breakfast and/or lunch!

Sanna, Marrakesh, (Can't vouch for this one since I haven't tried any), BOG lunch for SURE!, LTT.. unless you're feeling a character meal. food would be about the same, just a bit better at LTT. Breakfast.. anything w/ characters to leave you with the disney magic. probably Ohana would do the trick.

Sanaa for sure. The next one is a hard one. And this is only my family's opinion but we didn't like either meal we had at Marrakesh or Coral Reef. We were really bummed about Marrakesh because we all like middle eastern food. I haven't had any of the Sunday options either. But if it was me, probably Portobello. BOG lunch! Liberty Tree Tavern.

I really like Boma breakfast or Boma lunch would be good. Otherwise, it's nothing fancy but if you wanted to get some last minute shopping in, go to Disney Springs and have lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwich, both are good!

I haven't been to Sanaa, but I HAVE been to Cape May and I wasn't impressed, so I'd go with Sanaa ... definitely BOG lunch over breakfast (unless it was for pre-park opening, then I'd consider it) ... and I'd choose LTT over CP, although I havne't been to either yet (got LTT rez for upcoming trip)

1) Cape May IF you like crab legs. If you aren't going for crab, go to Sanaa.
2) Coral Reef, but I am biased as I don't like Marakesh's menu.
3) BOG lunch, I like lunch more than breakfast or dinner there.
4) THE BOATHOUSE. This shouldn't even be a question. If you want a better time, look on opentable.
5) I'd go crystal palace for the characters. If you aren't into Pooh/characters though, do Liberty Tree. You're paying for the characters.
An easy breakfast if you can get over there is the poly's counter service location, Captain Cooks. Tonga toast is to die for. You can also get it at Kona if you prefer a sit-down.

  • Thu: Sanaa for sure :)
  • Fri: We haven't enjoyed our meals at either of these restaurants :(
  • Sun: Boathouse for sure
  • Mon breakfast/lunch: I'd do lunch at BOG over breakfast
  • Mon dinner: We'd do LTT -- for sure -- every time (we like CP for breakfast, though) :)
  • Tue: If in a park, we like breakfast at Crystal Palace and Tusker House

About how tired we are after runs... I've done (I think it is) 4 half's at Disney... We find that we're pretty energized after runs and are ready to head to the parks after a shower!! I will say that when my training has not been as solid as it should be, I've started to run out of steam around 10pm on race day... normally not the case!

Have a great b-day trip, and we might see you around... we'll be in WDW Apr 14-18, running the 5K, 10K and Half!! :)

Thurs : Another vote for Sanaa!

Friday : Really depends on what you like for food Marrakesh had a lot of different dishes, Coral Reef to me was a pretty stand fish place.

Saturday:

Bubba Gumps is great!

Sunday:
Another vote for BOATHOUSE

Monday:

I have never done breakfast so can't really weigh in nor have i gone ot LTT or CRYSTAL palace.

For Universal, I've heard very good things about Cowfish or try the HP restaurants :)

Check out Kona for breakfast on your last day...its in the polynesian hotel...amazing tonga toast among other dishes. Def BOG lunch over breakfast. Ive never tried liberty tree tavern but BOG dinner is also really good. At epcot we are fans of Le Cellier. Saana is delicious...def get the bread service!
