Day 7– Thurs. Sept. 18

Today we did Sea World. I will again try to keep it short for those that are not interested. We got there just before opening and made our way in and spent a little while admiring the dolphins. They were really showing off and made quite a splash with Jared. We went to the stingray area and checked them out for a while. Jared was fascinated with looking at them but he wanted no part of touching or feeding them. We decided to do the Key West dolphin show first and got excellent seats about ½ hour before the start of the show. Before the start of the show Jared decided that he wanted to sit in the splash zone. Even though we advised against it he was insistent. Well of course when the first splash came he was done! LOL He hightailed it back up to Mom where I was safe with the camera. Next we headed to the Shamu show where he managed to talk me into buying him a stuffed whale to join his stuffed dolphin that I bought him the day before. Now I have seen this show many times in my life at both Sea World Orlando and Sea World Ohio but I was disappointed this time. It just didn’t have the excitement and emotional feeling that I had experienced in the past.:( Jared enjoyed it though. We then headed over to Shamu’s Happy Harbor area for him to play. We came prepared with swimsuit and towel and he LOVED this. There are lots of great areas for kids of many ages to do. We basically had to drag him out at lunchtime. We ate at the Smoky Creek Grill. This was a really great meal although I thought it a bit overpriced. Fred and I had ribs again. Now if you’re wondering if we have some kind of a rib fetish let me explain. You just can’t get great ribs in Pittsburgh like you can in Fl. There is lots of great food here but unfortunately ribs are usually not among it. We really love them and typically when in Fl we really try to get our fix!:teeth: LOL. We went to see the Clyde and Seamore show. Got there early and had good seats and enjoyed the pre show mime. Jared was a little confused by this guy…. he couldn’t understand why it was ok for him to be making fun of people. This is a don’t miss show and we all loved it. We went for a closer view of the Sea Lions and then we were going to check out the Penguins when DH made the announcement. He was hot, exhausted, and pretty much worn out and he wanted to leave! He had hit the proverbial wall! Neither one of us had really slept very well all week so it was catching up. After a little discussion he headed for the car while Jared and I checked out the Penguins. I of course felt bad for DH and persuaded Jared that it was time to go. We both reluctantly left without doing many of the things here we wanted to. I must go back!!

Jared fell asleep in the car on the way back to the lodge and when we returned Nemo and DS’s Thumper from home were again watching Toon Disney. Jared did not wake up at all from car to room so I laid him down to sleep longer and DH laid down and promptly fell asleep and stayed that way for 3 ½ hours!!! :eek:I took this unplanned quiet time and went down to the lobby with a magazine and a Mickey Ice Cream bar from RF to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the lodge. I really love it there. I tried to wake him to get some dinner and he basically was out of it. LOL Jared and I went down to the lounge and enjoyed some yummy crust less PB and J’s. Where I decided it would be a good time to start preparing him for the impending end of the trip. He was not a happy boy. When I told him that we only had one more full day before going home he quite seriously and firmly stated that I was wrong and we were not going home! LOL When I explained about pre-school, work, can’t live here forever, etc. He just burst into tears. He wasn’t ready to go home! I felt so bad! I got him calmed down and we headed down to the caricature artist to have his picture done. His name was Marco and he did a wonderful likeness of Jared as a cowboy. Jared loved it and I really had a nice conversation with Marco about art. We headed to the pool for a swim. We had a very nice swim just him and me before DH eventually showed himself at the pool. He of course was starving and we decided to order a pizza. We ordered from a place that had been recommended by a DIS member (sorry I can’t remember who) called. …Well shoot now the name escapes me. I’m sorry. Giordanos maybe??? Anyway it was a stuffed pizza, cost a fortune, took forever to arrive. DH liked it, I thought it was just ok, but I am a very picky pizza eater so don’t go off what I say. We relaxed for a bit and then went to sleep. I was really starting to dread the end of our trip. :(

Coming up….MK, the princess hunt is successful and well….now it’s my turn!

I was hoping to go to Sea World this trip, but DH says no. We only live about 6 hours away, so he says we will make another short trip to do this soon. I think our DS will have a great time. I am glad to hear you had such a good time, but I am sorry your husband had such a hard day. I can certainly sympathize!!

Sorry. There's only one place in the world to get good Pizza and it's right here in NJ. :)

I can't stand pizza anywhere else. Now THAT's picky.

Fred, I had no idea that NJ was known for great pizza, maybe someday I will get to go there and try some out. I'll be sure to hit you up for recommendations!

Well another great report. As far as offending us DISers here in Florida about mentioning SW, it won't happen. It is my favorite park and the same for many of my friends. My 2 DGK from NC will opt for US/IOA as they are 10,11 and like the thrill rides.

They were raised on Disney, and will still do that, but if it is their call.

Sorry. There's only one place in the world to get good Pizza and it's right here in NJ.

Yes Fred, You are right! Also NJ is good for Bon Jovi Sightings too!

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Well you've convinced me.....I'm moving to NJ....Pizza and Jon Bon Jovi....what more could a girl want??? LOL
