The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

I don't see why not. I booked my ressie for October 2016 back in July! :thumbsup2

Yay! I love this! This was my pick for my upcoming December trip! :goodvibes

Yay! I love this even more! I stayed here in 2006, and it was INCREDIBLE. :lovestruc

That's the right attitude. :rotfl:

I actually did contact a TA that I've been friends with for years through the DIS. I've already gotten some

Thanks! I did. Went to my daughter's to spend the night and watched the TV series we're trying to catch up on. We made dinner and just spent some time together. :)

That sounds like a great tour.......need to put that one on the list............ ::yes::

Well, it's not THAT far away from you! Make a long weekend of it!

So you're saying they might have not wanted anyone using a camera?? :confused3

I think that's what they may have been saying.

Stood on a ladder did ya???? :rolleyes1

Aren't we the funny comedian.

Suck it up, buttercup!!! You been waiting to do this HOW long??? ;)

WAY too long. I think I may take my Mickey Head wishes to work tomorrow to hang on my med cart. Just as a reminder, ya know.

The trails are always fun.......and a great way to spend some park time! :cheer2:

Most definitely. There are even some fun little hidden secrets along the way.

Never seen anything on the menu at Sanaa that excited me, or a review that helped that opinion. I know different people have different tastes, but I would personally go with the new Marketplace area. It was pretty good, even dodging the raindrops............. :-)

That one went on the list due to a tip from an as yet unnamed person who says it's a must. This person will hopefully start a TR soon so we can all hear just why... But yes, Sanaa too. Both will get a visit.

Talk about your high maintenance women.................

:lmao:

You chose Art of Animation??? Who knew............... :rotfl2:Short little walk around the place, it looks like a fun and nice place to stay! :woohoo:

Well.... ummm... you did. LOL! I tried to take a stealth recon walk over there from my last stay at POP, but couldn't. The bridge was a no-go, but this time, I actually get to STAY there!!!:cool1::cool1:

Replies coming, Magdelene! Have to do some other stuff right now, but have read all of your great responses and tips! Thanks! Comments, questions, etc.. coming in an edit to this post. :)

I think your math is wrong. If Epcot is a EMH Morning park that day, you will have 3 hours in Future World before WS opens at 11am. However, are you sure you want to do EMH morning on the day after your arrival day when the time difference is still working towards your disadvantage regarding mornings. Especially if the evening will be at the one event you are looking forward to so much? I would be to afraid to jeopardize the evening by going strong all morning already.

You are right, we have 3 hours. Cool! That's WAY plenty of time to hit up all the stuff we want before we head to the back. But you may have a good point. We just may want to start out a little slower and shoot for a 9:00 arrival, instead of Rope Drop. Plus, we very well, may want to just concentrate on WS, then go back to the Art for a nap until the party, and head for MK around 2:00. I will add this as a very viable Plan B depending on how we feel.

And once again I am concerned for your comfort! :goodvibes I usually would totally agree with you that on your first day you want to take the monorail to the MK. BUT it is a really really long hike from the back of WS all the way to the monorail. Just hopping over to the BC (you could even take a boat...) and then on a bus to the MK would save you a lot of walking in the potentially baking hot afternoon sun. And you want to be able to enjoy the upcoming party to the fullest!

Ok, I moved this reply up to the last one, because I think it ties in with above comment. Again, depending on how we feel that day and the Plan we go with, I'll either take the boat/bus from the back of the Park or the monorail from the front. I'm just curious how MUCH extra time it would take with the scenario you spelled out above. Yes, I totally understand the hot sun and extra walking, but are we looking at like an hour or more that way to transfer?

With regard to making use of mornings, keep in mind that with FP+ they are now giving out FP for the first hour of the day. I have not enough experience on what effect that has on early morning wait times, but in theory it could have the effect to make morning waits longer because they will need to put the FP+ people on the ride as well. So, you might see longer waits earlier compared to what it was in the past.

This is great news; I hadn't read that before! I assume that they are not available during EMH, though, right? Hmmm....

Timeline on Soarin Over the World is still kind of unclear. Currently they are building the third theater. The rumors are that once that is up and running the other two theaters will go down one after the other for changing over to digital projection and maintenance (well overdue as they more or less cannot close this attraction for a refurbishment, it is the one attraction that makes people go to Epcot). Once that is completed the change over to Soarin over the World should be really easy. I think the current estimate is "late 2016" - whatever that means. And I am not sure if that is for the new film or just for building the third theater.

"late 2016" is promising. I think they should keep both films going and give you a choice. At least for a while. I am looking forward to the new one, but would love to have the option of a trip down memory lane one more time too.

Be aware that Spaceship Earth now regularly has lines thanks to FP+.

Great. :(

You do know the Disney Food Blog? http://www.disneyfoodblog.com They have a whole section about the F&W Festival where they have all the current and past booth menus. They usually post them as soon as they become available. They are great for getting an overview and usually post pictures of the tastings as well. Also, menus do not change that much from year to year, so you could certainly look at this years coverage and most likely prices we be similar next year and you will find many of the menu items there as well.

I wasn't aware of that one. Well, that's not entirely true. I've heard of it, but haven't ever gone there or poked around any. I'll have to add that to my bookmarks and see what's what over there. :) Thanks for tip!

Late Spring 2016 is the current estimate for it to open.

Again, super! I"m glad Fall is after Spring!
:scared1: For a moment you got me there!!!

:lmao:It's not often I can pull that off! :hyper:

Generally thumbs up for your choice! :thumbsup2 However, be prepared that this continuous loaders can get quite longish slow moving lines now thanks to the addition of FP+ on them.

I think the Disney app will come in handy this trip for wait times. I've played around with it some and really like it. Have you used it? Do you feel like it's very accurate for wait times?

Since you are going to get FP+ on a party day, you will only be able to get them for time slots up until 7pm. No FP+ during the party (which is great as it makes lines move so much quicker!).

Nice! Yes, I knew that they wouldn't be available during the party, but I will certainly get some for before it!

Generally a good idea to do the party early in the trip and Tuesday is certainly the best day to pick for it! I am sure you know that the second parade will be much easier for viewing than the first one?

Then I think we've got a winner date! YAY! And yes, I like your idea below about the 2nd one in front of Frontierland.

Hallowishes would be a must see for me! I loved it! We had no trouble finding a good spot in the hub, which I considered a great location. Try to be a bit further back from castle as that gives you a better chance to see the fireworks going around the park perimeter.

Good advice... further back. Check!

There are some candy trails that were fun to walk through - no obligation to take any of the candy, but it is a fun experience and a lot of the CMs were having fun talking to the guests getting the candy, especially later at night.

I think if we feel like just wandering for taking in the atmosphere, this is a great plan for doing that.

We lined up for the second parade about 45 minutes early and had a great front row spot in Frontierland.

Ok, noted!

I don't remember any crazy waits for HM during the party, something like 20 minutes maybe...

That's certainly good news! This is one of my must-do's and I didn't want to blow the whole night waiting for it.

Overall, most waits for attractions were really manageable, but they were not walk ons. The same was true for the Christmas party last year. There we were able to do the 7DMT late in the evening with a 15 minute wait even.

This paints me a good picture of what to expect, and I really appreciate all of the helpful comments you've offered about the party! I, above all, want the party to be well worth the money, since I'll only ever do this probably once. ANd the more I know, the more I know I'll enjoy it because I'll be able to plan it better and know what are reasonable expectations.

The one thing I would try to do differently would be to try to be less caught up in the general hectic. I found the park to be very filled with people running from A to B to C. Everyone appeared to be in such a hurry. And it was dark and crowded. This really was not very pleasant and I let myself kind of get caught up in it and started to feel like I needed to rush around as well. One of my best memories of the party is indeed that time that we spent with Marv and Jon waiting for the parade to start as we could just watch the craziness around us without being part of it. Don't try to do everything. You can't do that!

I think maybe a good strategy for us is to get out the park map and the Party Map specifically and spend a while planning out a "best" route. That way we don't criss-cross too much. That last thing I want to do is spend precious amounts of time just walking. And it's good to keep the whole thing in perspective. I know I can't do everything, so I'll concentrate on the highlights and during the rest do a minimum amount of rushing and extra walking.

Why not? The flag has to come down one way or another. The party does not start until 7pm. Until then it is very much a normal operating day. Btw, usually the mornings of the party days are great days to go to the MK. As the park closes so early, a lot of people go to the MK on the other days when the park is open late (and those days then become insanely crowded).

Good advice here as well. Maybe hit the highlights at EPCOT, skip WS, and head straight to MK after a quick pool dip or nap...

I wonder if one can diem AND dine at the same time?!

One should never dine and dash.... oh, wait... that's not what you said.

Those are in case she ever wants to go for a stroll....

sashay

I should have added a virtual drum roll and a finale from 1812 Overature.

And really, is that asking for so much?

I can diem, carpe AND pee at the resorts.

:lmao:

Caught your attention, though.

Yep.

Well. That just sucks bricks.

It's one of those things where it's nice and spontaneous.... and then morphs (unfortunately) into demands.

I know some people need more than others.

Yeah. That's me.

Yeah, it was a bad mix of overbearing dad, and snotty brat child.

Not the best of combinations.

Ok, I like Burger King's Whopper Junior- grill the onions please.

Please. Don't mention BK. I had some the other day after not going for several years.
Made me sick as a dog. Hopefully I'll remember, years from now, not to go again.

We don't have TV, so no. Never got into cooking shows.

Oh, that's right. I forgot.
Well, suffice to say, that he says "celery" instead of "salary".

As long as it's not a snort laugh. Those are embarassing.

I think those are cute, actually.

This looked like a lot of fun!!! It made me laugh seeing the kids and birds because when we did that with my DS he was absolutely terrified!! I loved your pics of all the aussie animals. I am somewhat caught up around here but I have to admit I didn't read everything in detail...congrats on paying off school though...that is huge!

It was a super fun morning seeing animals really up close and personal. It's not often you can actually touch them. Don't worry about reading all the banter and replies, but be careful... some of it, especially the planning comments by several of the Veteran posters like flossbolna give really good tips on touring! Most of it is good fun and teasing (and you're certainly welcome to join in, no one gets offended much. ;) ) but some is actually really helpful!

Thanks! It's a great feeling!

Ok, I'm changing my reading style, and am now reading from beginning and end, and will finish up somewhere in the middle :) Lovely pics of your son and his very red thumb - I had a similar mishap with a sharp knife last month, but luckily the only casualty was my manicure. And so cool you are going to AoA - I like their food court bettr that POP, and may have "snuck" over there a couple of times... And I guess the other hotel is cool too!

I know it's a long read, but trust me, there are, as I told Kathy just now, some excellent nuggets of good advice, tips, touring hints, etc.... buried in here. I hope you find it as helpful and well... fun as I do. :)

EEK! It sounds like you avoided the dreaded trip to the ER, though! Thank Goodness for that. We're STILL getting bills from that one.

I stayed in POP my last trip, and the food court was... ok. I will admit the menu looks better at AoA.

LOLOLOL! Yeah, I think the AKL will be ok. Maybe just a little.

That is news to me !!! Does it mean you get an extra one or is that from your 3 ??

Good question, but I rather think it's likely from the 3.

Yay for paying school 100%!!!!

:dancer:

One should never dine and dash.... oh, wait... that's not what you said.

I've never tried... too much of a goody two shoes.

I'm always torn between sashaying and sauntering.

And really, is that asking for so much?

No. I'll add some orchestral build up next time. Just for you.

It's one of those things where it's nice and spontaneous.... and then morphs (unfortunately) into demands.

Some people. :confused3:sad2:

Not the best of combinations.

Nope. But at least they agreed on whether or not to eat fish.

Please. Don't mention BK. I had some the other day after not going for several years.
Made me sick as a dog. Hopefully I'll remember, years from now, not to go again.

I could mention Wendy's instead. No?

Oh, that's right. I forgot.
Well, suffice to say, that he says "celery" instead of "salary".

He sounds like a real jokester. I'll bet his show is actually kinda entertaining.

I think those are cute, actually.

oink, oink.

I've never tried... too much of a goody two shoes.

I almost did.... once.
The absolute worst service I've ever had in my life!
I was so angry that I decided to just leave.... especially since we hadn't seen our server in the last half hour or so.
Ruby convinced me otherwise. If she hadn't been there, though...

No. I'll add some orchestral build up next time. Just for you.

Thank you.

I could mention Wendy's instead. No?

At least I haven't been poisoned there.

He sounds like a real jokester. I'll bet his show is actually kinda entertaining.

No joke. He doesn't realize he does it I think. English accent.
Actually, there's more bleeped out words than otherwise.

oink, oink.

Be still my beating heart.

Just catching up...sorry I've been absent for a few days...

And like they say... "CARPE DIEM!" So we carped. And we diemed. All the way to Nashville.

Hopefully carpe diem is a bigger budget than per diem.

Apparently, Nashville has long been known at the "Athens of the South".

It has? Huh.:confused3

I'm not sure I'd want to be naked in front of a kicking horse. Just sayin'. Cuz that guy's about to relegated to harem duty.

:scared:

Such a waste of money. I"m sure I could have put it to much better use- on Dole Whips. And Corvettes.

There really isn't a much better use for money than Dole Whips. Seriously, I just spent several minutes trying to think of something better.

I found the list in the middle paragraph gut-splitting hilarious. Careful, boys! Don't frighten the horses.

I had no idea watermelons were so dangerous!:rotfl2:

As for my sister and her family, after spending the week with them last month, we've decided it wouldn't be a good mix to try to do Disney with them. To be very blunt and honest, their kids are pretty spoiled, bossy, and pouty. Just generally not very nice to be around.

Wow. So yeah, maybe not the best vacation company.

Given all of that, I'm going with AoA.

:woohoo: Cool, I've never heard anyone say anything negative about it!

Behind Door #2, and for the 2nd part of our stay, I've chosen to splurge it up (a LOT) and stay in a standard room at AKL.

:woohoo::banana::cool1: Even better! Totally worth the splurge, IMO. That's just a magical resort.

Funny how certain movie quotes get adopted. We have so many around here, you'd think we couldn't come up with any genuine dialogue to save our lives.

Hey! Stop giving away my TR secrets!

It's been YEARS since I've gotten to enjoy watching this sassy red-head defy her father and get married at 16. She needs a spanking. Yes, she married a prince. Big deal. She burned bridges with family. Bad move.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: In the spirit of this, have you ever seen Honest Movie Trailers on YouTube? A great way to waste an hour or so.

ETA: Walked out to the mailbox to find my latest pay stub. I can officially say that it was enough to cover 3rd Term of tuition, and school is now funded 100%!!!

Even more dancing bananas!

I agree you should have. Being held hostage for half an hour is inexcusable. I think I'd have brought it to the attention of the management, cuz if the server is doing that across the board, they will no longer have any customers. They'd have comped you if they had half a brain, AND they'd have given a written warning to the server. (Obviously, I should have gone into restaurant management.)

You're welcome!

At least I haven't been poisoned there.

Given the choice, Wendy's IS better. The chili rocks at $1.00.

No joke. He doesn't realize he does it I think. English accent.
Actually, there's more bleeped out words than otherwise.

So, it's a little like Comedy Central. (Never watched that either, but hear it's rife with language not quite fit for human ears.)

Be still my beating heart.

Down boy.

Made it all the way up to R - Reasons tonight! (So glad I have the late shift tomorrow!)

You are almost there!! :)

Amen! I am working with that exact kind of budget too!

LOL! I love you slipped in the word "exact". :lmao: It's so anything but!

Wouldn't deny it at all! I'm amazed at how much you are packing into your life. Do you sleep? Eat? I cannot imagine going back to school and balancing that with a family.

I occasionally eat, and get about 7-8 hours of sleep a night. If I'm lucky. Lately though, too many meals are on the run in the car or slurped down in 5 minute breaks here and there. I really has been quite a sacrifice my family has had to make as well. There are many, MANY nights I am not home because of studying late with my study group, or at Clinicals. Every day needs a reminder for all of us that it is a short season in the big picture and we'll all be glad I've done it come next year and beyond.

I am sure that you will deserve and enjoy every one of them.

By that point, I didn't want to talk... I wanted out!
But Ruby said we shouldn't leave without paying (you pay at the till).
So I walked over to the till, politely waited for them to finish with another customer, then said:
"You have exactly five minutes to find my server and get the bill or I'm walking out of here."

They did... but they didn't enquire why I was annoyed, so...

(Obviously, I should have gone into restaurant management.)

Obviously. You still could.
In your 15 minutes you have to spare in a day from nursing, that is.

Given the choice, Wendy's IS better. The chili rocks at $1.00.

Nope. Not generally a fan of chili that contains beans.

Down boy.

You started it!

Just catching up...sorry I've been absent for a few days...

No need to apolgize whatsoever. We all take turns having busy times. :) And you've had a lot going on the last little bit... No worries.

Hopefully carpe diem is a bigger budget than per diem.

Yes, but on the spending column. Which isn't good.

There really isn't a much better use for money than Dole Whips. Seriously, I just spent several minutes trying to think of something better.

A kindred spirit!

I had no idea watermelons were so dangerous!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Wow. So yeah, maybe not the best vacation company.

No, definitely not. Unless there were VERY strict touring tenets. (See last PTR under All7OfUs)

:woohoo: Cool, I've never heard anyone say anything negative about it!

Nor have I. But then again, most reasonable people have that perspective that anywhere is great as long as it comes with EMHs and Magic Band entry.

:woohoo::banana::cool1: Even better! Totally worth the splurge, IMO. That's just a magical resort.

I've only been there a couple times and only to eat. But did browse the gift shop, and took a little time to photograph. Definitely looking forward to that full immersion experience!

Hey! Stop giving away my TR secrets!

Oopsies! Sorry. ;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: In the spirit of this, have you ever seen Honest Movie Trailers on YouTube? A great way to waste an hour or so.

OMGosh!! YES! They are So funny; I think my favorites are the Lord of the Rings and Marvel ones.

Even more dancing bananas!

.... because one can never have too many.

I forgot (as usual) to add my "H" photos for the last post. I H.... ope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them. Please excuse the crappy photo quality as I was working with a dippy POS (Point and Shoot- not the other..... which is what that was also, though). I am really hoping the new camera will be give me some MUCH nicer pix this next time around. (For those of you who don't know, I do enjoy some amateur photography as a hobby in my 4 minutes a month of spare time.)

Anyway.... let's see what WDW has to offer us for Letter H:

H is for HORSE

H is also for One HAWT Mama on a Harley.

And a bonus non-point (because the contests haven't started) for anyone who can guess where Tate O'Patty was having fun.

Tate is at hoopty doo :-)

Hooray for resort choices. We stayed at AoA in a lion king and a Cars suite before. It was great fun. You'll have to do the Nemo pool at least once as you can hear music under the water and I mean different music from what you hear above the water. it's great fun. and the food was good too.
And AKL, ooooohhhh how we dream of staying there.

:stitch::simba::sulley: for school being paid. Can't wait to read more.

Kentucky/ Tennessee Mini TR; Day 3 pt. 2

Upward and Onward.... All the way across Nashville to a lavish and over-the top Nirvana. A haven that my dad calls, "the place that outdid Disney". Yes, Friends, if this hotel were a resort on Disney Property, I would stay there over the Contemporary (but then again I'd stay at Pop before I stayed there), ANY of the mods, and even over Wilderness Lodge.

Come with me to a place that welcomes die hard country music fans, the rich and famous, your average American Joe and Jane, honeymooners, Anniversaryites, and Conventioneers. Sit back, relax. Grab a glass of champagne or a PBR, depending on which camp from the above you might fall into, and let's tour:

THE OPRYLAND HOTEL

The outside grounds are quite lovely themselves:

But wait until I take you inside! But first they have a really cool Welcoming Committee to say hello:

He's dead, so he's extra cool.

Here are some fun facts to get our tour started:

• 105—number of ice machines on-site • 269—number of coolers and freezers on-site • 650 tons—quantity of glass covering the Delta Atrium • 45 acres & 15 stories—distance the glass dome of the Delta Atrium covers • 394,474 gallons—amount of water in the Delta River • 500+ fish—number of fish in the Delta River, including 8 native Tennessee fish (flathead catfish, blue catfish, channel catfish, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, bluegill, sun perch, carp)

About that glass:

The "Delta River" mentioned above? Well, you know the Fountain of Nations at EPCOT, right. The Delta River went with the same idea and is home to waters from every continent, most major rivers, water from 100s of streams and lakes from every state, etc.... PLUS, they put native fish in it from Tennessee. (I'm not sure how the Tennessee fish do in Zimbabwean water...) In case you neglected to read what I bothered to copy and paste, and basically plagarize. You're welcome.

The hotel is world famous for its indoor gardens, and quite literally, Disney can't even compare. Imagine the Poly Lobby in its (better) former glory and multiply it by about a billion. I stopped counting species of bromeliads after about 3 dozen.

No, and orchid is not a bromeliad, but I like them too.

How about overlooking the Delta River and the Atrium from one of these? Hey, @eandesmom , coffee on the veranda with me someday here??

The next ones remind me SO much of New Orleans Square at DLR. I want to live here. Forever.

No resort with its weight in Dole Whips is without fountains. Lots and lots of fountains. Like these:

But gorgeous gardens and exotic rivers surrounded by intricate ironwork is not only what the Opryland is famous for!! It is the MOTHERLAND of country music. Period. The end. Amen. From right here the heart of country beats as it's broadcast live 24/7 on AM 650 WSM- on the air since.... forever.

Factoids for the Geeks among us (not the Greeks because that was in the last post)- and by the way Ponzi, you can even pick up a clear signal in Canadaland, Toronto to be exact, should you come to the dark side of Country.

WSM (branded The Legend) is a 50,000 watt AM radio station located in Nashville, Tennessee. It broadcasts a full-time country music format at 650 kHz and is known primarily as the home of The Grand Ole Opry, the world's longest running radio program.[1]The station's clear channel signal can reach much of North America and various countries, especially late at night. It is one of two clear-channel stations in North America, along with CFZM/Toronto, that still broadcast music. Nicknamed "The Air Castle of the South," it shares its callsign with WSM-FM, also in Nashville, and formerly with television Channel 4, now WSMV.

Yes, that really is the DJ "spinning" tunes, and yes, you do hear it piped in to all the places of Opryland.

And yes, I AM a good mother. Because ice cream. Not just any ice cream. $7 ice cream from an overpriced resort ice cream.

And ice cream by this fountain. So, yeah worth $7 IMHO.

More photos just for fun:

Let's talk about food. (I know what it takes to keep my reader census up!) How would you like to eat with this view?? You can at one of about 17 restaurants. Some affordable (think Disney prices at a CS); some you might have to sell a kidney to eat at (think Disney signature prices). We did not, because we went to pizza where the stars eat... and I invite you to stick around for the next post on our tour of Kentucky/Tennesseeland because there will be pizza pictures.

Here's a sushi bar that caught my attention:

Over the rail from a waterside table:

After dinner, I can imagine taking a stroll among the many halls and lobbies where one would find treasures like this, the overhead art work:

And no better way to enjoy all of this than with loved ones at your side!!

After all that walking, wouldn't you like a little river cruise? No, you don't get to see the backside of water, but you do get to listen to a cheesy spiel by your tourguide. And as opposed to paying the price of a $100 ticket, you can do it for a mere $9.50 (that's 2 Dole Whips, just sayin'.)

See ^^ that lady just sold her eye.

At least the kids are happy. Now their parents can't see them being naughty because the tour did cost them those eyes. Luckily my sister ponied up the cash and only one eye, so it's all good. I still have my money for Dole Whips.

I'll leave you with 2 artsy-fartsy shots because I can. I hope you've enjoyed your tour. Y'all come back now, ya hear!!!

Bad girl.

 What?!??

With crocks... on a Harley... Peter Fonda is rolling over in his grave (well if he was dead, that is.)

Well, crap. And as usual you quoted before I could fix it.

Only hawt chicks wear Crocs. (Still pissed those got lost in my move!)

Whoa. That's saying a lot.

A lot.

Come with me to a place that welcomes die hard country music fans,

Nope. Pass.

the rich and famous

Not rich and not famous... So far it's not looking good.

your average American Joe and Jane

Not American... North American, sure. But that's not what you meant.

honeymooners

Nope. That was 25 years ago.

Anniversaryites

I'm in! (I mentioned 25 years right? Next month. Don't know if she wants to head down, though.)

The outside grounds are quite lovely themselves:

::yes::

He's dead, so he's extra cool.

He's just like Elvis!
(allegedly)

650 tons—quantity of glass covering the Delta Atrium • 45 acres & 15 stories—distance the glass dome of the Delta Atrium covers

Whoa. Impressive.

Well, you know the Fountain of Nations at EPCOT, right.

Nope. Never heard of it.

:rolleyes1

(I'm not sure how the Tennessee fish do in Zimbabwean water...)

They do fine, but they pick up a bit of an accent.

The hotel is world famous for its indoor gardens, and quite literally, Disney can't even compare. Imagine the Poly Lobby in its (better) former glory and multiply it by about a billion.

I'm getting tired of saying "whoa" but I can't seem to stop!

Hey, @eandesmom , coffee on the veranda with me someday here??

And if she won't or can't, gimme a call.
I'll have OJ instead, but still...

This next ones remind me SO much of New Orleans Square at DLR.

::yes::

Factoids for the Geeks among us (not the Greeks because that was in the last post)-

Oh, that's right.

and by the way Ponzi, you can even pick up a clear signal in Canadaland, Toronto to be exact, should you come to the dark side of Country.

1. No.
2. I may have. I've picked up some weird stuff on a few occasions. And;
3. No.

The station's clear channel signal can reach much of North America and various countries, especially late at night.

Yeah... It's quite possible. Might have picked it up, heard Country and hastily changed the channel.

Yes, that really is the DJ "spinning" tunes, and yes, you do hear it piped in to all the places of Opryland.

:headache: So you're saying I'd have to wear my earphones all the time???

And yes, I AM a good mother. Because ice cream.

 Funny you should say that.
I'm referencing the very first picture in my TR... which isn't posted yet... but soon.

Over the rail from a waterside table:

Oh, no! I hope you weren't wearing something too nice and dry clean only!

And no better way to enjoy all of this than with loved ones at your side!!

Two very pretty young ladies.

No, you don't get to see the backside of water

What? Ripoff!

See ^^ that lady just sold her eye.

:lmao:

Only hawt chicks wear Crocs. (Still pissed those got lost in my move!)

Lost or someone from the fashion police confiscated them?

I visited the Opryland Hotel many years ago and remember how beautiful it was and how humid it was inside! I'm glad that it recovered after the floods!

That is a gorgeous hotel! I've been to Nashville once but it was such a short trip, and it was solely to attend Taylor Swift's 13 hour Meet & Greet, so I actually did nothing else than that while I was there, other than walking around the city for a bit and getting heat exhaustion :faint:

Looking at those pictures though, I definitely need to make time and go back there, and put that hotel in the top 5 of things I need to do while there!
