So what you're saying is if any of us have a few days off we don't get a vacation either because we are obligated to spend all of our time here bantering away for your future enjoyment??? :scratchin :headache: :surfweb: :rolleyes1:badpc: :faint:

Well, I suppose you could take it that way...

but I thought every day here was a vacation...:confused3:confused:

Congratulations on buying the first 2 tickets. If there's on thing about Disney, they're good about extracting your money. :thumbsup2

The vacation sounds great. Even if you do have to do some cooking. At least it is a nice change in scenery and an opportunity for some relaxation.

And if you want some potty humor... I went to a conference at an old resort that was built on a mineral spring in the 1800's just before our Disney World trip. They told us that MLB teams used to come their for spring training back in the early 1900's because the water was known to get players back into playing shape after they spent the off season abusing their bodies. They'd just drink water from the spring and outhouses were found in plentiful quantities and close proximity. :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

At every turn. ::yes:: But yes, it does feel good to have 1/2 of that expense out of the way.

It really will be at that. We may even see some snowflakes - which will be really cool while sitting in a hot pool! And it's always nice to have the entire family together, which so rarely happens anymore. All 5 kids and 2 significant others! YAY!!

Your last Disney trip was in the 1800's?? You look so young!! (jk/jk!)

But that is super funny. Must have been *something* in the water. :lmao::lmao::lmao: Can't EVER go wrong with outhouse minerals in the mix!!:stir:

Hi there! :wave2: I'm joining in very late it seems. I love your big, beautiful family. It's wonderful that you've decided to go back to school to pursue nursing. Congratulations! I've been thinking about what I'm going to do with myself once I'm done being a SAHM. It's inspiring to hear stories like yours. I'm looking forward to hearing more of your plans. :thumbsup2

Well, HEY THERE!! I'm so glad you decided to join the party over here. NO WAY, I am JUST getting started. I mean seriously, WHO even starts a PTR 20 freaking months before a trip!?!? :lmao: I've made some wonderful, WONDERFUL friends here, many of whom I've met in real life and I can't think of a better group to keep me encouraged and going!!:hug:

Like I've told my readers, starting Monday I'll will have to go dark for a while until I get that first exam (of 5 during the term- every 2 weeks) under my belt. I am taking my laptop with me this week and see if I can write a bit more so I can at least get something up during then. I"m also going to desperately try to keep up with the 15 threads I'm on. I hope it's not a recipe for disaster! :scared::scared:

Hooray for buying tickets! :hyper:

Any time I wake up to different view it counts as a vacation in my book. Even if I still have to cook. I hope you have a fun! :goodvibes

I'm sure will have a great time! I had high hopes of getting the dinners cooked ahead of time, but that didn't happen. Ah well, at least the hot pools are waiting for me. :)

Congratulations on making the first of what will be many expensive payments for the trip! Amazing how we keep willingly doing that!

Have a great new year! And good luck with the classes.

Why thank you! Odd how the money hole never seems to fill up, and yet we gladly dump all we can into it... with smiles on our faces. Some might call this odd- yet to those with an enablement team in place, don't.

Thanks, Mark! Trying to make the mental switch. It's hard. I kinda wish the longer (month long) break would have been between Winter and Spring Terms, not Fall and Winter. I have a bad feeling I'm going to be very tired and weary in 11 weeks. :( Luck is only a small fraction of the equation. Determination is the name of the game here.

I am subbing Liessa !!!!

Hey, HEY, the gangs all here!!!

I am so super glad you're here my little partner in crime!! I hear we might even be able to plot an evil Disney take-over in Oct, 2016! (well, ok, maybe just a little mayhem. ;))

Hope things are settling down for you a bit, and you can catch some rest, Sweetie! I know you've been under a LOT of stress lately. :( Take care of yourself!!

Great intros! I didn't know Crapistan was still referred to as Crapistan in your household!

About that no diaper thing.... do they wrap the legs down so the baby can't move? What happens if a.... well... you know... a #2 occurs? (didn't take long for the potty talk to come up did it?)

Beautiful pictures of the family!!!! :thumbsup2

Nice to see some of these names already posting on here! :goodvibes

Nice to see you here, too. A lot of the gang is already onboard. Should be a fun ride!:banana::banana:

Hi Everyone!

I'm Anara, Steppesister's DD. I'm 12 years old and am homeschooling this year.

I've been to DisneyWorld a couple of times and Disneyland twice. I like WDW WAY more than DLR because it's so much bigger and there's a LOT more things to see and do and eat!

I have a pet rat named Bridgette and am hoping to get 2 goats this spring. We are building a shed for them and are putting up some fencing for them.

I am a blue belt in Karate and will take my test for my next belt after my foot gets better. (I broke it last summer, but it took a long time to heal. A cow stepped on it. :scared:)

My favorite Disney princess is Belle because she doesn't fall in love at first sight and isn't stupid.

My dream resort is AKL and I hope we get to stay there, and my favorite memory is going on Splash Mountain over and over and over one night. I really like the fireworks too, especially when Tinkerbelle flies out of the castle. :tinker:

I'm looking forward to being part of this PTR, and sharing our plans with you too.

(Hi Magdelene and Katharina!!)

Hi Anara! It's so fun to have you here on the PTR! :yay: I'm not sure if you remember me, but I met you when your mom's crazy DISboard friends came to stay at your house for the weekend a couple of years ago.

Hey, hey, HEY Tammie Chica!! Welcome to the chaos!

I like my new name too. :) I like the story behind it, which goes into Chapter 3. ;)

It'll have been 6 years since my last trip, and that's WAY too long! Someday, we should do a ladies trip for sure!!!

Come on over when you can! You know I MUCH prefer the banter and friendship making style of thread, so come as often as you like!

I have deduced a little about your name, and appreciate its origins. :thumbsup2 A ladies' trip would be A-MAZING! It seems with being way further from home than I planned, and working again, which I didn't plan - I only have enough time to see family these days,( which may or may not involve Disney) but I would sure give it the old college try

I realized I actually probably left an adequate explanation wanting about my screen name, which is really pretty simple:

We lived for many years on the "steppe" of Central Asia. If you're a geography buff, you'll know that that is the term for a vast, empty stretch of land where pretty much nothing grows and cattle starve. Cold cannot begin to describe the bone-chilling winters, nor blistering speak to the blazing hot summer. Empty does not quite sufficiently describe the miles of desolation exacerbated by decades of land mismanagement in the form of poor crop choice. And yet, it has a wild beauty that only those who've spent enough time to appreciate the quiet, the wildness, and freedom experienced in the gentle breezes accentuated by the vibrant sunsets. That wide, open space became part of me.

It's also important to note that Disney and I run WAY back. I had a cousin who was an animator in the 60's and 70's, I went to DLR MANY times a year growing up, and was a CM during college. I love Walt's vision of entainment (which is sadly being eroded in tragic ways), and I thought the screen name of steppesister fit both parts of my life pretty well. No, I'm not a step-sister, in case you're wondering. ;)

You're not a step-sister now, but have you ever played one at DL? :scratchin (That should get some rumors going....) :lmao:

Hi....

Ya'll should know me. MK is for missionary kid. And, obviously, MK. I am DD #1.

Just want you all to know I'm watching you.... always watching.

Anara. Mom said we could start a sibling war.

Hi Bekka! Fun to have you here, too! Congratulations on your marriage - the wedding looked beautiful! Now to convince your DH that the two of you need to tag along for the trip!:rolleyes1

I am finally all caught up!

I absolutely love the wedding pictures. They are just stunning. The colors for the wedding are wonderful. What a lovely day.

I enjoyed meeting all your family. I really didn't realize your youngest was born while you were still overseas.

Congrats on buying your first two park tickets. That is awesome.

Also - congrats on scoring so high on your entrance exam for nursing school. You totally have this!!!!! When do you go back to school?

Don't mean to be a thread hog, just catching up :flower3: I LOVE Belknap! I was there for a retreat a few years ago with some ladies - we rented a vacation house nearby. The hike at the river is amazing and you meet the most interesting people in the hot springs (well, pretty much anywhere in Oregon, but I won't go there! :lmao:) Have a great time!!! See you after school and play well with others!
