The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Congrats on the 88!.... uh... I think?
I know you want an A, but I think 88 is still pretty darned good!

We're doing that too. Except now we're only one episode behind.
It's kind of weird, though.
We first started watching it and didn't mind it, then after a while it got boring so we stopped watching.
But I never stopped the PVR from recording.
One day DW tells me, "Well there's nothing on... Might as well watch one of those OUATs."

So we did.
meh.
"Well, lets watch another one."

Better... annnnnnd.... hooked again (no pun intended.)

You are WAAAAAY ahead of me, my friend. I'm still WAY back in Season 1, and only about half way through. I have to go to my daughter's place to partake since we don't have TV, cable or anything like that. We only have Netflix by mail. Someday, maybe Comcast will grace us with their cable-y presence, but until then, we really don't have time to watch much TV anyway. Everytime I sit down to camp in front of the tube, I am guilt ridden over my disgusting looking yard, or would rather get some DISTime.

But yeah, it kinda has already taken some... odd turns. I left ER decades back when it got too "weird". And I'll do it to this one too. There are too many other better things if it gets boring or worse.

Well, dang it. That'll teach me for trying to go against the flow. The lesson is: just do what everyone else does.

That's ok. As long as you're not doing that while you're there and showing up to the parks at 11:00 and standing in line for Dumbo. Right?

Good luck on the test. Amazing fact. It was during college, that I discoverd Amaretto Sours. It quickly progressed to Whiskey Sours as the months progressed.

The thought of eating alone at WDW. That is what dreams are for. Not having to stand in line (QS) and having your kids "find a table" and leave you to try to carry 3 trays of food to a table you have no idea where is.

Thanks!! I did ok, but still keep wishing that elusive 90% or higher would work its way into the equation.

I actually have discovered that early on. As nice as it is for a flavor, it's almost not worth the money. After a long day of studying, I want something that packs more of a punch (I sound like a full-on boozer, but tipsy is something I save for a rare occasion like after a final.) It was too sweet, even with extra sour, and kind of syrupy. I'll stick with a rich, red pinot noir, I think. But, yes, as you say.... ;) I understand that trend you describe- school, exams, papers, good friends, all that will do that. Funny you should mention Whiskey Sours, though. Apricot Sours were my Grandma's favorite drink, and on my last trip, I made a special ADR for the Brown Derby, in her honor and had the MOST amazing Apricot sour EVER. I'm sure the atmosphere, her memory, (she had just passed away about a year before that trip), the fact that it was in Disney, and the fact that it was like $8.00 or more, added to its flavor. LOL!

Ahhh, solo dining. What can I say? It was absolute Heaven! Again, I think my next post will be on the lovliness of solo time in the World! The Happiest Place on Earth CAN get Happier... :)

It is fine; really, I'm not complaining at all. Just bugs me that every time I push submit, I think... this is it, gonna be an A this time. GAH!!!

No time to dwell... onto STDs (oh goody.), Reproductive disorders, Hepatitis, and other "fun stuffs". (I think I'd rather go stand in line at the DMV (OH! Wait, I did that today, had to renew the driver's license before my birthday on Friday!). Better yet, I'd love to just go find a Taco Tuesday and a margarita and celebrate Cinco de Mayo, the day that Mexico got rid of their illegal aliens. Hmmm....? The irony that we celebrate this KILLS me. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I left ER decades back when it got too "weird".

That's so weird!
We watched ER right up until the extremely long overdue ending.
I think the last two seasons I kept thinking/saying "When will they end this thing????"

I stuck it out since we'd never missed a single episode.
But I sure was glad once they ended it.

In other news. Words that you normally don't see together...

I didn't know you celebrated that in the States?
We don't.

I don't think I made it even close to the end. I think the last thing I really remember is that handsome young guy Carter who got hooked on drugs. I know they were getting all "let's tackle the tough subjects", but it just got more and more bizarre after that. Oh, and what's his face doctor getting his arm (s?) chopped off by the helicopter blade. Seriously...?!

In other news. Words that you normally don't see together...

Just keepin' it real. Just finished watching the hour-long online lecture on HIV/AIDS. Aside from the obvious tragic nature, there is a LOT of technical immune response stuff to memorize. UGH.

I didn't know you celebrated that in the States?
We don't.

One more excuse for a a margarita, methinks. If you're on the Left Coast with our large immigrant population, it's a rather big deal with extra deep happy hours and Tacofests. From what I understand, it's really not even celebrated at all, like AT ALL, in Mexico. The misconception is that it's their Independence Day.

Thanks for the good thoughts and encouragement, All!!

I guess it's a Crazy 8's kind of thing for me and these exams. Following my trend, I once again got an 88%, which makes my average.... wait for it..... 88%. I love easy math! Trending out, I plugged and chugged (actually an Excel Spreadsheet did it for me) I will need to get an 92% on both of my next exams to eek out an A WITHOUT adding the 2 extra credit points available, assuming I get them. It's all up in the air right now.

You got this!!!!! I'm routing for you! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Actually, that set up something for later.
They had this whole thing going about him getting his arm stuck back on and him trying to still be a surgeon.
You know, how when you get your arm lopped off by a helicopter tail rotor, it's an absolutely clean cut and it should only take a week or two to heal, right?

But I digress. The funny part (to me... but then I'm a little.... okay a lot, twisted) was when he left the show.
I think there was an earthquake or something, maybe a gas leak... don't remember.
In any event, Dr. Romano (I had to Google that. Couldn't remember the name...) goes outside the ER.
And as per usual he's barking out commands and insults.
The helicopter? The one that took his arm? Well it got a taste for blood and wanted to finish the job.
It falls off the roof of the hospital. Romano looks up and it's like a guy who's being hunted by a shark.
He screams, cowers, and the helicopter lands right on top of him.
No more Dr. Romano.

Funny thing was, no one saw it happen.
And they didn't even know he was dead until at least a couple of episodes later.

"Has anyone seen Dr. Romano?"
"No. He probably went home."

Aside from the obvious tragic nature, there is a LOT of technical immune response stuff to memorize. UGH.

Oy. Have fun with that.

Yeah, okay. I can see that.

Really??? I thought it was this huge thing!
Consider me edumacated.

Congratulations for your lucky 8s!! You do know that the Chinese consider 8 to be the luckiest number of them all - and if there are more 8s it is even luckier! I think all your 88% grades mean that you will just fly through your second year of the course with great success! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear you're doing well! You can still get the A!

But if not, don't sweat it. Once you get that degree in hand, nobody asks for the GPA.

I loved the irony of Dr Romano's demise on ER. And last spring I got the chance to stand on the spot where he bit it...on the Warner Bros back lot tour!

Here?

I loved the WB tour. We did that in 2005. My only regret is that at that time I had not started watching Gilmore Girls yet and became a huge fan then after our visit there... I think I would have appreciated seeing Luke's much more if I had know the series.... And I would have taken better pictures.

Yep, although it doesn't look like that much anymore. The big "H" to mark the helicoptor landing pad is still there.

Great grades and another semester is over!! I hope you have a great summer or are you in classes this summer. Lover the s and t pictures.
Sorry I got so far behind. Major project roll out at work. One little change in the nursing flow sheet has taken a year and a half worth of work.
Hope you are enjoying the nursing school journey.

Whoa, a lot of reading to catch up on. I did read your latest posts and wanted to say congrats on your continued good grades! I do understand the A thing (I may or may not have been guilty of that myself), but as my nursing instructor use to say, “80 is a nurse”. (We had to pass all classes with at least an 80 to move on.) And in the end, it’s all about that NCLEX.

I missed the STD's comment...better be onto those STD's. For some of us in nursing today, that is verrryyy important information. Not sure these days how NCLEX worthy they are but important none the less. I am learning when I see certain antibiotics ordered, I need to make sure they were taken and take a look at the STD testing and retest during prenatal visits.

About the 80's grades-Someone with 95 and above can still fail NCLEX. 80's in class and able to use critical thinking skills and put all the info together for NCLEX passing grade is still a nurse and usually a very good one!! All textbook skills and no common sense does not make a good nurse!!

This week has been full, to the point where it's not even fun. BUT, it IS Nurse's Week, my birthday is tomorrow, AND I get to see Phantom on Sunday! Also, I get to do a fundraiser walk for Make a Wish on Saturday, AND I'm in Mother/Baby again tomorrow. (Not really sure I like it so much, but more on that, and WHOLE lot more tomorrow evening!)

I want to be here so bad, but it's obscenely busy! I haven't even had time to do my post-test Mickey heads. :sad1::crazy:

Happy Birthday Liesa! Hope the next year brings lots of successful exams with plenty of 9s, not just 8s. Have a great day!
