The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Awesome surprise!

RIGHT?!

I can understand that. But anything for an excuse to travel down memory lane.

Exactly! And what's even better, is that after 5 years of being back in the States and most of my Disney being on a since then defunct computer, we finally took the time to snag those off and put them on my own laptop. Kinda like Christmas for a Disney junkie, no?

I really like that too. I think I'd actually rather stay at the Boardwalk for that reason alone.

I think for THIS trip it's a good way to go. Maybe AKL for a future trip for Mothers/Daughters or something.

Wow! Things are really coming together nicely for you right now! Keep up the hard work, because it is definitely paying off!

It is!! Slow, but steady progress; I keep having to tell myself that almost anything worth doing is going to take a while and that "Any progress is GREAT progress!" (Coined that myself. ;) )

I kind of think that's a good thing. If you're not sure, but it is because there are several areas you're interested in that should really help you out finding different good options available to you rather than pigeon holing yourself into taking something that might not be the best fit.

Yes! I have been warned that the first job that comes along, is often not the best job or fit. I don't have to hurry at all, really. I like having that luxury!

I'm glad you enjoyed the pin! I was hoping to find one and the pin shop at the Poly came through!

You are making so much progress with paying your trip off! It will be so much more fun to know its all paid for before you go!

Jill in CO

YAY!! I have my lanyard already loaded up with the others I want to take, but I won't add this one until after school is done. It'll be a nice reminder of my goal. :) So now she's on my Clinical unform.

For sure!! The only thing that may NOT be paid off is the food, but hey, I'll have gotten a good paying job and it'll be taken care of in no time.

Of course it is. What else could it be.
I just found it odd that it's the first thing that popped into my head.

I thought... "Liesa? Oh, she must mean procreate. What else could it be?"

I didn't. (Find it odd.)

I could have been talking about Endothelial Protein C Receptor.... :confused3:lmao:

I have a bad thought... so I'll just keep my mouth shut and not get banned from the DIS.

Proooooobabaly a good idea. Although, you were not alone. :dance3:

No, Liesa. No. You nurse. You not patient. You nurse patient.

Sometimes I wonder if I'll end up as one. I wonder if I'll be a patient patient.....

Holy!!! Never thought of that!
But these guys cook fast, pretty sure the bacon would still be pretty raw if I did that.

Pre-fry it just a little. Better yet, microwave it on paper towels for a smidge, then put on iron, pour over batter, cook. Voila.

OMG! A Liesa pre-trippie! Yay! I'm WAY late to the par-tay so some catching up is in order. :)

Oh! I am just so tickled and excited you're here, Nikki!!! :welcome: I had no idea you were still around the DIS, and thought I'd lost you for good around here! I know I see you on FB here and there, but it's just not the same. Please come around often and join in my journey and all the fun!! I know this is the slow boat to China, (and Mexico and Germany, and Italy...) but it'll be so much better with familiar faces!

Totally cute Minnie nurse pin! I love the shoe pins - Rapunzel's shoe is on my coat, and Ariel's shoe is on my work lab coat. Cinderella's and Aurora's shoes are for park days!

I'm not familiar with the "shoe" pins. Can you post a photo? I'd love to see them!

Excellent! Nice work @jedijill !

Wow, that really is fantastic news! Hope those plane tickets are in your pocket soon. It's a great feeling when the only thing left on the list is to enjoy the vacation.

She's a peach!!!

The tricky part is that I have to buy all the tickets at the same time, so need all of that money in just a few months (like by April). Let's see... $1600 in 6 months at $200 per shift is 8 shifts. 8 shifts in 5 months. That's an average of 2 shifts a month. Yeah, I think I can do that. ;)

How's that for all of my thinking and processing "out loud" right here? It's like you're inside my brain!!! WHOA!!

Which actually reminds me of that newest Disney flick I JUST watched on Friday night, Inside Out. Ok, that was super weird, and took me WAY back to Psych 101 and 123 that I took a million years ago. Same Freudian crap, just cute drawings to go with it now. It was... kinda dumb. Anywhoooo, that's my commentary, and I'm stickin' to it.

How sweet of Jill to do that for you!

I was very sweet! I can't wait until I"m in a position to pay it forward too!

Yay! That must feel really good!

Sure enough does!!

Also awesome!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That's not bad news, you already have a solution!

I like the way you think!!!

Progress on paying off a trip is ALWAYS exciting stuff! Congrats! :cutie:

Ugh! I really wanted to get back here and give my replies and hi'

Ok, so here's the story on what REALLY happened with that incomplete and cryptic reply:

I was quickly trying to just check in last night on my way to a potluck with my hubby at his Moutaineering/Outdoors Club way out in the middle of nowhere on the way up towards Mt. Hood, and got exactly that far through it before my reception/signal went dead. I posted what I had, and gave up. I reminded him that all the CRAP he gives me about DISMeets and Friendships that start and somewhat revolve around a common interest like Disney is exactly what he drug me to last night. I had very little in common with the folks, didn't go any deeper really with any subject, drank wine with mostly strangers, etc... and won't really see them again. (Although I did meet one gal who is an X-Ray tech in the Cath. Lab at my hospital, so there was that.) My point is that he enjoyed having a social gathering with his Hiking Homies and it's really EXACTLY like a DISMeet that I would go to. The difference is that we have a cool forum and DO pursue deeper and stronger friendships even outside the online stuff. My other point is that just as he enjoys his stuff, he should also understand mine. I ramble. LOL! It was boring. After 25 slides of snow on moutain peaks, they all look the same. Heck after 4 slides of snow on moutain peaks they all look the same.

I know what you mean. Impromptu dinner parties can really screw up those plans!

So true. Especially boring ones.

Especially the themed, costumed ones.

Those are more fun than the one last night.

Isn't it amazing how much leeway we give ourselves that we aren't willing to give others? Anyway...supporting our spouses through their hobbies and interests is just what you do, right?

I'm newly back to the DIS. I was really missing writing and one of my favorite things to write was pre-trips and trip reports, so I started one for my February trip. I was perusing the Boards and was so excited to find your PTR!

Is Wednesday another day when we will have to cross all our fingers for you? It seems that another two week period is coming to an end, but I might be off a week... Just wanted to say that I am thinking of you and somehow I don't have a lot of excuses, but still can't get a lot of DIS time either...

Way to go on more paying off of trip!!

I can totally relate about trying to indulge in each others interests...and share them when you can, but at least understand the time spent when it isn't necessarily your thing...that's what it takes to be partners for life!!

YES! It IS that Tuesday before a Wednesday that I will ask for your prayers, good thoughts, best wishes and all the Power of Encouragement you can muster. I have a bad feeling about this, even more than others.

Liver Dysfunction, Renal Failure and Adrenal Gland Stuff is all starting to really blur and be fuzzy. I'm struggling to keep it all straight in my mind. On top of that, I didn't sleep worth a crap last night, making my last few hours of study pretty difficult.

I'll post here on the the flip side around 10:00 PST and let you know....

Toodles.

I hope you get some decent rest tonight so that your knowledge and hard work has a chance to shine!

I hope so too!! I've had a nice 1/2 glass of Oregon Pinot Noir, and am on my way to bed with an Ambien very soon. Last night was filled with dreaming of charting... over, and over, and over....

Well, if it's not too late.... Good luck!
And if it is... Hope it went great!

Team Steppe had big victories today!

Soooooooo happy with my 89%!!!

That puts me at an 86% with one regular exam and 1 Final to go. Phew, almost done with Term #1
