** A few of the photos are taken from other internet sources as I failed to get some I thought were important to this update. They are watermarked for credit.
I'll come back to this later...
It started early enough alright with the customary cup of coffee from the Food Court. It was warm and purchased with the utmost love and affection.
Awww.... someone really loves her coffee.
I'm thinking this is one of those things in life that you just can't do without.
And eat she did. For HOURS.

You go, glutton.... er... girl!
After all, not only had she been all the way to Mars and back by 11:00, she’d also flown around the world, and built a mediocre car, if you’ll recall.

That
would build up an appetite.
Good thing there happened to be a Food Festival nearby so she could consume the same amount of food she normally eats in 3 months.
Holy crap.
Pretty pic of you!
a Magic Band that was about to go through the mother of all MB workouts.
I've read the rest... was that thing smoking by the end??
with an oink-oink here and an oink-oink there… Here a pig, there a pig…
Better watch out for an old famer named MacDonald.
(see last Trip Report where she drank from A-Z)
I remember that. Still surprised that you did it.
but today, we’ll witness her putting to shame most any pubescent boy on a high school football team.
At first, when I read that, I was like "There's no way. Those teenagers can pack it away."
You proved me wrong.
Remember, Boys and Girls, repeat after me:

Eat all the food!
Rather, this booth hosted stuff that had somehow incorporated spicy chili or foods that had a fermented nuance or “bite” to them.
Hmmm... I might give that one a miss. I typically don't care for really hot foods. If it's a little spicy, that's okay. But I like to
taste my food, not be running around in panic looking for someplace to stick my head in water.
In the end I went with both the Smoked Corned Beef and the Sweet Pancake.
Then again... those
do look good...
But, let me tell you what, Folks- the pickled onions knocked my socks off
Oh, no! And you just started! Did you get blisters?
let’s just say that Steppe does NOT do chicken and waffles. Ever.
Have you tried it? Ever?
After all, packing on 10 pounds in a week was about as easy as losing it a week later in Africa. Had I known, I’d have had a few more samplings.
Uh, oh. That does not bode well for the African portion of the trip.
If you know me at all, you know I can hold my bladder for about the same amount of time as a 4-year old little girl who’s had a Coke.
Well, I didn't know that... but this is crucial information to know for future reference.
their 3-year old saying, “Daddy, I gotta go.”
This is actually not that big a deal.
"See your mother."
See? Problem solved.
And then there’s Steppe”, he said to himself. “I’d better put one every few yards.”
Beer is disgusting. (Flame all you want.)
Nope. No flames here. I agree with you.
But... since you asked...
But, Mac and Cheese ain’t!
Agreed!
It wasn’t BAD, I guess, but it wasn’t last year’s Loaded Mac n’ Cheese either.
Oh, that's too bad.
Something maybe to slug a beer with and move on, I suppose.
Um.... I thought you said beer was disgusting?
her first stop was the Greece Kiosk.
Greece kiosk, yes.
Grease kiosk, no.
Unless it involves singing and dancing from the late 50s.
Food and Wine really rocks my world because I love the idea of tasting loads of different things and having that variety.

Agreed!
You get to try a lot of different things for not as much money (comparatively).
The portions are smaller, so you're not full after just one.
None of that appeals to me.
Yet, I'd try all of it.
My favorite was the Dolmates. I have no idea if they had meat in them,
Ooohhh... mystery meat dolmates.
Wait... didn't we just have the whole Spam thing conversation?
expert oinkers know how to pace themselves

Of course. That trough ain't gonna be full all the time!
I’m going by the order of my photos, so have no idea where each kiosk was really
Oh! I can help you out, there!
They were in Epcot.
You're welcome.
The location probably matters to y’all about as much as how many blooms my Christmas cactus has on it right now (6)
Thank goodness you said that!
We were having this huge argument around the table the other day.
"I say she has 5 blooms!"
"No! You're an idiot! It's 7!"
"You're both stupid! It's obviously 4!"
Food got thrown. Insults hurled.
It was not a pretty sight.
served up a delicious, mouth-watering portion of Loaded Mac n’ Cheese that Steppe proclaimed “Dah Winnah” of food offerings. I couldn’t wait to have more.
But they dashed her happy, throw-caution-to-her-waistline dreams and moved it to another kiosk.
I read on another TR that it was located near the front of the park. Too bad you missed it.
So... coming back to the "watermark" on the photos. There isn't one on this, so I can only assume it's a selfie.
But look, this salad looked good and sometime in the next day or so, all this food was gonna have to, you know… find a way out.

Whatever do you mean, Liesa?
Besides, it tasted GREAT! I really loved this one. The combination of beets, feta, beans, glazed nuts and vinaigrette was lovely.
Nope. I don't think I'd like that one. Not a bean fan, don't care for walnuts and beets are hit and miss.
Waddle, waddle, oink, oink… moving along.
I like the Australian motifs on this!
That was really interesting.
The more I looked at it, the more I saw.
Can't figure out what that is between the koala and the butterfly near the bottom.
A dingo?
Next Steppe had her Mates throw another shrimp on her plate.
I remember when that commercial came out.
And all the Aussies were saying "We'd never say that. We'd say "prawn"."
I like shrimp. It’s much better than beer and when tossed together with pineapple, bell peppers, snap peas, and a spicy sweet and sour sauce, well, oink ‘er up!!!

Yum!
(“Shut up, gall bladder, you have NO say in this.”)

Yeah! Pipe down! You're getting more whether you like it or not!
but she listened to it about as well as she listened to her patients that rate their pain a 9 while they laugh at memes on Facebook.

Thanks for that list you sent me for Kay.
That is
not a 9.
had the potato pancake with smoked salmon and herbed dill sauce. A BIG hit; I loved it! But this year not so much.
Um.... no. Not a potato pancake fan. Smoked salmon is okay, but I won't go out of my way for it.
But, that’s the beauty of F&W! You win some, you lose some, and in the end, it’s plain old good old fun.
Yes! Agreed!
I'd try even those items that I said I probably wouldn't like.
Because that's the fun of it, isn't it?
That whole "
probably" thing. For all I know, the one thing that I'm
sure I wouldn't like would be the hit of the day!
(remember my Clan MacLeod and Clan MacLaren stories from V&A last year?!)
Nope. Sorry.
If you mean from 2 years ago... in 2016... then yes.
Holy crap that looks good!
Wait! I had that! (also in 2016) It
was good!
Holy Kilted Clansmen!!! Sing me a bagpipe tune and stuff a few more of these in my face.
And.... Sure! I'll sing you a bagpipe tune.
Screeeee!!! Screeeeeeeeee! Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
("stop squeezing the cat!!")
This may well have been my favorite dish of the entire day.
Really!
Steppe bestows upon it a resounding, Please Sir, May I Have Some More Award.
a couple walked up and asked if they could share the table. Of course, they could, and I invited them to join me. After some idle chit-chat, I learned that they had recently moved to Florida so the man could fulfill a longtime dream of his to become a driver for the Safaris in AK. He waited 6 months to get that exact position and he absolutely adored his job.
Huh! Cool!
I love that you can actually do that.
How cool would that job be???
When asked what the favorite part of his job is, he told me that it’s just seeing the animals do what they would naturally just… do. Eat, play, fight…
That's great! I like that he's not bored or jaded with it.
"It's just another job."
Er... no, it's not.
and that right there friends, is what makes it all so very worth it to stop and smell the roses now and again at Disney.
I rarely interact with others. Too busy moving fast. But... that
is a cool story.
By now, I was just plain uncomfortable. I knew that, while I was only 2 countries into WS, there was no way I could possibly conti.....
Yep. You've had quite a bit. No
way you could eat mo...
WHAT’S THAT?! Another food kiosk!!!
(Pipe down, I’mFullO’Meter, there’s always room for dessert and booze!)
Yeah!
And... yes.
The Irish know how to do a lot of things: farm potatoes, make great whiskey from said potatoes, trap Leprechauns after they drink that whiskey, lots of great things.
Solid basis for economic prosperity.
And these are a few more things Ireland does well- brown bread with stout cheese sauce, honey mead, and choco cake with Irish Crème Liqueur.
mmmm... that all sounds really good!
the sauce was way too salty and thick.
then again.... maybe not.
You probably think I’m full now…
And you’d be right.
I would think that. How could you eat that much!?!?
Nothing works off calories better than cruising around WS doing what World Travelers do: shopping, taking in the shows, taking pictures… all that good stuff. Unless you don’t like to shop. Then it’s not “good stuff”, it’s just torture.
Interestingly enough, I don't like shopping, but I do like it in WS.
Maybe because it isn't all women's clothing.

That's a great shot! And grabbing two forks?

Nicely done!
hmmm…. 2 forks, 3 people. Which one of them would get to dine with Steppe?
So which one was it?
I considered that “dinner” and with that, there was no more food that day for me. I’d eaten my fill and had a ball. Life is pretty sweet!
Until the next kiosk!!!!!!
no?
1) I didn’t get my Loaded Mac and Cheese. But the good news is that I can make that anytime I want with this recipe:
Loaded Mac 'n Cheese
Thanks for that! I just might try it.
I also didn’t have room for the Morocco Hummus Fries, or the Kahlua Pork Slider
Too bad. That Kahlua Pork was my favourite thing.
The last day of F&W probably isn’t the best day to sample the wares. Some of the food was not as good as I knew it probably had been on other days earlier in the Festival, or as I’d remembered it from last year.
Good to know.
It’s always more fun when you can go with a tasting partner! You can try more things and compare notes.
Oh, sure.
Now you tell me!
There wasn’t anything that was so disgusting that I gagged on it like last year’s Escargot croissant from France,
Ew.
Well... that's good.
I don’t think I got my beloved Rice Cream this day
What???? How could you not????
Wait..... <re-reads the copious amount of food she stuffed in her face.>
Nevermind.
Food and Wine deserves at least 2 days, possibly 3 or even 4. There's just too much good stuff to try and cram into one day.
I think I did two days. I think. But I do know that I barely scratched the surface.
Pkondz- 30, LwtL, all dogs (2), 40 ornaments, 2nd, EE, no danger detected, rose, ornament or cup of coffee, Tickets to Come from Away, Nice resolutions- 12
Woot! I'm in first!
3) Let’s see how carefully you were reading: How many items did Steppe buy at Food & Wine?
Hmmm.... this is a tough question.
Some of your items that you bought had multiple items.
So...
You bought 12 items,
but you ate/drank 14 items.
Question 3: Did I find my pin before I left the park?
Yep.
5) Does Steppe get ill later that night from her debauchery?
Gonna say your gall bladder took it easy on you.
So, no.
At least, I hope not.
6) I got an Instant Pot the other day. What delicious Disney food should I make in it next week? (In case you’re interested in cooking stuff from Disney, did you know A complete list of Disney recipes existed?)
a) Loaded Mac n’ Cheese
b) Le Cellier Cheddar Cheese Soup
c) Raglan Road Bangers n’ Booz
d) Carrot Ginger Soup from Boma
Didn't know that web site, but do know that recipes are out there.
Thanks!
And.... I'd go with the Boma Soup.
