Day 4 - Tuesday, February 6, 2001

Today we have breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the castle. We waited a few
minutes to be called for our table, but once we were inside, we really enjoyed this
breakfast. Our server called us Princess Tara, Queen Susan and King I Don’t Know Your
Name (remember I told you my husband wouldn’t wear his badge). I thought that was
really cool - how many times in life does someone you don’t know treat you like a queen
and mean it? The food was very good (the french toast was excellent), and all the
characters came around to our table, signed my daughter’s autograph book and had their
pictures taken with her. Everyone called her “princess” and her comment as we got
ready to leave was “I could get used to this princess thing.” This was about $55.00 for
the three of us, but well worth it.

Once we left the castle, it was time for my final surprise for Tara through Jane and the
Pixies. This was her special event, which was called “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs.” Tara
loves animals, so the event was built around that. We went to the wishing well at the
side of the castle, and while Tara was making a wish, a stuffed Lucky (from 101
Dalmations) hit her in the back. When she turned around, there was the dog on the
ground with a tag that said “It’s raining cats and dogs today just for you!” She looked at
me and said “Where did this come from?” I told her it fell out of the sky, but it must be
for her since it hit her directly. She looked all around, didn’t see anyone, so we
continued on with our day. Our next stop was the Buzz Lightyear ride, which we had not
done before. She enjoyed this very much, although I had a hard time figuring out where I
was shooting, and as we left to head for Alien Encounter, a box landed at her feet with
the same message “It’s raining cats and dogs today just for you.” She picked it up,
looked around, didn’t see anyone (just your usual folks touring the park), opened it and
found an O’Malley pin (the alley cat in Aristocats). Again, she couldn’t figure out where
this stuff was coming from, and I pled ignorance. We were going to ride Alien
Encounter next, but the line was too long, so we continued on to The Haunted Mansion.
As the room darkened for the pre-show, she felt a tap on her shoulder, said “Mom, is that
you?” and when the lights came up, another box was on the floor at her feet. She didn’t
open this until we got off the ride, and it was a stuffed white cat (not sure which
character this was). When she turned over the tag, it said “Go to the pet cemetery for
your last gift.” At the pet cemetery, she found a large box on a bench. When she opened
it, it contained a large picture frame with all the Disney dogs and cats around the edges,
like Goofy, Pluto, etc. Inside the frame, where a picture would go, was a note from her
dad and me telling her what a wonderful person she is and how much we love her. I told
her that she could put a picture in it when we got home, but she said she wanted to keep
it just as it was. Then Jane and the pixies appeared, and I introduced them to Larry and
Tara and explained how this had been done. Tara was totally surprised, and very happy
about the event. I was extremely pleased with the way it was done, and would
recommend Jane and her services very highly.

Now that the surprise event was done, we continued to tour, going through the Jungle
Cruise next. It had begun to get warm, so when we were sprayed by some of the
animatronic animals, Tara leaned back to feel the water, just as the CM told everyone to
lean in. He started teasing her, asking if he was speaking in Swahili or something, since
she did the exact opposite of what he asked everyone to do! Very funny moment. Pirates
of the Caribbean was next, which I particularly enjoyed. It had been many years since I
had seen it, so it was fun to go through it on this trip. We then bought Dole Whips and
sat under a tree to eat them. They were excellent!

Next we went to Fantasyland, but it was packed with people and the lines were pretty
long. We got a fast pass for the Winnie the Pooh ride, which was for 3:35 to 4:35. Tara
and I rode the tea cups, and by then we were ready for our afternoon rest. We went back
to the room, took naps, and came back to Fantasyland at 4:30 to ride Pooh. We walked
past all those people waiting in line, some of whom gave us a few looks, but we didn’t
feel at all guilty since fast pass is available to everyone. I loved this ride, thought it was
very original and well done. Next we did It’s a Small World. This is one of my
husband’s favorite rides, because it is the first ride he and I rode together on our
honeymoon in 1984, which was the first time either of us had ever been to Disney World.

We had a PS at Crystal Palace for 6:00 pm, but we were afraid to eat such a large meal
just before doing the roller coaster rides, so I canceled it. We will definitely try it next
trip! Instead, we ate dinner at Cosmic Ray’s. I had a fried chicken sandwich (which was
absolutely delicious), my daughter had an Italian sub and my husband had a burger.
About $25.00 for the three of us. We then traded in our tickets for wristbands - tonight is
e-night! We had about 45 minutes before e-night started, so we went in the arcade beside
Space Mountain. One of the CM’s there gave each of us a free game, calling Tara and I
by name (since we still had our badges on). We played air hockey where you play with
three pucks at one time instead of just one. Great fun, and it was really nice of him to
offer us free games!

I got tired of playing, so I went outside to sit on a bench and people watch for a while.
Who do I see coming toward me but our own Dan Murphy! I jumped up, ran after him
and called his name. He must have thought I was crazy, since he didn’t know who I was,
but I introduced myself and told him I had seen his picture on the DIS. We talked for a
few moments, and he was just as nice in person as he is on the boards. He was meeting
some other DIS’ers for e-night, so we parted ways and I went back to wait for my family.
We watched the fireworks together and then it was time for e-night! Space Mountain
was closed for refurbishment, so we will have to ride that on our next trip, but we still did
a lot of rides during e-night!

We started out by riding Astro-Orbiter. This was fun, but not sure if I would wait lots of
time for it. We then rode Buzz Lightyear again. Once was enough for me, but Tara and
Larry went through about four more times. On to Alien Encounter, which we had never
seen. I actually laughed through most of this, but can see why it would be scary to small
kids. Now that I know what happens, I don’t think I will take the time to sit through it
again. Next we walked over to BTMRR. We had never ridden this, so off we went for
our mining adventure in the dark. It was such a blast that Tara did not want to get off.
The CM said it was a much better ride in the dark, and since I have never been on it
before, I will take his word for it. We rode this ride twice, and then I went to ride Splash
Mountain. Nobody in my family likes this but me, so they waited while I rode. This was
also a much better ride in the dark in my opinion. I had a blast with it. When I got off,
Tara was begging for another ride on BTMRR. So she talked me into getting on it with
her again (Dad had had enough by this time). When we got to the end, the CM said we
could stay on if there was no one waiting in our row. I didn’t see anyone in the row, so I
didn’t get off. Then he said that someone was waiting on the other side. There was a girl
in a wheelchair on that side waiting for our car and I did not see her until he pointed her
out. I felt really bad that I hadn’t noticed her and jumped up out of the car to make way
for her. I apologized to her mother, who said it was no big deal and that she understood
why I hadn’t seen her daughter. As we were leaving, I heard the CM yelling at me to
wait. He said we could wait on that side of the ride for the next train if we wanted,
which was really nice of him. So we rode a fourth time and by this time, my body felt as
if it’s insides were mushed together. I don’t think I have ever heard Tara laugh that much
at one time - she just had a blast. By now, e-night was over so we stopped in the candy
shop on the way out to buy some fudge. While I was waiting for my folks to make their
choices, two people asked me questions about where to pay for candy and where the
photo shop was - they thought I worked for Disney because of my badge! I explained
that I was just a guest, they gave me strange looks, and I laughed all the way out of the
park over that.

Another absolutely fabulous day - on to day 5!

Now I have big tears in my eyes. That was the sweetest story. You are a great mom for doing this for your daughter. :)

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, Imadisneyfanatic. I have had problems getting on the boards to post a reply.

Jane has a web site. Go to www.giftsofalifetime.com and you will see all the special events she and her helpers ("the pixies") do, or you can choose to do an "I love you" event like mine. You fill out a form and e-mail it to her, and she will e-mail you back with ideas for what to plan and a quote for how much it will cost. She will also shop for you at Disney and have a package waiting for you at check-in, which is what I chose to do. I believe you can also have her mail your purchases to you at home, if you want to have them before you leave for WDW. I was extremely pleased with her services, and would use her again without reservation.
