The 7 month switch- Christmas/New Year's Edition!

Anybody try to change out their home resort holiday reservations these past few weeks? I would love to know how everyone did? I imagine there would be a lot of waitlisting involved for December ressies at 7 months- just curious if anyone got lucky!

Waitlist for me on Dec 3rd. Trying to exchange 1BR At SS for BCV.

Not expecting much, however I am 2 for 2 on the Waitlist

I'm on the waitlist at my home resort for a switch from a 1br to a studio. I waitlisted a couple months back, but of course I won't be disappointed with the 1br.

We switched from SSR to BC from 12-18 to 12-23 in a studio and the 23rd to the 26th in a 1 bedroom at the VWL. We were able to switch without having to waitlist.

Hey Brasey! You did get lucky. I heard WL at Christmas was nearly impossible! Did you do day-by-day?

yes, we did day to day and this morning we called and switched our final day the 27th to the VWL.

I just switched to VWL for 12/23-28, 1BR. Didn't do day-to-day. MS said all resorts have a fair amount of availability for these dates, although standard view BWV are gone.

VWL for Christmas, SSR for NYE!!!

I just booked Dec 23rd - Dec 28th for BCV without any problems. Went day by day.

I just called & was able to get a STD View 1 BR at BWV for Dec 18 - 24th.....Needless to say, I was shocked!!

I called again this morning.

Just for grins I checked for all WDW DVC's and No availability at 7 months for NYE for studios anywhere.

SSR had very limited availability for the 1 bedroom for Dec 30-Jan 5, 2008. I went ahead and booked the 1 bedroom as my niece and her children are joining us. We already have a studio at SSR for those dates that I booked as soon as the 11 month window opened.

We are staying in a 1 bed Stand. at AKV Christmas week and then NYE at SSR

I called this morning to try and switch half of our AKV to BCV, We got the 3rd but had to waitlist for the 2nd. I also was put on the waitlist for my parents room. The 2nd and 3rd. Someone snatched up the 3rd when I was booking mine. I have faith that it will come through. I will be canceling SSR from Dec 30th- jan 6th, when it does, I hope that it helps someone out.

LIFERBABE- months ago you pointed out thatNYE will be especially hard this year- with the points dropping on Jan 1 and NYE falling on a Monday -a pretty cheap long weekend can be had for those within driving distance. I think you are right.

I was able to book a BW view studio December 26-31 without problems, but I'm on the waitlist for a BW view studio for the night of December 31. I waitlisted at 1PM on February 1 (exactally 11 months out), and am hoping it'll clear. Keep all fingers crossed!

I just got into SSR for 12-30 through 1-5. We are paying cash on 12-31 since all resorts were booked on points. SSR was the only DVC resort with availability left. Our home resort is OKW. OKW filled up on 1-1 while we were on the phone. We're very excited for our first stay at SSR.

I called in yesterday and, although I did not switch out, I got a 1-br at VWL for 12/16-12/21.
