The 3 Girls Do Disney President's Week! A TR with Tons of Pics! *UPDATE* DONE!!!

Hope you start feeling better real soon. I love your pictures of Lily and the princesses.

Day 6, cont...

Here's a picture of the castle on the way out, heading back to Tomorrowland...

Back at Tomorrowland, first we went to see Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor.

100_2353.jpg

It was a good move, because the show was just about to start when we got there! That show is just so cute. The first time we saw it on our last trip, I wasn't looking too forward to it. Wasn't sure how it would be. I ended up loving it! And it was just as cute this time!

Then we headed over to

100_2354.jpg

I was pretty excited for this one, because we had never ridden it before. Since we loved Toy Story Mania so much, I thought maybe this would be similar.

100_2356.jpg

It was an okay ride, but not near as much fun as TSM! It took me half of the ride to figure out I was the red dot! So needless to say, my score wasn't too good!

Lily did a little better...

100_2359.jpg

I didn't get a picture of my mom's score, but she got something like 122,000!!! She was very proud to have beaten us after we whooped her at TSM!

100_2360.jpg

Next we headed over to the Carousel of Progress.

100_2361.jpg

I always love this! Lily thought it was totally boring last time, but this time she really enjoyed it. We were digging the song, and singing along...There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...:rolleyes1

That was about all we cared about in Tomorrowland. I don't really care to ride Space Mountain, because it's just so herky-jerky. I would have done it if someone else wanted to, but since I was with the 2 chicklets, I decided to skip it.

On the way out of Tomorrowland, we saw a few minutes of the show at the castle from afar..

100_2362.jpg

Then we headed to Toontown.

100_2363.jpg

By the time we got over there, I was really feeling like major crapola! Luckily, Lily wasn't interested in seeing the fairies or any of the other characters, she just wanted to go through Mickey and Minnie's houses and look around. I wish she would at least ride the Barnstormer, but she won't.

Since I wasn't feeling well, I just sat on a bench outside of Toontown and let the girls go check it out. As I was sitting on the bench, I realized I was starting to get the chills, ie, fever. My throat was sore, and my whole head was feeling stuffed up. NOT good. :sad1:

When the girls came back, I told them there was no way I could go on, I had to head back to the room. They decided to head out of MK, too, and take the monorail over to the Contemporary. We had a reservation for Chef Mickey's for dinner, and they figured if they got there early they could check out the resort.

I decided we should take the train from Toontown to the entrance of the park. That's the 2nd time that ol' train came in majorly handy on our trip!!! They headed to the monorail, and I went to the AllStar Movies bus. OMG, by the time I got back to the room, I really felt like I was going to die!

Here are some pics my mom took at Chef Mickey's...

She even took a couple food pictures, bless her heart!

I can't comment on the food, but Mom said it was "okay". They had a good time, but Lily was insulted that Pluto skipped their table!!! Luckily we had already seen him at Epcot!

Meanwhile, when I returned to the room, I was in for a HUGE surprise. Someone had come in to our room and decorated it all over. There were 3 adorable balloon animals, and balloons and sticker streamers all over!! I was shocked! I couldn't wait for Lily to get there and see it! I put on my pjs, took some ibuprofen, jumped in to bed, and fell asleep in about 5 minutes.

When the girls came back, sure enough, they were shocked! My mom figured out the guy who had brought her her luggage earlier in the week was the one who did it, because he told her he loves to make balloon animals. I think she ended up calling and thanking him. Anyway, it was a really magical surprise! Lily and my mom gathered up some of the stuff and took pictures...

So awesome!!!

That is so cool they decorated your room! What a nice way to end the trip!
And I'm so sorry you felt bad the last day! Too much on-the-go just wore you out, eh? You just need to back soon to make up for it! ;)

It was still fairly early, so I went back to bed, and Lily and Mom went down to the arcade. They had a really good time there, I guess.

Day 7, BACK HOME

We had to get on the magical express pretty early on Friday 2/20, I think we were supposed to be down there at 7:30am. I was really feeling awful, so I loaded up on ibuprofen and just hoped I'd make it home. One good thing about being sick was that I could not WAIT to get home and get into my own bed.

We stopped at one of the Disney stores at the airport and got a bunch of snacks and such, and I took this last pic of our trip...

100_2383.jpg

I did end up making it home, and was indeed HAPPY to be home. Glad to see Daddy and the doggies, and most happy to lay on the couch and watch some TV. I felt really bad spreading that crap on the plane, but what can ya do? :confused3 I hope no one got sick because of me. :sad2:

So, now we're home, and back to normal life. But we sure had one heck of a vacation at Disney, and both Lily and I can't WAIT to go back!!!

THE END

Hope you start feeling better real soon. I love your pictures of Lily and the princesses.

Thanks, MEK! Unfortunately, I didn't get better until well after we got home. I had the fever, chills etc for a couple days, which I figured was a virus, then it turned into a sinus infection/cough that lasted over a week. :sad2: I'm all better now, though! And at least I didn't get sick till our last day!! It didn't ruin my trip at all, but now I still have yet to try Chef Mickey's! Maybe next trip!

Hi Amanda!

Yeah, I think I wore myself out. Too many long days back to back, I guess! But you're right, we just need to go back and make up for it! Next time I need to figure out how to slow down a little more, at least spend a little more time at the resort, taking breaks, letting Lily swim instead of 12-14 hours at the parks every day!!

I couldn't believe that guy actually came back several days later and decorated the room. That was REALLY going above and beyond!! What a nice CM!!

Okay, seriously, I almost cried. I really hate to hear about people being sick on vacation especially Disney!! But I know how it feels. Both DH and I had food poisoning at DLR back in September. Luckily it started two days before we left and only lasted 24 hours. We had the chills, fever, etc. I won't bore you with the gross details but our baby girl had fun playing in the hotel room with her gifts we had bought in the park. Honestly, she was a trooper!!! I'm glad that you got sick at the end of your trip. Bless your mother's heart for taking pics of the food at Chef Mickey's! You have to  her for that!!! Overall, you had a great trip and I hate to see it end! :goodvibes

Aww, thanks so much for the sympathy. I'm sorry you have experienced being sick at WDW, too. :sad1: Even worse that it was both you AND DH, so the little one was stuck with 2 sickies! Maybe she was glad to have the downtime and play with her cool new stuff!! I was so glad my mom was still able to take Lily to Chef Mickey's since she was so looking forward to it. And I'm so glad that's really the ONLY thing I missed out on. It was a WONDERFUL trip, and now that we've been home for a while, the good memories definitely outshine that yucky last day!!!

Thanks so much for reading our story! My first trip report was really fun to do!! :cloud9:

So when is the next trip? popcorn::

We are going in a few weeks. So, I may do a TR, but it's only 3 nights and 4 days. Our July trip will be 7 nights and 8 days.
I may do a PTR. :confused3

Oh yes, please do one!!! Even for the short trip! Doesn't have to be a saga or anything! I was really surprised at the interest from the rest of our family in my TR. My uncle in Seattle was especially interested, and would always email me with update requests. It's really a great way to journal your trip and to show family and friends what you were up to, even if they aren't DISers.

I was thinking about November, and would really like to go then. But I'm sorta being guilted into going to Mexico with my sister, her DH and my dad and stepmom then. What is wrong with me that I can't get excited about a tropical all-inclusive resort? I keep saying, it sounds like being at a Disney resort, but without the Disney! I think my aunt and her BF are going to WDW in Nov, so I may send Lily with them and go to Mexico. I'm really struggling with this! sorry, a little :offtopic:

OMG, we were originally going to the British Virgin Islands in July. Believe it or not, I really wanted to do Disney. My DD lovesss Mickey just as much as I do and I knew I had to go with my heart-WDW. It's something about the place. I just told my DSis today that I would rather do Disney than the Beach. She said I was stupid! :confused3

Thanks for the encouragement. I will try to do a TR for April and then start a PTR/TR for July!!:goodvibes

Ugh, they just don't get it, huh? My DSis can't believe I want to go back "already" (haha), and I heard my dad in the background on the phone saying "tell her to get out of her Disney bubble". All I can say is if I miss a Disney trip for this, it better be GOOD! You're lucky your DD is so small. I see Lily growing up before my eyes, and I can't help but wonder how much longer till she's in her eye-rolling stage. :sad1: You're so lucky at least DH seems on board! I'll be watching for that April TR! ;)
