The 2009 U2 Thread - No Line On The Horizon Album & Tour

Can I ask what section you were in? I'm trying to get an idea of what our view will be like.

We were 113A - row 10. So 10 rows up from the floor - if the stage was a clock we would be at 4:00. Make sense? HTH!

Cool!!! Looks like our seats would be in the equivalent of section 114 of the Toronto stadium and we'd be just a few rows up from where you were. Looks like you had great seats!

Great photos guys!

I'm going to both the Sunday and Monday shows at Gillette. We have Red Zone seats for both nights. I decided that my DH and I are too old to wait outside all day this time. We've done it for the previous three tours, but I don't think I can take it this time!

Parking at Gillette is BRUTAL. DH and I were at the Patriots game Monday night--it took 2 hours just to get out of the parking lot (evil lot D10), and another hour to get from the stadium to 95. Once we got past 95 it was smooth sailing home. Lesson learned--when we come down for the U2 shows, we are not parking in the stadium lots. There are lots on route one on the way to the stadium that hire police details to get the cars out of their lots. You'll have to walk a mile or so to get to the stadium, but I would rather do that than be stuck for so long in the lot again.

Thanks for the tip about the lots on Route 1. We'll be arriving via 95, but leaving via 495. Is the only way to get from the stadium to 495 via Route 1 or would we be able to sneak around some of the side roads around the stadium or does everyone use those side roads?

There are side roads, but I don't know what they are, sorry! We go route one all the way.

liamsaunt,

Let us know how Red Zone is!

I have RZ for Raleigh.

Some venues have allowed RZ people to go inside the inner pit!

OMG! What great pics! You guys are getting me so excited!! We will be at the show on the 23rd at Giants Stadium section 120. We had GA tickets but my DH and I are taking our 11 year old DD and my 17 year old sister so I didn't want them in GA. So I sold those tickets on Ebay and had to buy new ones. I was lucky to get pretty decent seats, I hope!LOL I have actually seen them at Giants Stadium before and at that time I was pregnant with DD, so I just had to take her to this concert! We are all also really excited to see Muse. We are big fans of theirs.

I just got two emails for the shows at Gillette. One, which came in reference to our GA tickets that we are not using, was direct from Gillette Stadium. The lots are opening at 3 PM for parking/tailgating. The email states that police will be turning away anyone that arrives earlier. You might be able to park in one of the Route One lots I mentioned if you want/need to get there earlier, not sure. This email also states that GA wristbands will be distributed beginning at 5 PM and they are not allowing a wristband line to form prior to 3 PM.

The other email, which came from U2 RedZone, says people will have access to pick up Red Zone tickets from the gate starting at noon the day of the show. There's also a pickup window the day prior, which is interesting. I thought we had to get them the day of the show.

I have no idea why I haven´t found this thread sooner. DH and I were in Barcelona for the opening night of the tour. It was amazing. Just thought I´d share some pics from the concert.

Awesome pic's!! Thanks for sharing! We're heading over there a year from today for a DCL Transatlantic cruise, would have been amazing to have seen them while we were there. Maybe they will swing back around next year!!

We were in section 116 row 29. Man the show was awesome. We went to the first show in Toronto also. Pics are on my wifes camera. We took the train and by the time we got out we went to union just had enough time to get a icecream cone from DQ and we got on the train.

I predict a free for all when 3 PM rolls around!

Yeah, I am wondering if it will actually work out that way. The last concert at Gillette (country music festival) had the same parking time restrictions, but they ended up opening the lots at 1 PM because there was so much traffic backed up that it created a safety hazard.

I have to pick the kids up from school and deliver them to where they'll be for the night, so I can't get down there until around 5 anyway. Wish me luck!

Good luck!! :goodvibes I'll be waiting to hear how it all turned out!!

Red Zone update: the Red Zone has really good views. We arrived around 6 PM and got a spot on the rail. The pit looked really crowded last night, more crowded than I remember the heart and the ellipse being in prior tours. There are bench seats in the Red Zone area if you want to rest while waiting for the show to start. One bummer is that the bathrooms are porta potties, YUCK! During the show you have acccess to the stadium for regular bathrooms, concessions, etc, but after the show they would not let us up. The Red Zone has its own concessions and retail stand. Here are a couple of pictures. I just had my tiny powershot with me last night. We have Red Zone again tonight and I am bringing my better camera, so I might have some nicer shots to share tomorrow.

OMG - what an incredible show last night!!!!! It was our first U2 concert and the guys did not disappoint! Our seats were really good (not pit or red zone, but still good ;)). Here are a couple of pics

Our camera has a wide-angle lens so our seats were actually closer than this pic shows

Everyone is posting such great pic's!! I'm so jealous that you've already got to spend time with the boys!!

One month to go...:yay:

Boston show last night was amazing! Coming around the corner and seeing the Claw for the first time just takes your breath away. The setlist was incredible--"Unforgettable Fire" Your Blue Room" and an acoustic version of "Stay" were among my favorites since I'd never seen those songs live before. The whole crowd was jumping and singing along to "Elevation" "Streets" and "Vertigo". Our tickets were in Section 115, row 33, which was almost behind the stage, but while we were waiting for Snow Patrol, two guys from the stadium were offering our section tickets for Section 110, five sections closer to the front. We took them and were in Row 11. We had a great view and the sound was terrific. Even the weather was perfect. The only complaint I had was that a few times when the band was at the very front of the outer ring, we couldn't see them because the claw was in the way, but we could see them on the screens most of the time. I hope they come back in 2010!
