Just a heads up for anyone Canadian's specifically from Southern Ontatio, Dave Hunters 14th editon of Along Interstate 75 is now being sold in stores, which my family & I purchased at Chapters. So if your planning on driving to WDW down Interstate 75, check out his book it's amizing & lists every thing you need to know.

how is the drive down to WDW?
Compared to Flying out of Buffalo is it that much cheaper to drive? Last year we paid $900.00 to fly out of BUffalo in December. How much do you think i would spend driving down? I drive and SUV.. so not exactly cheep on gas. :confused3

Yes, it would be cheaper to drive, but then again "time is money". I can't remember exactly how much we spent in gas - I'd say not more than $400 return in a mini van (which got almost the same gas mileage as my SUV that I have now). We stayed one night in a Red Roof Inn in Locust Grove, Georgia - $60 for the night. We left Ontario after supper the first night, drove through the night, stopped in Georgia mid afternoon and then arrived at WDW the following day around supper time. If you will be renting a car in Florida, it would be much cheaper to drive. Flying, of course, is much quicker and less stressful (especially going through Atlanta!).

Try using the AAA Gas Calculator

We flew this time, and the girls missed their stops at Cracker Barrel and Waffle House-they've asked to drive next time!

Add on the wear and tear on your vehicle, the overnight stop etc. The time in the car with the family is actually a plus in my book-and I've driven with up to 5 kids, (infant, 2½, 7. 8. 9 :earseek: ) without anything like a DVD player! When we drove, though, we made it about the kids, stopping when necessary and we weren't on time constraints.

Nowadays, I like the "quickness" of flying, but it really isn't "2½ hours". It's that plus the time (up to 3 hours) ahead, plus the travel to the airport (another 3 for us), plus time at the other end (at least ½ hour to get the luggage), plus waiting for ME to get us there (another hour or so). That's a days drive and we'd be half way there.

ETA the fact that we ALWAYS have Dave Hunter's Along I-75 with us! It is a GREAT way to pass the time!

That's a long-winded message to say that you have to weigh out the pros and cons for your family! Everyone is different, and the best way to go can be too!

Hi. :wave2: We love driving down to Disney. Dh and 3 females :dance3: Our two DD's will be 14 & 18 when we go in March.. DD17 still has that Disney in her. Its just leaving her DB for sooooooo long.(A week) :rotfl: Us three girls can't waite for the palm trees and sunshine.Oh did I mention shopping at Ross. I have to go get the new I-75 book, I am the one who reads it all the way down and back. I have to see how many Walmarts and Targets we pass.
How much does the book change per year? and Whats the price now?

The book costs $29.95 Canadian & as for any new changes, I am still reading it to notice any. I do know this year he took out a Golden Coral in Dalton, Georgia off exit 333 because there was never one off that exit.
