This trip was not planned at all in fact, having been to WDW for a wonderful fortnight in August, we were having a bit of a break from Disney for a little while (six previous trips to DLP, two to WDW).
However, that all changed at the drop of a hat when I was doing a bit of browsing (as you do!
) and saw a picture of Jack Skellington on the DLP website. Now, DS is almost 10, a coaster freak that still loves Disney because, as he says, Its got a bit of magic in it! I know this feeling will probably change pretty soon but Nightmare Before Christmas is his favourite Disney film and he would love to meet the characters. He knows they can be seen in California and has begged to go there but has NO idea they come out in Paris!
Could we do a trip just to meet the characters? Well, having read a few reviews of Halloween at the parks, we decided we would go for it! Weve not been at this time of year before so there will be lots of new experiences. This could be the last time he will feel the magic and I know it will mean so much to him!
Due to work commitments (we both work in education) we arent able to go until Friday and, of course, it is Halloween weekend! We know the weekend will be horrendously busy but we plan to make good use of EMH and just soak up as much atmosphere as possible!
It is a trip of surprises first of all, DS does not know we are going at all he thinks were off to Devon to visit his grandparents! Itll be interesting to see at which stage of the journey he works it out!
Second, as we are there for the 31st, it would have been silly to miss the Halloween party so we have tickets booked for that!
And third, we have spent the last week making costumes for the party! We will bring them out on the Saturday evening we are going as Lock, Shock and Barrel, the trick-or-treaters from NBC! I know DS will be over the moon.
This is us, at the Hoop-de-Doo revue in August.
Anyway, only 5 days to go (and two masks still to make as well as some restaurants to book)!!!!
