On the Copper Creek side but still at the Lodge! We're doing a quick 3 night stay for Flower and Garden and I'm counting the days.

That led to a 6:45 wake up for me, followed by a shower, quickly followed by quite the bit of uneasiness while blow drying my hair, followed by me going back to bed. Festivities from the night before were clearly getting in the way of rope drop and I felt much better when Melinda texted that she as well was not quite ready for rope dropping this day!

Good call on taking it slow. I hate mornings like this. You wake up and you think ok not too bad I got this and then it slowly creeps in. If I'm gonna wake up feeling bad I just want to wake up feeling bad. Screw thinking all may be right with the world.

I was able to introduce them to one of my absolute favorite snacks over at the Poly; the famous Capt. Cook's Pulled Pork Nachos!

YUM!!!!! I'm already thinking when we drive down there this will be my first meal. Who knows when we'll get there and after being cooped up in a car all day a walk to the poly for some nachos and dole whip will be just what the disney dr ordered

The work kind of ruined our dinner plans; but I needed to keep going and get a wedding group contract done as it had to go back and forth a few times and was due DONE in 2 days.

Sorry you had to do work, but wedding contract sounds epic. Congrats!!!!

This is definitely on my list of places to try. Never been there but this burger and their vibe seems just my style.

Yak & Yeti is basically stating their too busy these days with limited capacity to seat Landry's members right away. They did seat us right away in July but we waited about 20 minutes in Nov. and I think about 30 this day? I mean all in all not bad for getting a TS with no reservation but still a tad annoying.

Ugh. Sorry you had to wait but I do get that its gotta be harder with less tables. Though where are the Tuna nachos lady? As good as Captain cooks are these are far better. Like mushrooms you don't even know its seafood I'm sure

I do not usually eat wonton soup as I'm more a hot and sour or miso soup girl, but this was fantastic! I will get this any and every time I return!

I'll have to try and remember this being so good. Looks like its the perfect portion size for my tiny human with a bird sized stomach.

Eleven days to go until we're back in the World! I don't know if I listed all the places we're booked to eat; if I did I apologize. It's hard to remember everything I gotta remember!
Here goes if I'm not repeating myself:

Lunch Raglan Road

We haven't been to Raglan Road in YEARS and weren't thrilled last time we went, but during the midst of the COVID shut down Steve bought a huge RR gift certificate to support them. So I figured we should use it! And since we added an extra day.........why not I know I said we're at CCV but for our last night we're going to SSR. CCV isn't available but SSR is with my discount and we really enjoyed a quick stay there not so long ago! Other than that you know as usual our plans are up in the air as much as they can be and those dining plans are subject to change! What isn't subject to change is that Steve will be eating LOTS of his shrimp at the Flower and Garden Festival.
Here he is enjoying some of that wonderful Steve shrimp with our good friend Kari @kastoney in 2019:



We also hope to meet up with a couple DIS friends while there and I actually may meet up with a bunch of clients who will be there, just to say hello!

Now back to the TR! Since I finished up the last update with our night at Il Mulino I think it's a good time to enter the way back machine again and return to our Thanksgiving 2020 family trip!

So after our arrival day with some time at Epcot it was Thanksgiving Day! We were starting out at Animal Kingdom and being that this was really just the first time "crowds" were showing up again at the parks, the CM's were all lined up saying hello and clapping when we got there!



We had a great time and crowds were not bad at all! Two safari's with all the animals, Ricky's favorite FOP, lunch at Yak and Yeti and for the first time in ages we got the kids on Maharajah Jungle trek where this big guy was showing off:



We had dinner reservations at the Boathouse which was new to everyone but me; did some shopping first at Uniqlo for Chris:



He loves a certain type of t shirt there and also loves the string bags....whatever makes you happy! Me taking this picture didn't make him happy but dinner made him and everyone else happy; delicious! I mean look at those rolls for starters:



Oh and how cute did the front of one of our favorite haunts look, all done up for the holidays!



Once back at the resort we grabbed treats and went to the room. Pretty view from the bridge between the CR and BLT:



That was our first full day and our 6th time being in the World for Thanksgiving; it won't be our last. Next up we finally got to the MK but I'll leave you with this - smile, it's coming through

Um........NOPE If it were 10 years ago it would have been a pleasant and surprising "oops" but not it would be a "how do I run away from my own body" type thing! But we will And we have our Sept trip with J and J to look forward too anyway!

Good morning! I follow all your trip reports and love reading them, but am the worst at posting. Saw you have an ADR for Terralina - have you been before and would you recommend? My two younger boys (who are both very close in age to yours!) and I are squeezing in a trip in May and looking for a place outside the parks to have dinner our first night. Terralina is available, but I haven't heard much about them.

Sounds fabulous! I am adding another trip to my roster of "please can I finally get to Disney" and am booking for March 12-19th. I am booking at BRV for the 14th-19th with my DVC points and am thinking of trying out either CBR or CSR for 2 the 12th -14th. I mean by next March, I should be able to travel, right???

What a fun evening. I've never been able to get to WDW for Thanksgiving because of working in retail....it's literally the worst week EVER!! Overnight set-up, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday. Your trip sounds like WAY more fun than that, LOL!

I found it to be so well done and a great addition that fits perfectly with the storyline.

I know it seems like we didn't do that much and I guess maybe we didn't; 3 rides, a drink stop, lunch and some sitting/relaxing time in there. But I have found AK to be MORE enjoyable and MORE relaxing Post-COVID

That's what my next trip is going to be. Slow, not much.... ride, sit, eat..... sit.... sip... sit.....

We closed the restaurant down as we often do; the manager ended up coming out around 10:30 with both servers and chatting with us. She was friendly and fun but I think it was like an underhanded "we're so glad you came and spent lots of money! Now you're our last table here so please GO HOME" lol.

I actually kind of like that. Very personalized and I honestly don't think it's done in a "get out of here!" spirit. Classy!
