OK folks its getting to that time of the year again. Brush fires are starting daily and almost hourly. Its a matter of time before the 528/Beeline/Beach line or the 417 either gets closed for a given period of time or has significantly reduced visibility with delays. If you are driving yourself, and staying near WDW give your self plenty of time to travel,and now would be a real good time to look up alternate routes, and make plans.Keep an eye on the local news stations, WESH.com, WFTV.com or Clickorlando.com, as they will tell you if a given road is closed.

Thanks for the info. We don't like fires out here in Oregon, either...last year's many fires cut down on the number of hiking trails available in the Gorge, along I-84. We even had ash on our cars in Portland.

Another good source when actually driving there is to use Waze on your phone. It will be especially helpful if you need to take a detour.
