That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

Ick, I really hate the bugs. And the lizards. Everytime I go to visit my family in Florida we always end up chasing lizards out of the house. What causes those bugs to get so big??

The lizards made for great entertainment last week. We would watch 'em scurry along the window sill outside of the POR food court. We'd have to look down so we didn't squish one as we walked to and from the bus stop. Cute little guys. Not even sure what they are, truthfully. Little greenish/brown critters who would puff out their chin bright orange every now and again. As I say, made for good entertainment. popcorn::

:yay: :yay: Me, me! I love getting postcards. Scratch that I really love getting real mail. Darn e-mail. It's convient, but no one sends real mail any more.

Well, I'd totally love to send you one! I'm making a list. Just PM me your address.

It's just the bugs I mind. The lizards I love!!!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY !!!!

I hope you all have a happy and SAFE Fourth! Leave the fireworks to the professionals, people!

I will have an update for ya'll tomorrow, as I've been able to take care of a few things on my 'To Do' list (both the Disney version and the 'Holy CARP my house is a pit' version).

See ya real soon!

Looking forward to your update, hon! Hope you have a happy fourth!:goodvibes

Happy Fourth Tink!

Hopefully it isn't raining too hard at your house. It is a pretty gray day up here in NH.

Thanks for the discount alert, everyone. Just picked myself up a pair of crocs capris for ~$32. 20% off and free shipping -- can't beat that. It does show up automatically when you log in -- discount code is on the main page. :woohoo:

Looking forward to hearing about the progress on your lists, Tink. Funny I have the same house/pit list running here as well ;)

So, although your beloved Tink has been an absentee DISer, that doesn't mean she's been DIS idle. Or American Idol. Either. And both.

I've actually been a busy little...catterpillar. Because BF is allergic to bees. And beavers build dams and I gave up my architecture career at University #2.

Beware, I have A.D.D. today. Consider yourself warned.

In the past few days I've started to get really, REALLY, no, I'm serious, TOTALLY stoked for this trip. And I say that it's all due to working on my trip binder. And so, because I have been so enthused, I've gotten a decent amount of trip related stuff done (from the list in Chappie 28):

1. Book the return flight home.
~LegoMom, you will be happy to know that this task is now complete. On Thursday afternoon prior to leaving work, I booked us a flight home. ::sigh:: Happily, though, we will not be flying from Tampa into Hartford, CT followed by a 90 minute drive home. Instead, we'll be flying from Tampa directly into Providence. The flight leaves Tampa around 12:30 p.m., allowing us to sleep in a little bit on our last day, and is non-stop, getting in around 3:20 p.m. While the flight cost us about $30-$35 more each, we deemed it worth it. As much as I don't want to even consider coming home from a vacation that hasn't happened yet, it's still good to know that it (in theory) should be an easy trip home.

2. Sign and return the confirmation form to Happy Limo.
~Done and Done. I've never used this service before, but have read a number of favorable reviews. The prices are all pretty much the same and there are no real discounts since we're only traveling one way. The last time I went and used a car service, I used Tiffany Towncar. While I had no problems, I thought it was good to try something new.

4.Purchase one additional pair of Croc flippies .
~This one will likely be done today(possibly prompting an additional update). I was too distracted over the weekend to get these online. Thanks to everyone who sent me codes. I'm going to try and see which ones are still good. If the 20% off ones are no good, I'll use the 15% Entertainment one. I don't want to wait much longer on these as I'll want to break them in a bit, and I'm not going to cry over roughly a few bucks.

7. Get the trip binder decorumacated and all put together.
~This is the accomplishment I'm most proud of. I don't have any pictures right now but will do an update later this week so that y'all can see. I've filled its pages and it's happily sporting it's Jack-emblazoned cover. There is still more to do, but I got a good bulk of it done. I'll post more details when I post the pics.

10. Call and request the Tokelau building at the Poly.
~Done. I called and spoke with Alden, who thankfully was channeling Madison "The Practically Perfect Polynesian Reserving" CM and happily added my request for the Tokelau building onto our reservation. She really was a peach to work with and chatted me up about the trip, the resort, etc. while waiting for screens to load.

12. Confirm airport transportation from home.
~This one is mostly done (which is like being mostly dead) as BF will now be able to pick us up when we come home. He may go in late to bring us TO the airport as well, but we'll have to see about that. He says yes, but that was also while he was in the middle of either watching TV and/or eating, meaning he was only 46% listening.

14. Put together a list of names and addresses for postcards.
~I've entered, in my wee trip journal, the names of the DISers who have (and haven't) specifically requested post cards from the World.

Seven down and seven to go.

I also realized one good and one bad trip related thing.

Good #1 - the week of our trip will be the last week the Pleasure Island clubs will be open and so we still have a wealth of nighttime options.
Bad #1 - Cirque du Soleil will be dark for the entire week of our trip. :sad1:

That's all I've got for now. I'm hoping to give you a binder-related, pictorial update extravaganza by midweek. Keep your eyes peeled.

An update, an update, Tink did an update!

Now I need to thoroughly read it!:lmao:

Boy, your humor is all over the place. I LIKE IT!:rotfl2:

In the past few days I've started to get really, REALLY, no, I'm serious, TOTALLY stoked for this trip.

That's funny, me too. I THOUGHT I felt a disturbance in the force.

1. Book the return flight home.
Check!

2. Sign and return the confirmation form to Happy Limo.
Check check!

4.Purchase one additional pair of Croc flippies .
Um, get on that sister. I need to live vicariously through your shoe purchases, 'kay? And with that I have something to add...

Buy me, Tink! Buy me!!!!

7. Get the trip binder decorumacated and all put together.
Oooo, you are a far better woman than I. Mine is on the way...but I still haven't thought of a creative cover. It will come to me, I know it will.

10. Call and request the Tokelau building at the Poly.
You must have that good CM vibe going on!

12. Confirm airport transportation from home.
Make sure to reconfirm. I am fully aware of the cognizant levels of the televsion watching male, i.e., slim to none.

14. Put together a list of names and addresses for postcards.

This is seriously sweet of you. If we weren't going at virtually the same time, I would demand a postcard....although you will be there longer.;)

Good #1 - the week of our trip will be the last week the Pleasure Island clubs will be open and so we still have a wealth of nighttime options.
I hope you get to go. So I can live vicariously through you. :::sigh:::

Good update, girlie! I was wondering how your weekend was, and where you were. I am pleased to see it was chock full o Disney.:goodvibes

Dude, that's what makes reading your PTR so FUN!!!! :hyper:

Ok, must be something in the New England air, cuz I picked up the same "bug" at roughly the same time!!!!! The last few days I have just been like "OMG we're going to Disney World and it's coming SOOOOON!" I have been making notes in my PassPorter, downloading uber-cool worksheets from the PassPorter member site, and the special stuff bought just for the trip is starting to come together in the spare drawer in the den (when it starts singing the "Yo, Ho, all together..." pirate song, I'll know The Gathering is near!! :rotfl: )

Can't wait!!!

.

Yay for getting stuff done! Is there anything more satisfying than creating a "done" list?

Yes. Yes, there is. But we (or I, at least) take our jollies where we may (even if they're vicarious). :rotfl:

Just started reading this trippie and I'm only into mid-April, but I'm hooked! You have a fun style to you and as I read it I can actually "hear" you and I laugh along with your, uh, assuming you are laughing, right?

I am envious of your completed tasks. :worship:
I hope to have one of these completed tasks lists soon.

TK --- I so want those crocs. :yay:

Tink, you have been a busy little...caterpillar!!! :lmao: I am in awe of all the stuff you accomplished this weekend!!!

Can't wait to see that binder!!! popcorn::

It shall be mine.

Oh yes.

Oh wait.

THEY shall be mine.

THEY.

Because I did order a full pair and not just one lone flip flop. Because really, who wants to limp-flop all over the place?

So, yes, they have been ordered.

In coral.

Size 8.

Those puppies have been ordered up and paid for. And will hopefully arrive in short order. So Tink can Croc-hop all over the place and decide if maybe not one but TWO pairs of these even-cuter-than-her-previously-bought-Croc-flops are in order.

Holy Carp. I think I need to be committed to some institution for the shoe-buying obsessed. Instead of putting you in a straight jacket, they surround you buy piles of shoes, all of which are either too small or too large for you.

And TK - LOVE me the idea of those Disney Croc flippies but I can't stomach the color combo and alas, that's the only color said style comes in.

The horror.

I....AM....DED!!!!! The limp-flop?

Oh, lord...:rotfl2:

Is that like the opposite of...never mind...;)

So, yes, they have been ordered.

Congrats, girlie!

Hey, you're a size 8! Werid thing in common #2001.z...hmmmm....I wish I had known that before I mailed that little sumpin to you.

That would be the oppostie of Tink heaven, right?

I am soooooooo debating those Crocs.

I have green capris.

They would match.

Those Crocs have Mickey on them, dagnabit!:lmao:
