(original poster here) Don't be scared! If you are here on DisBoards, you are in a good position. Please note that I said that we are having a pretty decent trip. I am a little disappointed however don't take away from that that we are not having a good time. We certainly are! And you will too! But please do all the planning and preparation that you can do. It really IS necessary right now.

You will have a great time. Stay flexible, educated, and adjust your expectations and those of your family. Seriously, this is Disney. It is a good place to be Don't be scared... be prepared. Once you have done that, relax and let the Disney goodness spread over you....

I just don't get it though...I've been checking the MDE app basically since summer ended, and pretty much every day things have had waits for like 30 mins or less (with the exception of TSM, soarin, test track and like...peter pan and jungle cruise)

We were there from Nov 14th -19th (over a weekend, even) and didn't wait more than 15-20min MAX for any ride, the entire time we were there. We did FP+ for the major rides (Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Safari, EE, Soarin, Test Track, TSM, Star Tours....) As a matter of fact, DS13 and DS7 rode Star Tours about 7 times that day and never once waited more than 15 minutes to get on the ride.

Other than planning our ADR's for dinner and the FP+, we wandered around the parks and went on whatever we felt like when we felt like it.

I'm not an overplanner, so I guess when my plans change based on crowds/breakdowns/etc, I am not freaked out?
