That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

Dude I swear you could be my twin! I am also obsessed with DD (which I also get from my Dad), I love love love Popeye's, and I'm 31 years old and STILL color. I was actually LOOKING for a new coloring book to buy when we were in WDW in October and after two days I forgot to keep looking! :rotfl2:

I laughed so hard at the fart story! Lumar farts so loud he's literally woken up the neighbors (we live in an apartment building with very thin floor/ceilings). So now we call those really loud ones a Neighbor Waker. Granted, he's lactose intolerant and insists on eating dairy anyway.... :faint:

I know there was something else I wanted to comment on but my dinner just got here and I suddenly can't think anymore soooo....if I remember I'll add it later! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I can't believe I missed this until now!

Looks like your trip down was pretty good, even though it was SOOO COLD up here when you left! I actually thought about it that day, knowing you were leaving via FB.

You're here now! That's what matters. :thumbsup2

It was pretty good. I was glad to escape the cold. I'm so over these frigid temperatures.

24 hard boiled eggs? :rotfl2: That's awesome. No wonder it was a colorful night in the hotel room.

Hahaha. It was definitely colorful. And stinky. :rotfl2:

I am a color-er myself; I have that exact same coloring book. I love the princess bride one too!

It's such a great way to spend the time in the car.

Also, I LOVE Chick Fil A. Gotta have it every chance I get while in Florida.

Such cool horse pillows at SSR; so adorable. Disney horses are always a great addition to the arsenal of characters; too bad you can't have a meet and greet for one of them! I'd like to meet Maximus, or Prince Philip's horse - what's his name again?

Can't wait for more!

I know it's not SUPER close to you, but there is a Chick-fil-a in Vernon Hills now. :goodvibes

I love the horse pillows. Those are definitely newer. I don't remember them being there before.

Samson. That's Prince Philip's horse's name. ;)

Coloring books are awesome! I don't know why everyone thinks they are just for kids. :confused3 I got some in a stocking a few years ago for Christmas and was very excited. :rotfl2:

The room at Saratoga Springs looks nice. Those pillows on the couch are fantastic. I'd have been tempted to pack one away when I left. :rotfl:

Over the door hangers are an amazing invention. And I'm sure with 3 people sharing a room it helped keep everyone's stuff seperated and prevented it from being lost. :thumbsup2

I don't know why everyone thinks they're for kids either! That's awesome that you got one in your stocking!

I was very tempted to take the pillows. :lmao:

The over the door organizer certainly does help keep everything separated with three people in the room. I would use it even if I was traveling alone though. I just like a clean sink. :rotfl2:

I'm finally here! :cool1:

Yay!!!!

Haha, OMG I almost just died reading your poot story. Seriously, we have the same sense of humor, it's ridiculous. :rotfl2:

Don't you just love meeting people that have the same sense of humor? This is why we definitely need to have a trip that overlaps someday!

I haven't driven to Disney since I was in high school so I can only imagine how boring it must be as an adult...but coloring books can make it fun! I actually almost bought a princess coloring book the other day but I talked myself out of it. :confused3

It's not so bad actually. It helps that I am an amazing car sleeper. :rotfl:

Ooh, SSR looks so pretty! I would love to go wander around there someday, it looks nice in all of the pictures I see!

Can't wait to read more!

You should definitely check our SSR someday! It's a really pretty resort. Definitely the kind that you can just wander around.

Whoa. That's just freaky! We are kindred spirits my friend. DD and Popeye's are the best ever. 30 somethings who color unite!!!

:faint:

My Dad can wake people up through walls too. Now, he's not lactose intolerant. He's simply just full of gas. :rotfl2:

I know there was something else I wanted to comment on but my dinner just got here and I suddenly can't think anymore soooo....if I remember I'll add it later! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

No worries, dinner is super important!

Slow DIS. Son had surgery. Mom ended up in hospital. MORE SNOW! And busy office days and here I am playing catch up again.

Let's see what I can remember?

I can't believe your mom forgot the bread.

I wish I could knit.

I love that you color...such fun (and I love new crayons).

Not bad for driving down...I'll have to think about that on a future trip.

:yay::yay::yay: you are at Disney.

I enjoyed the photos from Saratoga (it's been awhile since we visited there).

Dinner looks absolutely yummy.

I am so getting one of those shoe things so I can keep my sink empty. Mark has "little" bottles of everything and it is always so congested.

Hope you don't get a lot of snow tonight/tomorrow. They are predicting 5.1 inches for us.

No worries at all! I'm glad that everything went well with Mark's surgery, even though Alisha will have to put up with driving him everywhere! :rotfl2:

I couldn't believe she forgot the bread either! Everything else was fine and bam. No bread.

I can come down and teach you how to knit and crochet anytime. My Momma has taught me well. ;)

I love coloring! Sometimes it just relieves stress.

It really wasn't too bad. The only thing about driving is that it makes me more tired, cause of all the sitting doing nothing. Funny how that makes you tired.

Dinner was super yummy. Hit the spot.

It's such a good idea, isn't it?! I hate the tiny bottles of everything too, and I am the owner of a lot of them! I just don't like them all over the sink.

They're predicting between 2-4 inches for us by tomorrow afternoon. I just can't keep up anymore. :faint:

fun updates - I love the selling points on your coloring books: "5 books in 1" "with Tiaras!!!!!"

Seemed like a pretty painless trip down. Hope you are enjoying Allegiant - we love that series ... won't spoil anything if you haven't finished it yet

Yeah for getting your request and being so close - I find that matters most when returning from the parks and your dogs are tired ... nothing worse than having to sleep 1,340 miles on tired feet to get to your room

That is a crazy Ariel doll ... like she just got those eye drops the eye doctor puts in your eyes. Look kids, it's Eye Exam Ariel!!!!

I choked a little bit on my water with laughter when I saw that Derpy Ariel. How can Disney sell that?! It looks like a horrible (though hilarious) knock off!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of the week! I hope the Onion and blueberry cream cheese was the lowest point. Only up from there I think!

Great update! :)

Thanks!

I know. Every time I show my purchases throughout the trip, I think I'm going to add the tagline "with tiaras!

It was pretty painless. I did like Allegiant. I finished it on the trip back home. I couldn't put it down, but I didn't do much reading in Disney. I believe that it ended the only way that it really could. I'm glad that she took it there.

Right?! Good being nice and close to the food and drinks. :rotfl2:

Dude! That's EXACTLY what they look like when they dilate my eyes! :rotfl:

Hehehe. I think they sell it because littles don't pay enough attention to notice. :lmao:

Yes, that indeed was a pretty low point. Because as a whole, as long as I'm in Disney, it's not that bad in the end. :thumbsup2

Day 3 - Sunday January 19, 2014

"Why Must I Always Park In Timbuktu?!"

It was here. Our first Disney day! Man, let me tell you, it feels so rewarding to be that day when you drive and essentially spend a day and a half getting getting to Disney. But I'm not complaining! I'll do whatever it takes to be in Disney.

We all got up around 7am. Well, let me clarify. When I say "we", I mean, Mom and I. Popadon?

Snnnnnoooooooorrrrrreeeeee.

We let him sleep until we've gotten ready. He needs his beauty sleep you know. He's gotta look good!

So on this day, we had good temps on the horizon. The afternoon was supposed to be up to 70 degrees. That morning was a little bit on the cold side, but the afternoon was going to be nice. Definitely better than the -20 degrees that I had left behind in Illinois.

I'm also a goober and I did pictures of my outfits each day. Because yes....they are Disney outfits!

Gotta love my nice hanging organizer in the back. Get used to it folks!

Today's makeup look was based on the Tangled floating lanterns. I thought it turned out pretty nicely.

We had breakfast in the room, consisting of oatmeal. It's always a good meal. Plus, I had something else in mind when we arrived at the park. Hehehe. It saves time too!

8:30am rolled around we were all dressed and fed. And ready to go! We hopped in the car and drove to Hollywood Studios. I had all of our FP+ reservations ready to go. This would be our first experience with it.

On the way to the park, Yeti was insistent on a selfie with me. I think I can oblige.

Now, my experience with parking at Disney is this. We pull in and immediately get sent down a brand spanking new row. Meaning....we are all the way at the end. Today was no different. I was really hoping that we would get closer parking. It wasn't meant to be.

Me: Man! We're in Timbuktu again!

Popadon: That's not Timbuktu, that's Timbukthree!

The man seriously thinks he's the funniest thing on the planet.

However, the morning was fresh and new! So we had no problem walking excitedly to the entrance! I would have jogged if I had been inclined to, but I didn't want to leave the P's behind.

When we got to the entrance, we took a few quick pictures to commemorate the occasion.

Mom went to a ticket booth to double check about Memory Maker. The funny thing is, that's exactly what the instructions said to do. The CM said there isn't much that needs to be done. It was tied to the band already and she double checked it. She needed to verify that we didn't need a card anymore, and we didn't.

Pop and I wasted time together while Mom was up there chatting with the CM.

After that, it was time to head in. Yay!

We get to the entrance. And I'm all excited to get into the park. I excitedly hold my Magic Band up to the Mickey. And...blue.

CM: Try another finger.

Me: Why would I try another finger? This is my AP that I've had since July.

Try again. Blue light.

Dad: Try another finger.

Me: I ALWAYS USE MY INDEX FINGER!!!!

Flames....on the side of my face.....only because everyone thought I was an idiot and was using the wrong finger! No people. I always use that finger. The band not working didn't bother me. LOL.

Another CM at the entrance took my card AP, which I had handy for this exact situation and swiped it. She also scanned my band to link them back together. She said it should be fine, but that I could check at the MyDisneyExperience area up in the front. All righty. I headed in there and had them double check it. Everything at this point was a-okay. (I'm going to put you all out of your misery right now and say that this was the only point where it didn't work. EVERYTHING else worked like a dream the entire trip).

So now I'm in the park. Yay!

And I have NO IDEA what to do with myself. See, this FP+ business threw me for a loop. All my plans were made. No FP to run for. Everything was done. Normally, I have a mission. Run to TSM, push little kids out of the way, run over the old folks, and obtain a FP. But now.....I had no purpose.

Well, other than taking pictures of Yeti that is.

Our first FP+ reservation wasn't upon us yet. I checked the MDE app to find out what the wait time for TSM was. 70 minutes already. Bleh. Thankfully, I had FP+ for it later. So what to do, what to do.

Second breakfast! No seriously, I'm like a Hobbit. Second breakfast. Elevensies. It's a wonder I was able to lose 40 pounds. Hahaha.

One thing was calling my name. It was Starring Rolls.

This is an attraction, right? I think it is.

I decided I would be having one of these on a future date.

That's more like it!

Oh, and this!

Mom and I, we split all kinds of things. It's a beautiful arrangement really. We have such similar taste that often we want the same things, but can't decide. So she'll get one thing, I'll get another, and then we split. She's the best.

In this case, we split the red velvet cupcake and the napoleon. Popadon got a croissant, since he can't eat sugar.

Of course, I had to eat it the sandwich way. Because everyone should eat giant cupcakes this way.

Pop's and my exchange over the cupcake:

Me: Do you want a weeny bite?

Pop: Yes, a weeny bite.

Me: Is your mind blown?

Pop: *drool*

Me: You gonna go in a diabetic coma now?

Pop: That's okay. We're going on Tower of Terror after this. It'll scare the sugar out of me!

For real, this became a thing for us on the rest of the trip. "Did that scare the sugar out of you?"

During our cupcake break, I was messaging Megan (TinkerbellLuvr7), who was working at DHS that day, but not until 11am. We were making plans so I could swing by and say hey!

We started to head out, and the cupcake brought out another perfect exchange:

Pop: You gonna run today?

Me: We'll see. You know, I would have to run like 5 miles just to burn off a whole red velvet cupcake.

Mom: So since we only ate half, we have to run 2 1/2 miles?

Pop: SEE! That's why I only take a weeny bite. Now I only have to run down the block.

Finally, our first FP+ reservation was upon us. Of course, we had to have a potty stop before heading over. Riddle me this though? 30+ stalls in the bathroom. Many are open. I come out of mine, and a woman literally pushes past me, hurtling me into the door, just to get into what had been my stall.

Weirdo!

Bladders empty, it was time to head off to the lovely Tower of Terror!

Magic Bands worked like a charm and we headed straight in. I really liked it so far.

Momma was scared as usual.

She needed to turn to Yeti for protection.

She will only do this once a trip. Other than that, no more. She's not a fan of heights at all, so one time is a compromise she's willing to make.

We had the coolest CM ever that was totally into his job when we got to the elevator. He kept waving creepily forever and ever until the doors closed. I got a picture, and this picture turned out totally scary! Dude, for real, he looks like a ghost or something!

Favorite thing on the ride that I love to do? I will scream at the top of my lungs at a completely random time just to scare everyone else. Works like a charm. You know you want to ride with me, don't you?

Up next: My ride photo fail! Oh, and this.

Huh?

Love the outfit and the matching eye color...very, very nice.

Do you know what they told me when my MB wouldn't work? They told me it was probably because of my "nails" and I don't put my finger in the finger thing the same way because of the length of my nails. :confused3:confused3 Okay...whatever.

The yummy items in the Starring Rolls case have me craving a snack (plus I worked up an appetite after shoveling all that darn snow tonight).

Pick me. Pick me. Pick me. Yes, I want to ride TOT with you. I can't think of anything that would be more fun. :)

Great photos.

Pink hair? And ride photo fail? Can't wait.

Great updates!!

awe man, the conversations with popadon are just hilarious, like, best day ever.

Second breakfast is a very important thing in daily life!

Sucks that TSM was already that big of a wait, but at least you got onto tot with the fast passes!

Glad that the band didn't give you any more troubles!

Hooray another trip report for me to fall behind on ;):cool1:

I bet it felt sooo good to drive away from ol' cranky man winter. I love coloring! I have always been a tad ocd, when I was a kid I would only color with sharp crayons, I remember having a crayon sharpener too. One can never be too prepared.

The family that farts together, stays together :rotfl: I remember when my boyfriend Evan and I reached that "comfortable zone" he started saying he was going to step on a duck. :p spoiler alert: there is never an actual duck

chik-fil-a is awesome! I have never lived near one so if I see one while traveling I have to stop.

Arriving at the hotel and walking into the room is the greatest feeling :cloud9: I can never relax, I am type A to the extreme, but the moment I enter the room I feel so relaxed. Of course that is followed by immediately unpacking everything in a very neat and clutter free fashion ::yes:: clutter and unorganization is as awful as onion bagels with blueberry cream cheese

I never have a car on trips but fee the same way when I have to 575,809 miles to the last bus stop:rolleyes2
Great official first day!! Starring rolls make a great 1,2,3,4,5,54735490
breakfast. Most.Delicious.Cupcakes!!
I am glad to hear no big issues on the trip with getting your APs over to MB. We are going back in May and I'll take a cue from you and keep our cards handy too just incase.

Ok I was behind a bit, but now I'm caught up.
Sounds like you guys had a great start to your trip! I love that you coloured. I've always been more a drawer than a colourer, preferring to draw on the covers of the colouring books and then colour in those. Lol! But I admit that if you put crayons (or markers, pencils, pens, quills, charcoal...) in front of me, I will still doodle! Wow, great gas mileage! I'd hate to think what it would cost me to drive to Disney World. It would take three days and we do not have a very fuel efficient little truck. I could probably book a private jet cheaper. I have to see SSR some time! It looks so pretty, and all the horses everywhere! It's like a resort made for me! Glad you got a room in a good location, I'm totally with you on the refill mugs. Wow, that's a lot of shoes for three people! Hahaha I bring one pair, the pair I wear down. DH does the same! But that's a great way to keep it all organized for sure!
Ahhhh first park day after a long time travelling, nothing better! Glad you only had one problem with your magic band! And that you got it all sorted out quickly. Starring rolls is absolutely an attraction. Those desserts are making me drool... I fear a weeny bite would just not cut it.
Yeah, TOT is the one ride I'll never try again! Nope nope nope. Claustrophobia and elevators don't mix at the best of times! Lmao

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Off to a pretty good start! How strange about the MB not letting you in! Seems to be lots of people reporting things like that. :confused3

I'm a little worried that I won't know what to do with myself not having to run for FP. (or sending Bryan). In a way I'm really looking forward to it, but I hate that only 3 are available.

That cupcake looks great! I think I might have to try the blueberry one though!

For real. I guess I should cancel my speed walking training sessions. :lmao:

I adore your makeup looks! I don't wear anything other than eyeliner because I don't have the patience or skill, but you pull off EVERY look! It's so gorgeous!

Haha, I love the inclusion of the GIF from Clue! HAHAHA, and Dawson?

I'm glad you didn't have issues with your Magic Band. I had maybe two issues? One of them was when we were trying to get into Epcot. I kept trying over and over again, and the guy was telling me to put my finger down at the same time, but it wouldn't pick up either of them. I did it so many times, and there were a handful of CMs with the tablets standing there. FINALLY the CM told me to go to a guy with a tablet, and it took him literally 10 seconds and he was done. I admit I was kind of irritated that the original CM made me feel stupid for not doing it the right way ("Move your finger around!") and started having conversations with other people as I kept trying when he could have sent me over to the CM just standing there after 3 tries! Instead I stood there blocking the line.

You're right though in that having FP+ makes the mornings different in not having to run to get the paper ones. We still went to TSMM anyway to ride it standby. It was nice not having to choose between grabbing FP or jumping right in line. It allowed us to ride our favorites more than once or twice! I just really hope that there's a way to get more than 3 reservations in a day.

Your Pop is way too cute about the sugar and running just a block. I'm trying to remember if you explained it before and maybe I just forgot? How come he's "Popadon"? I sometimes refer to my parents as Momsicles and Popsicles on DIS because of Wicked. Anyway, reading this really makes me feel sad that we missed each other. It would've been fun to meet your parents too cuz they're such characters!

Haha, see how temperatures are all relative. 70 degrees in Disney seems cold, but to us northerners, it'a a heat wave. Bet the locals had the scarves out.

Haha, congrats on parking in my spot. :thumbsup2

Yup. FP+ really does change everything.

MMMMMM Red... Velvet...

Hmmm, clearly you bathroom stall held the promise of some sort of magic prize? Weird.

Oooh, I do love me a ride photo fail :hyper:

Ugh, parking lots at Disney. Why oh why must each lane be two blocks long?:confused3 Although, I can't really complain, because I had pretty good luck on my last trip. Apparently, every 5 trips the Disney Gods have pity on you and throw a bone your way. :rotfl:

Starring Rolls should definitely be considered an attraction. I'd get a Fastpass for it. :rotfl2: First in line for the Butterfinger cupcake, please!

I bet that "weenie bit" was worth it!

I can only imagine the guests in ToT with you's reaction at the random screaming. Already on edge, not knowing what to expect or when, and hearing a scream out of nowhere....I know I would have jumped.

That red velvet cupcake looks delicious but how on earth did you eat it? :rotfl2:
