That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

Your artwork is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us :goodvibes

Oh my gosh Dani! Your art is amazing!! I am a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan and you drew them perfectly. You definitely should keep drawing. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.

In college I had a marketing prof ask the class to raise their hands if they could draw. Only a few raised their hands. He then told us we should all raise our hands because everyone can draw but some draw a lot better than others. You draw pretty dang well!! :thumbsup2;):goodvibes That one small statement changed my perspective on how I started looking at so many things!

I was desperately behind and have spent this weekend trying to catch up on TRs since so many new ones are beginning! I'm glad your mom felt better to rejoin you guys! I am just so happy to get over 100,000 at TSMM...you rocked it!! (even if you were a little short of the best of the day!). I have an ADR for La Hacienda and what you ordered all the way to the margarita is what I'd earmarked for us. Good to hear those reviews because Keith DOES NOT like cheese (not sure what planet he came from :confused3 ) and although he likes queso fundido at the local Mexican joints, it sounds like that one may not be winner! And I thought your Tink favored Anna somewhat...maybe the eyes?

I love your artwork too!

I did college and university in fine arts. I know what you mean by it being hard. Just because you're an artist doesn't mean you can be a teacher. Some people don't get that ;)

Sorry that man was hard on you.

Thanks for posting the artwork! I hope you can get back into it and sorry you had a teacher that was so hard on you. But, if it weren't for that, you might not know the joys of month-ends, right? ;):rotfl:

Wow amazing. Your really good, your mom is right. Don't let anyone ever break you. That teacher needs a serious a$$ kicking. I love love love that last drawing it is fantastic. Plz pick up those pencils again and continue to show us your work. You are really really good Dani.

I had no doubt that you would agree about Danielle's talent. :thumbsup2

Love the art! I think you're quite talented. I hate when teachers can just crush dreams. :( I hope you keep drawing, and sharing it with us as well!

I'm sorry I missed the update. :(

Danielle, your artwork is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Omg. I had a painting prof in uni who was so like yours. Painted on people's paintings and had an agenda to put people down. Ironically I was the only one who ever stood up to him... Everyone else in the class thought I would be kicked out, but he adored me after that. Odd duck.

Ok now onto the important stuff!

I love, love, love your artwork! Your colour comic work is so strong. I would love to see more any time you feel like sharing, especially if you pick up the pencils again!

Aw, thank you so much. That teacher was a pain and being only 18 years old, it really took its toll on me when he did that.

I will definitely start picking them up again.

This is something else we have in common! (I'll send you a invite on FB to my art page in a bit.) You should absolutely pick it up again! Like you, I grew up enjoying art. My art teacher in high school wanted me to go into a career in art. I spent my summers at art programs too. But I didn't feel like I could have a career in art unless I became a teacher and I did not want to be a teacher so I went in a different direction.

Last November I decided to start pursuing a career in art (mainly canvas art) and now sell paintings in a little shop in my town. I really, really want to take some art classes to brush up on some skills and learn new stuff too. I hope to do that soon.

So, I definitely think you should bring your artistic skills back to life. It's a part of YOU and will feel so good to express that part of you again.

I'm going to definitely get back into it again. I have to make the time for it. I had the same struggles with wondering what I was going to do with it. I wanted to animate, but I think I didn't have the confidence in myself necessary for it.

That's really awesome! Painting is actually something I've never dabbled in before. I was planning on taking a class during my degree program, but that obviously didn't materialize.

OK, I'm going to start with your backstory first because your first art teacher kinda made me angry. No scratch that... absolutely made me angry. I despise when teachers try to break the spirit of students who have a genuine passion for something.

WOW, to think you drew those at such a young age!! That's magnificent Danielle.

Your work is beautiful Dani, really beautiful. Please don't ever stop. We have so much in common in that regard. I love hearing stories like this of people who do accounting/finance for a living. There's a stigma attached to that, and I think people would be surprised to learn that an accountant created that. I, however, would not. No, I can't draw a straight line with a ruler, but I do have a creative passion, be it music, or video, or yes, writing. Don't ever give up on something you love to do, ESPECIALLY, when you're so darn good at it!!! :goodvibes

I know! And at 18 years old, you're so vulnerable and still finding your way. If it happened to me now, I'd tell him to take a flying leap through a rolling donut. But I'm also a real adult. At 18, you think you're an adult, but let's be real, you're not even close to it at that point.

I was pretty young when I produced the majority of my stuff. I had the most time to work on it. :lmao:

Ugh, I can't stand that stigma! I love all things creative. I did dance as well and choreography, I also sing a little, and I love writing. I actually have written fiction in the past. But I'm a dabbler mostly. I love that word. LOL.

Those were great! I sure hope you try and keep up your skill! Art is ABSOLUTELY a gift. Math comes easily to some. Others are great with words. Some can hold a tune, and others like myself, not so much. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much. I agree with you completely, we all have different strengths in different areas. It was makes us all unique.

This is my favorite because it is so very special and unique.

Beautiful work. I am sorry you had a professor that was such a &*%$. I can understand, to a point, constructive criticism. I don't understand being downright rude and disrespectful. Sounds like he had some personal challenges himself. And to lose a project is totally unacceptable. Totally. I would be curious to see how that particular instructor gets rated on "Rate My Professor". Just remember - what goes around comes around. It's also possible that he was treated like that and feels the need to just pass it on.

Any way - I do believe some people just "have it", like you said. It's that little extra edge. That intangible that you can't quite put your finger on. The same goes for music. People can learn all the technicals parts of performing music, but have "musicality" is a gift.

Thanks so much! He had a reputation at school for being that way too. Everyone would warn you about him before you took his class. But he was literally one of the only art teachers in the school.

I agree, people have an extra edge in some areas. My grandfather was amazing, and I wanted to be like him so badly with my art. I had something to aspire to.

I loved seeing your artwork. My favorite is this drawing of Velocity. The hair looks great and I think the face turned out perfect. :)

I am an accountant, too, but I can't draw worth a darn. You are lucky to have so much artistic talent. :goodvibes

Thanks! She was one of my favorites, and that's actually one of my favorite drawings that I've ever done.

Yay accountants! People pinpoint us too, don't they? That just aggravates me. They think that because you work in black and white that you can't be a little left of center, or think outside the box. Drives me up the wall.

What Awesome artwork Dani.

So sorry the art teacher broke you a bit- that really stinks but you really need to get back in to it at least for pleasure and see where it goes.

Thanks so much! I do want to get back into it. I just need to buckle down and focus on it. Carve out the time.

Your artwork is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us :goodvibes

Thanks so much Dawn!

Oh my gosh Dani! Your art is amazing!! I am a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan and you drew them perfectly. You definitely should keep drawing. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.

Awww thanks! Okay, Calvin and Hobbes is amazing! They've always been my favorite comic strip of life!

I completely agree with the statement that everyone can draw. You can absolutely learn fundamentals and become pretty good. All it takes is practice. :thumbsup2

There are so many people I know that don't like cheese! And I look at them and ask them if they were dropped on their heads when they were kids. :lmao:

I love your artwork too!

I did college and university in fine arts. I know what you mean by it being hard. Just because you're an artist doesn't mean you can be a teacher. Some people don't get that ;)

Sorry that man was hard on you.

Exactly! He shouldn't have been teaching, he had absolutely no interpersonal skills. I just don't understand that.

Danielle you are talented !! Those pix are awesome !!!

Aww, thanks Rosie!

Oh yes, the joys of month end! Gotta love that. Listen, it keeps things consistent, right? You always know what to do. :lmao:

I had no doubt that you would agree about Danielle's talent. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

Love the art! I think you're quite talented. I hate when teachers can just crush dreams. :( I hope you keep drawing, and sharing it with us as well!

Thanks so much!

I hate that too. You're at this point where young adults are trying to find their way and you just treat them like that. It's disheartening.

I'm sorry I missed the update. :(

Danielle, your artwork is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

No worries Kathy!

Thanks so much!

Ugh! What's up with that! I stood up to mine too, and he did warm up to me a bit. But not much.

Thanks so much. Comic work was my favorite to do. If I got back into it, it would definitely be with that.

After my near miss on becoming the highest score of the hour on TSM, I decided that the only way to satisfy my worried and hurt soul was to eat.

DHS is the bane of my existence when it comes to QS food. I never know where to go and what to eat. We crossed that same bridge at this point. We just didn't know where to go.

So, we decided to go where many people hate going. The ABC Commissary.

Now, I've not had any terrible meals here. It's been pretty good for me as a whole. But I also don't walk into it thinking that I'm going to get a five star meal. Let's be realistic people.

Oh, but on the way out of the Toy Story area, Mr. Spell was working! It may not look like it in my picture, but there were words I tell you! Words!

The ABC Commissary wasn't too crowded, which was nice. Pop and I ordered. Oh who and I kidding here, I ordered. While Mom went to get a table. And I say I ordered and Pop didn't because asking my Pop to order food would go something like this:

Typical Dunkin' Donuts order:

Me: Okay Pop, I want a number 3, with a plain bagel and plain cream cheese. Large coffee extra cream extra sugar.

Pop: Got it.

Me: Okay, what am I getting?

Pop: A number three with a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese with a coffee with cream and sugar.

Me: :headache:

I'm definitely not exaggerating either. The man has short term memory loss that can rival Dory.

Ordering is my responsibility. I will totally be that person in the back of the car in the drive thru that orders. Been doing it forever.

Anyways!! We ordered while Mom got a table for us.

What did we order on this fine day?

I got the very high brow...kids cheeseburger.

Pop got the seafood platter.

Mom got the asian chicken salad.

Oddly enough.....I think we repeated this EXACT meal in May. Now that I think about it. And that will probably appear in my next update on my May TR, so you'll get a bit of deja vu there. My bad!

Mom and I also got the incredible and yummy seasonal cupcake, which was a lemon blueberry cupcake. It was totally tasty.

Very light and summery with the flavors.

And of course, I had to make a cupcake sandwich before cutting it in half. Yay for cupcake sandwiches!

Mom said that she was a bit tired at that point, since she still wasn't feeling the best. That was to be expected. So we decided to take her back to the hotel to relax for a little bit. I wanted to see Wishes that night, so I wanted her to be rested for that. We are super easy going on vacation, so I wasn't bummed out that we were leaving.

AND....because I apparently also suffered from a bit of short term memory loss, we stopped for more PP pictures, in basically the same spot we were in that morning.

As we were heading out of the park, we came across some Streetmosphere CM's, which I absolutely love. This guy was sitting on a bench texting, and they all came up behind him to see what he was doing. And for the longest time, he had no idea!

I want that job. Can I have that job? I think I'd make some great Streetmosphere!

We made it back to the room shortly after that and had Mom crawl into bed to relax for a little while. I did my normal midday break stuff, typing about the days activities for my TR.

A little while later, Mom said that she was feeling a little bit worse than she had been that morning, and she was worried about going into the park when it was pretty cold that night.

I was glad she mentioned it. Both Dad and I agreed with that assessment, and I was glad she was listening to her body.

Pop and I agreed to head out to the Magic Kingdom solo. We wanted to get there to have some dinner and then do a few things before lining up for Wishes.

I changed for the night. This sweatshirt is a bit heavier than the other one I was wearing. I also had a running coat in my bag in case I needed it.

We headed out to the bus stop and waited to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom. It wasn't too long that we had to wait before the bus came.

Upon arriving at the Magic Kingdom, we decided to take some PP pictures. Man PP photographer, you really whited me out in these! Bright!

Soon we were in the park and I was seeing my favorite sight ever.

I tried to be all artsy fartsy and get balloon pics. Don't know whether it worked out or not. LOL.

Even though there is a blasted crane in the picture, it's still lovely.

We decided to have dinner to start the night (yes, I understand it looks like I had just eaten in this update, but I promise it's been several hours). I suggested Columbia Harbour House. I like that the options are healthier here, without it being a salad. I do enjoy salads, but not on vacation. I eat them every day at home basically, and I don't want to do that on vacation. But salmon and couscous? Sign me up.

Of course, the joy of eating at CHH is sitting in the upstairs area. I love that area!

Both Pop and I got the same meal. The salmon with the broccoli and couscous. I highly recommend this to anyone.

We took our time eating and relaxing for a little while before heading back out into the park. Before we headed out though, I headed in to the bathroom to put on my lovely Kermit hat and gloves. Because I had to be prepared!

Total goober.

Side note...I've totally done a 5k wearing that hat. It was March, it was Chicago, and I wanted to look like Kermit. So sue me.

First things first was to head over to Tomorrowland. Buzz had virtually no wait according to the app, so we figured why not. We thoroughly enjoy Buzz.

Magic Kingdom at night is an absolute favorite of mine.

The wait was only 10 minutes. The strangest thing happened in line though. Well, at least I saw something I'd never seen before. Apparently, the Buzz animatronic wasn't working, so they pulled a curtain in front of him.

In all my Disney years, I've never seen that before. Go figure, right? I mean, it's bound to happen. Better to cover him with a curtain than to just leave him hanging there.

I mean, that's the equivalent of kids seeing this.

So you know the drill with me. Well, I came close. But I wasn't a galactic hero this time. I don't know what happened.

My PP picture says it all.

I had to hang my head in shame. The funny thing about that is the fact that the CM asked me if I really wanted the picture because my face was covered. I said "I know...I was hanging my head in shame because I wasn't a galactic hero."

Let's just say this CM just didn't "get" me. Oh well. Not everyone does.

We exited and at that point were curious what we were going to do next. I suggested taking a nap.

I'm kidding! I love CoP! Because there is a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day!

Goobs. We were so excited!

Funniest thing EVER happened in the final room of CoP. So we're sitting there enjoying the show, and the sound went out and we couldn't ear anything.

Which automatically leads me to say very loudly "OH MY GOD I'VE GONE DEAF!"

And Pop to say "well that's progress for you!"

Everyone started laughing hysterically after that.

Ba dum bum folks. We're here all week.

At that point, it was time for us to head to the hub to line up for Celebrate the Magic and Wishes.

It actually wasn't all that crazy and I found a great spot right in the center of the hub. That's obviously blocked off right now with the expansion, but at the time it was the perfect spot. The two of us slid right in.

Very shortly after we arrived, Celebrate the Magic started. I love this addition and think it's totally awesome. A great pre-curser to Wishes.

Continued from previous post:

I'm gonna wreck it!

Ack! This one is my favorite!

Now that I've totally bombarded you with Celebrate the Magic pictures.

I don't have pictures of Wishes. I wanted to FaceTime with Mom, so she could watch Wishes with us. So I called her and got connected. Held the phone up so she could watch with us.

Let's just say this didn't work out as planned. It worked for a little while, but then she disconnected. So she called me back, I picked up and she's going "HELLO!? HELLO!?" super loud, and everyone around could hear. I had to hang up on her, because she couldn't hear me, and we weren't connecting very well. Plus, I didn't want everyone to think I was obnoxious while she was shouting "HELLO!?" on the other end. Oh Momma.

Of course, Wishes was amazing as it always is. And I teared up, like I always do. They just make me feel so absolutely magical.

After that, we decided to head over to ride Pirates of the Caribbean, but as soon as we got there, they advised us it was closed at the moment! Awwwww. I felt bad, because this is Pop's favorite. But it's okay. We made it back in May, so we're all good.

So, I decided that I needed another Foo's Boo. Plus Mom wanted another souvie stein, so kill two birds with one stone.

Which then resulted in me being able to get some awesome Popadon pictures.

We started heading out of the park and we stopped at the Starbucks to get Pop his skinny vanilla latte. So I got a peanut butter cupcake at the same time to take back to the hotel and share with Mom.

Let me tell you....

We could have had a straight up cupcake disaster on our hands. I had to carry the cupcake in it's plastic container and my foo's boo. Now, let's face it, I'm a clumsy oaf. You may not realize it, but I totally am. We walk out of the park. We get all the way to the bus stop. And I DROP THE CUPCAKE!

Now, thankfully, it was in a closed container, so it was all good. But I'm not gonna lie, I take my cupcakes totally serious. Even if it had opened and gotten on the ground, I totally would have dusted it off and put it back to eat it later. Five second rule and all that.

See? My poor smooshed cupcake.

We got back to the room and Mom mentioned she wanted a treat. Even though I was going to share my cupcake with her, but she still wanted something. So I went down to the Artist Palette, and I got her what I shall now refer to as the chocolate death bar.

Because you will die of chocolate overload when you consume it. But at least you'll die happy.

After that, it was time to hit the sack, because our final Disney day was upon us.

Up next: Imma lame boat ride you in your face!

Great updates! Lol at the Dory-esque short term memory loss. My mum is like that too. Ooh that salmon looks good. And nice hat! I remember the IG picture of you doing that race in it. Celebrate the Magic is just the best. Apart from DLP's 'Dreams!'. Looking forward to the next instalment.
