I know this question is probably redundant, but I tried to ask this question on another site that I was looking at and no one wanted to answer me.

Has anyone been the week of Thanksgiving, if so, how managable are the crowds the first weekend through say Wednesday? I can imagine that it will be more crowded Thursday(Thanksgiving Day) through Sunday.

I have a couple of first timers going with me and I want to make sure they get the most out of this trip, especially since they are paying for it for all of us!!:teeth:

Thanks!!!!

I haven't been there before during Thanksgiving and, so, can't give you a direct report but I have done a lot of research for our upcoming trip (we are getting there the day after T-day).

The whole of Thanksgiving week is supposed to be pretty crowded. I guess the latest edition of the Unofficial Guide has a day by day rating of expcted crowds. Someone posted the Nov/Dec ratings but had to remove it due to copyright issues. If I remember correctly, Thanksgiving week was all 8's (1 being empty and 10 being wall-to-wall people). I was more interested in the time after Thanksgiving so I can't really remember if the crowds ramp up right away beginning with the Saturday before or if it was somewhat gradual.

Disney has also extended many of the park hours for that week meaning that they also expect pretty good crowds.

I hope this helps.

[edit:] I just found the original post with the day-by-day ratings. Although the specific ratings had to be removed, you can infer from some of the comments that it seems the week before Thanksgiving builds gradually from relatively light crowds to packed on T-Day and the rest of the week. Here is the original post.

I have never been either, but going for the full week this year...Since they have extended the hours for the full week, they expect larger crowds all week long. MK is open till midnight everyday from sunday onward, so lots of hours to enjoy MK. The other parks have extended hours also, but not that late.....:sunny:

Very manageable first part of the week. Gets a little crazier Thanksgiving day and on. Avoid MK at all costs on Thanksgiving day. We'll be @Epcot that day. The crowds are getting larger and larger each year but we still love to visit that week.
