My family is thinking about going to WDW during Thanksgiving week from Nov. 18th to Nov. 24th. I know it will be very busy but my fiance is a teacher and that's about the only time we can go. Anyway are there usually any room discounts for annual passholders for this time? Last time we went to WDW in December 2005 we got the Best Rate Plan, but we have never been to WDW for Thanksgiving.

Please let me know if there is any discounts offered at this time. Also any tips for Thanksgiving week?

Last year they offered the Best Rate Program for passholders. So far, AP rates have not followed the usual pattern. We have gotten AP rates for Thanksgiving for the last several years, so I would assume they will offer something... They are usually released sometime in August or September. Last year a package deal came out in October. The resorts seem to be filling up already for Thanksgiving. I would book something now if I were you. The Swan & Dolphin may still have a teacher discount available. Good Luck!

We did book Port Orleans French Quarter. Later if and AP rates come out we will try to apply it to our reservations.

We looked in to the Teacher discount for the Swan/dolphin but the first day of our stay the price was almost $350 a night. A little too pricey for us.

thanks,

Glad you have something booked! You may want to keep checking back with the Swan & Dolphin as they sometimes lower their rates, and the date that was not available with the discount may come open later.

HI,
My family and I went last year for Thanksgiving and we are going again this year. I would suggest to you that you choose a place to dine on Thanksgiving and get ADR's for it as last year there were many disappointed people who were unable to get into any restaurant because they were all full. Also I was told that Thanksgiving Day is the busiest at the Magic Kingdom. We spent the afternoon at Epcot and it was great, not too crowded. Good Luck!

We too are traveling to WDW for the holiday. It will be our 3rd turkey day there. We are even bringing another family with us. Our plan is to spend the day at AK and go back to POR refresh and have a 7pm dinner at Ohanas at the Poly. We hope to be able to hang around there and see the fireworks and maybe the evening water parade. Sounds much better that a cold NY thanksgiving
