Some friends and I are planning to start Christmas shopping by driving from Canada to Michigan and we're trying to figure out the best time for sales. We are thinking right after Thanksgiving?? Heading to Frankenmuth (sp??) and whatever nearby has some good Malls?? Any tips and suggestions much appreciated! :wave2:

Ahhh! Day after Thanksgiving sales are affectionately known as "Black Friday". This is probably the busiest day of the year for all shoppers and retailers. Wherever you go, get there early as it will be crowded!

I don't get to shop black friday this year.

Thanksgiving sales in the past are GREAT!!!!! This year I will be with DH at his families which does not have the stores I want. Oh well I get to be with his family which is more important. :)

ETA: for the tips check store websites to see what their earlybird specials are, and be very aware of the times. Be prepared to fight crowds. Have food and water in the car. Dress comfortably.

No Black Friday shopping for me either, but I cannot complain I'll be in Vegas!

Most stores release flyers 2-3 days in advance and you can get some really good deals, but beware you need to get there early with your boxing gloves!!! :rotfl:

I've been to many Black Fridays over the years. You can actually find deals even better throughout the year if you keep at it. Black Friday is chaotic to say the least and its not for everyone. If I brought DH to one second of a Black Friday sale he'd slit his wrists. But I like it...something about getting everything on the list at a killer deal is just a thrill for me.

OMG I love Vegas & Black Friday. I feel like George Costanza, I need to combine the two!

I can't imagine how great it would be to wake up at 5:00 AM to shop and then come back to the Bellagio for a nap, and go back out til 5:00 in the casinos! :cool1:

Another Black Friday shopper!! I absolutely love the "rush" of the whole day! I go each year with my Sister In Law and it is the most fun!! Can't wait to go again!! :)

I wait all year dreaming about Black Friday! I kick it off on Thursday night with my Black friday sleep over. We stay up late going over our game plan. We get up early & like to be at WaWa for our celebration coffee at 4:40 am. It so exciting to get in line with dozens of other women, dreaming of big sles & sipping our coffee! DH told me this morning that the TV is acting up. He is just going to have to wait & see what Walmart has on sale this year. We'll have to go TVless until then! :rotfl:

Oh, ick, I don't leave my house on Black Friday--we do our Christmas decorating that day. I can't STAND the crowds and people fighting over items. I did go on the Saturday afterward last year and it was wonderful. The stores were still having sales and I was practically the only one there. Of course, I didn't get any of those doorbuster deals but I really don't want to wait in line in the cold at 4 a.m. for a dvd player or whatever the hot item du jour is. :teeth:
