We were at OKW earlier in the week and now we are BCV. We were told by a wait person at Olivia's that they had 700 reservations for Thanksgiving Day. We ate breakfast there that morning. We were also told that based on reservations that this Thanksgiving Day was the busiest dining day in Disney history.

It sure looks like old times here at Disney World. Looks like the days when you had to book your room a year in advance if you wanted to stay on Disney Property, if you know what I mean. It is tough to deal with crowds, but it sure does feel good to see things getting back to normal.

When we moved over to BCV yesterday, we learned that Yacht, Beach and BCV are all at 100% capacity.

Today it is COLD, COLD, COLD. I brought mostly crop pants with me and had to venture to Downtown Disney to buy something lonnger to wear tonight. World of Disney is handing out samples of their hot chocolate and coffee (with the coffee and hot chocolate display set right there so you can buy some, of course) and at 11:00 this morning people at World of Disney were 6-8 deep at each registers, mostly buying sweatshirts and jackets. Husband walked over to SAB to see lifeguard son this morning, and THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THE POOL AND GOING DOWN THE SLIDE. They are talking about closing the pool as soon as the sun goes down today. My son the lifeguard is wearing a fleece, a windbreaker, long pants, toboggan and gloves. I think the child's blood has thinned out so much that he will just die when he comes back to North Carolina in January.

Our room at OKW (1 bedroom in bldg 13) was wonderful and our room at BCV (studio on fifth floor with what I call a swamp view) were both in good repair and very comfortable. I am quickly becoming a 1-bedroom snob, and I don't want that to happen. I look more frequent trips.

The Front Desk CM's at Beach Club did a wonderful job of quickly processing the massive check-ins and outs yesterday.

Went and bought some Cirque tickets for a Dec 23 6:00 show fir my father-in-law, and there were very few seats left. I was surprised at that.

By the way this new high-speed sure beats the dial-up. It is $9.95 for 24 hours. You actually have a counter on your desktop that tells you when your 24 hours is up. If you don't have the ethernet cable, they will give you one. Connection in the studio is behind the nightstand and you have to pull it out to get to it.

New since the last time I stayed at Beach Club, they now have a quick breakfast place set up in the lobby. It is actually in the bar area that is between bell services and front desk. Fresh fruit, bagels, toast, cereal, juice and complimentary coffee was served yesterday and today.

That's all for now. Will check in a bit later if anyone has questions.

Thanks for the update and enjoy the Cirque show. The 9.95 is not a bad price for high speed connection and the easiness of it..::yes::

$9.95 for a 24 hour period is comparable to what most hotels charge. That is about six times what you pay at home for high speed internet service so I suspect the profit margin is huge on this.

Brings back memories! DH & I walked through SAB on our way to Beaches n' Cream last year on our early December trip. Also very cold that day (for Florida, LOL). All the life guards were bundled up in several layers, including some in winter down jackets, gloves and some even had ski-masks on. Yet there were still people swimming! We're from Minnesota and used to very cold weather, but no way would we have chosen to swim that day! (Might have considered a sauna deal with a jump into a pool afterwards, though). :teeth: Anyway, even though we had our jackets with us (I was carrying mine), we did share a smile over the lifeguard's attire.

Yep! I think your child is in for a shock when he returns home in January! Might take longer than he has to "thicken up" his blood to NC standards again. Good luck to him!

:teeth: LOL! Now you have a good reason to remember to log out next time, right? :teeth:

Thanks for such a great "on site" report!! Lots of good information. I feel bad for the lifeguards. The nuts, I mean "guests", will swim in any temp but the lifeguards freeze sitting on their perches. I saw where the temps were going to drop (they dropped here too) and felt bad for folks. That kind of weather doesn't usually hit WDW until closer to Christmas.

I honestly love those "swamp" views at BCV (technically I think that's called woods/wetlands view). I'm going to be in a studio there next week-remember your room # so I can look for it?

We are in room #527. The only other thing I don't like about the 5th floor is the lights on the balcony that don't go out. Other than that, room is second door on left when exiting the main elevator, and that is handy.

LOL :hyper: I thought this was hysterical!!

When I saw the user name, I figured it was a male posting. Then I saw the part about the crop pants and I thought hmmm, maybe it is a woman? Too funny. Thanks for the laugh :teeth:

Thanks for the info. To that I might ad earlier this month we shot down to BWV for about 5 days. We got talking to the coffee bar guy at the Contempary and he said that resort is booked solid (save for a few days here and there) until well after christmas. He showed it to me on the computor sheet. Granted they were only reservations but at least people were planning on coming to WDW.
