Thanksgiving reservations

We were at Disney for Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. We took this as our off day from the parks, but we made reservations at the California Grill for dinner. We had a wonderful time and the kids were catered (sp) to. They loved it as did we. Also we watched wishes from the restaurant balcony after dinner. I made our reservations for our 10 day trip 180 + 10 (we were leaving the Saturday after Thanksgiving).

Long story short... I would keep calling back. I made our reservations for the castle and got a late lunch time. I called back closer to our trip and could have a pick between 4 better times for lunch. I think they do hold back times. You will have a great trip and don't give up hope ...you may still get the exact reservation you want!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We just booked for Chef Mickey instead:goodvibes

Hey, that's where we'll be! (We let DS10 pick & he insisted on Chef Mickey's!)
What time is your ADR? Ours is 7:05pm. We'll be a group of 6 in matching WDW t-shirts.

I was able to get LLT for a party of 13 for Thanksgiving dinner but they are checking in on Nov. 19th so that provided a little bit of an advantage. Even still there were only 2 time slots left. I called on May 23 (180th day).

Our ressie is at 6:55pm! We will probably see you there! We are a party of 11 and my 2 girls have snow white hair (they both have albinism), so we are easy to spot! :) Have a great time!

Ok got it!!
Great! I'll be sure to look for you!

We will be there Thanksgiving week also. I decided to do LTT the day before for dinner instead of Thanksgiving day. Was only able to get a 5:30 ressie. We are doing Le Cellier, lunch and Beirgarten, dinner. The CM said Beirgarten would be having Thanksgiving dinner in addition to the regular buffet.

I just called and tried to get a res for LTT on Turkey day and of course could not. The CM said she showed the restaurant closing at 4:45 that day. I then had her check Friday and she said the restaurant was closing at 5:45 that day. Very odd.

wow! cant believe that. I worried a tad but not so much since we are MGM that day. I figured there were other hot spots for people to eat on turkey day! I was able to get a dinner adr this afternoon for the brown derby and make my adr for epcot on the 29th.

Probably due to the fact that hours for the parks haven't been released yet. They can't accurately gauge what time the restaurants will be closing without park hours, so they limit dining hours until park hours are firmed up. Once hours for the parks are released, more dining times will become available.

Just about every table service will be having some type of turkey dinner - some places instead of the regular menu, and some in addition to the regular menu. That said, I'll save the turkey for at home, and won't be bothering with the insanity, overcrowding, and overpricing to eat at WDW on Thanksgiving Day. We'll be staying at AKL concierge, so we'll start Thanksgiving morning with the Sunrise Safari, and then will spend a limited amount of time in AK (until it gets too crowded). That night we've got the concierge lounge goodies to enjoy. Our "real meals" will begin after the holiday - Hoop Dee Doo and LeCellier are booked during the busy weekend, and we can wing it after the crowds go home.

Sad to say- but all of the times are open now and all taken. We had friends that tried today and that is what they told them. They said the whole day of Nov. 27 for LTT was booked from every hour from lunch ( all of lunch times) and everything for dinner even the last times which is about 10:00pm I think. But still keep checking because people always end up canceling.

Which resort are you staying at? Did you ever consider in room dining on your balcony? What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving with your family then together without the crowds? My sister is doing that at AKL and I think it's really a great idea. I'm considering it for both my trips this year.

We like LTT and wanted to dine there for Thanksgiving since they already serve that type of food and we want to be in the MK for the evening.

Today was our 180 window for our arrival Nov 24. I tried to make reservations at LTT and they told me it was all booked. I called at 7am and got through rigtht away.

I understand that others that are arriving Nov 22 or 23 got to call yesterday and the day before but I don't think it is fair that others that can't call until today or tomorrow to be shut out.

Does anyone else feel that Thanksgiving day should only be available to book exactly 180 days from that day to give everyone a fair chance? I mean even places like Yak & Yeti will allow you to book exactly 180 days from the day you want and not 180 + 10

Anyone have any ideas of how I can get a reservation at LTT now for Thanksgiving?

I would keep trying as people cancel all the time....you never know when a spot might open up :confused3. Good luck and have a great trip :yay:.
