Thanksgiving recommendations?

What is the best restaurant for Thanksgiving for a multi-generational group of about 8 people?

We have also considered ordering a full meal set up from a local restaurant to eat in the DVC rental. Is that something common around there or any experience doing that?

You can't get anything more Thanksgiving than Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom. They literally sell Thanksgiving type of food all year around (buffet style)

We love Boma at AKL. They have a mix of Thanksgiving food and their usual buffet.

What type of unit do you have? I like that idea in theory, but I wouldn't attempt it with 8 people if you're all sharing a 2BR villa. The dining area isn't anywhere near big enough for all of you to sit comfortably except maybe at Old Key West, but even then it would be tight.

We will have two 2br villas at Boulder Ridge. On actual thanksgiving day it will be 5 adults and 2 kids.

OP - I actually like the idea of having a meal setup inside your room. It's Thanksgiving and you will have a lot more fun there vs eating at a VERY CROWDED restuarant inside a VERY CROWDED park, at least I know our family would You have a table, a coffee table and a counter to sit at, it will be quaint, but isn't that what turkey day is all about, family.

I do too! I think you are right. It will make for a more laid back and enjoyable experience. Now I just need to see what restaurants around there will do a full meal for pick up. We are arriving the day before, so could even just do a pick up then and reheat in the room.

Ask your question on the DVC Resorts or the DVC Mouscellaneous forums. I know people there have done this and can give you some good advice! I can also recommend Liberty Tree Tavern, as suggested above.

Thanks for giving me that idea, we may try it on our next Thanksgiving trip. I feel like our family is in the minority on DIS, we do not have any issues with the size of a room, we had just as much fun in a value room as we had in a deluxe room. It really is how you deal with it, plus our family actually enjoys being around each other. LOL Have a magical trip

We enjoyed Whispering Canyon for Thanksgiving dinner a few years ago when we stayed at Copper Creek. It made for a very relaxed evening at the resort.
