We are booked on the 4 day Thanksgiving sailing of the Wonder. :flower: Because of the holiday, the Wonder sails on Wednesday and gets back on Sunday. I am not certain about which days the ship is in different locations -

Does anyone know the schedule?

And does Disney do anything special for Thanksgiving?

Thanks.

They offer a nice holiday dinner in addition to the usual menu.

I'll be on that cruise, and on the one after it! I tried to start a thread on the Cruise Meets board, but didn't get any takers.

I'm going to guess that they will follow the regular port schedule, so Wednesday would be departure, Thursday would be Nassau (won't it be strange to be out of the country on one of our national holidays?), Friday would be Castaway Cay, and Saturday would be a day at sea.

I can't wait for this trip. We've wanted to do a longer-than-four-night cruise for a while, but being away for two weekends can be a problem for us because we run a family business. This gives us eight nights of cruising! We're not real beach people (and that's funny since I can walk to the beach from home in less than five minutes!), and really don't care about the ports. We enjoy the relaxation of shipboard life, and plan to enjoy every minute!

Barb--you're the "local expert" on this stuff...is the Thanksgiving menu offered in all the restaurants? DH will be crushed if he doesn't have turkey for Thanksgiving. Personally, I'm not a big turkey fan, but will probably try the Wonder version of Thanksgiving dinner!

Yes it is. :)
I love having my "traditional" meal!

Barb--

Will you be joining us on that cruise? It seems like you've cruised quite a few Thanksgivings now!

Thanks for the info! Actually, no matter what the ports, Thanksgiving will be great on the Wonder.

Now - as to the traditional meal - Brother in Providence says lobster is traditional Thanksgiving fare, and nephew in Michigan says as long as they serve ham it will be fine. So - it is a good thing the 20 of us are on the Wonder so we can each order our own thing! (except maybe for the lobster).

See you there. :earsgirl:

We are also booked. Because of the three / four day swap, both Magic and Wonder would have been at Castaway Cay on the same day if the normal four day itinerary was followed. So they changed it to the following:

Day 1 Depart Port Canaveral (Wednesday)
Day 2 Castaway Cay (Thursday)
Day 3 Nassau (Friday)
Day 4 Day at Sea (Saturday)
Day 5 Return to Port Canaveral (Sunday)

Woo hoo - Thanksgiving on Castaway Cay.

Aaahh...a Thanksgiving dinner after a day in paradise. And even better...no inlaws within more than a thousand miles! :rotfl: And, I don't have to cook or clean up ANYTHING!!!! And I don't have to watch my brother-in-law snore through the football games! (DH isn't a football fan.) This just keeps getting better! I don't even have to get off the ship on Sunday! Yippee!! We'll do it all again (well, except the Thanksgiving dinner part!)
