Has anyone eaten in a park for Thanksgiving? We want to go, but we want the traditional meal. Any suggestions? Does Cindy's serve that? Thanks.

Almost all of the full-service restaurants serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving. When you make your PS, they should be able to tell you what's on this year's menu. At most places, it's a fixed-price meal with a few courses.

We ate at the Brown Derby in MGM last year and really liked it. MGM isn't nearly as crowded on Thanksgiving as the MK, and the meal was good. The turkey itself was processed and not spectacular, but that's probably what they serve everywhere since otherwise they'd have to ask if you wanted light or dark. It also came with a choice of salad or soup and desert.

Has anyone ever done Artist Point for Thanksgiving?? We have PS there and were just wondering how it was.

We have the garden grill booked for thanksgiving night. I heard Liberty Tree Tavern is really good for thanksgiving, but I dont dare step foot in M K that day!!

Is MK really that bad on Thanksgiving? This will be our first trip this time of year. I was hoping for a traditional Thanksgiving buffet or family style AYCE. Any suggestions? If MK or Disney in general is so busy, maybe something off-site? Maybe Angel's?

I only know what Ive read, and it seems like at least MK is a zoo on Thanksgiving and the next day ( Friday). Ive also read that the other parks arent that bad. Just Magic Kingdom. This will be our first trip to Disney at Thanksgiving also. We get in on Thanksgiving afternoon. If you dont have your Thanksgiving dinner priority seating yet, I suggest you call and make one. Its going to be hard to get a good time. We wanted one late and got the Garden Grill in Epcot for 8pm. That was really the only place in Epcot that was doing Thanksgiving dinner according to the Cast Member.

We will be there for 6 nights and we are staying away from MK Thursday, Friday and early Saturday. We will head over on Saturday night to see spectomagic. Our first day at MK will be Sunday when hopefully everyone is heading back home for school and work. We also bought MVMCP tickets for Sunday, Dec 1.

AimeeM-- we have almost the exact same plans. We were at WDW for Thanksgiving 2000 it truly wasn't THAT bad Comparing it to when we went Spring Break one year. We are doing the CP on FRI and MVMCP on Dec 1st. I booked Artist Point for a late dinner for Thanksgiving 8:00 pm. Last time we did Narcoosees at GF it was excellent. Just to emphasize when we were there in 2000 people were being turned away at the crystal palace for breakfast on Thanksgiving day and the cm told them that there is no where for them to leave disney property because if they didn't have PS there was no way they were going to eat at all that day! She said EVERY restaurant was completely booked. I could'nt believe she actually told them to go off property.

Well, I'm one of the crazy ones that is planning on being in the MK on Thanksgiving Day, and I'm hoping to have a PS for our dinner, but what about counter service places? What if we want a snack or a lite lunch early in the day? Will we be able to eat in the park for that?

Add me to the crazy list.;) I plan to get an early PS at Cindy's or Tony's for breakfast. I figure this will give us a chance to get deep into the park before the gates open at 9:00. We'll try to stay in the MK until @ 4 then head to GF for dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

I know everyone says to avoid the MK on T-day, but I just have to be there. If the crowds get really bad we'll head over to AK or Epcot.

Are there characters at the 1900 Park Fare dinner? I am hoping for a PS at LTT for dinner; dinner at Cindy's is my back-up-plan (I know there are no princesses at dinner, but at least we'd be in the park). But now I'm thinking I need a Plan C, just in case neither one of those pan out (I've tried for Cindy's breakfast and know how that can go....). I don't know much about non-park restaurants, so I would love any tips, also! :D

We're going to the Princess Breakfast in Epcot at 9:00 a.m. and then we have a 5:30 p.m. PS at California Grill for dinner.... I haven't decided if I want to go to MK Thanksgiving Day yet or not... depends on if they have an early parade and/or fireworks.

I keep changing my tour plans, we're arriving Wednesday morning and leaving Sunday night... I'm running out of erasers with all the changes to my plans...

oh well, I have a little bit of time to decide!!!

I'm not sure if the characters will be there for Thanksgiving. I picked 1900 Park Fare because I want to see the GF all decked out for Christmas. I can't wait to see he gingerbread house.:bounce:

roelongo, we will be at the MVMCP the same day as you. Did you do this last year? I heard these can get pretty crowded, especially later in the month. Im hoping this one isnt!!! Im going to try for the CP on either Nov 30 ( saturday) or Tuesday the 3rd. If its too crowded on Saturday, I'll wait until Tues.

As for the Thanksgiving crowds, I heard at can be crowded, esp. at MK, but compared to Easter weekend and Christmas, its nowhere near as bad. We have been there the past 4 Januarys and this past Jan. was DEAD. I was so spoiled!!

Add me to that list as well. I will be at WDW for 15 nights. We have PS for Chief Mickey's at 4:30pm. They have there regular buffet and plus they add all the Thanksgiving Day foods on that day as well. Since we are staying at the Polynesian, if we get tired we will just head back and take a little rest after dinner and go back to MK for the evening. We are alos doing MVMCP on Dec. 6th. our last night before heading home. I have also heard that Liberty Square had one of the best Thanksgiving feast in the Park. But to stay close to the parks, I would try some of the reastaurants at the Cont. Poly. and GF. Cal now for your reservations. they book up very fast for that day.

disneyjunkie- We will be staying at the sports from Nov 29- Dec 4! We'll probably be on a few buses together!! ºoº

.. Disneyjunkie- I'll have to tie ribbons on the stroller and maybe on the kids fannypack/backpack. I dont usually carry any thing now that we have the stroller. :bounce:
