We just got back from our trip on Saturday and had a great time!! We had 4 day hoppers and went Tues- Fri. Our kids did one day Universal in between. We've been before during Spring break, but this was the first time seeing the holiday decorations! Very beautiful! We stayed at Desert Inn for the first time and thought it was a nice clean motel, breakfast was simple with a couple cold cereals, oatmeal, a couple different fruits, danishes, coffee and milk. Right next to Park vue, where we've stayed before, so an easy walk to disneyland. It was pretty busy, but we always go early and did fastpasses, didn't try the new maxpass, but we did just fine. The last morning on Friday was great and less busy until afternoon- evening. We splurged this time and did the Woc dessert party and the Fantasmic- BB package! They were both great! That was our kids first time going to Blue Bayou and then we had the second Fantasmic show. We liked the Woc dessert party the best, loved having a table and chairs to sit in and really enjoyed the desserts, hot choc, water and DH had some blue drink. I'll write more later!

thank you for reporting.......did you find that Christmas decor would be a bigger draw for your next visit over any other time?

did you find yourself at anytime torn between maxpass and regular fastpass? and did you find that regular fastpass was easier because of the maxpass?

were you taken back by the warm weather?

did you find yourself at anytime torn between maxpass and regular fastpass? and did you find that regular fastpass was easier because of the maxpass? I thought about it when it was really busy in the evening, but otherwise didn't mind getting the regular fastpass. I like most of the rides in Disneyland, but not all the rides in CA, but I still enjoy that park too! I really enjoyed a lot of the entertainment in both parks.

Yes it was a bit of a surprise! My BIL and SIL live nearby disney and said the weather has been warmer then usual, but goes up and down. I would have liked it a bit cooler, but we kept refilling our water bottles and tried to stay cool.

I enjoyed your trip report. :) We didn’t use max pass on our trip last summer, and like your experience we found it worked out just fine, too. $50 extra a day for us was just too pricey. Glad you enjoyed your BB dinner and WOC dessert party!

So we went the week of Thanksgiving and yes it was busy, but being there 4 days seemed like it worked out pretty good. I felt like I was able to do everything I wanted to do and my family and I really enjoyed being there to see the Christmas decorations. I like being able to hop back and forth between both parks, but our first day we just did DL. We ate Thanksgiving dinner at Carnation Cafe and it was nice having a choice of what you want, my DH was the only one who had a Turkey dinner. Then later we had the Woc dessert party. I asked about filtered water in another post and we were able to get water at counter service and first aid center. The water was just fine for us to drink and I'm so glad, because it was in the 80s and 90s when we were there! Anyway we had a lot of fun and I would do it again! Thanks to all the help on the Dis boards!!:thanks:pixiedust::santa:

Yes, I was a little concerned the Max pass wouldn't work well with our phones. The wifi was not very good and our data didn't do too well. Thanks!

We we’re there last week too (Monday - Friday with universal on Wednesday). We were disappointed with the weather. We are from Texas and was hoping for cooler weather and we were stuck with no change except being cooler at night. We however did use Maxpass 3 of the 4 days and liked it. Mostly because we liked being back at the hotel by 8 almost every night and having time for swim breaks during the day. Having the photopass added on as well was nice. We would have been just fine without Maxpass though. Hopefully your kids enjoyed Universal as well as Disney.

We arrived on Thanksgiving and leave tomorrow night.

Loving the decor throughout the park, feels much more extensive than what Disney Word does for the season. Most attractions have some decorations.

Also.... a note on Maxpass... this is our first time using it and I am sold! I love not having to run back and forth around the park to grab paper fast passes. I wish Disney World had the same set up. I have unlimited data on my plan, so I had no issues accessing the app during the day but I can see it would be slightly more inconvenient for those using the park WiFi only. (Not great).

We had a few spots (around Matterhorn) where we could not get our data to work at all. We couldn’t even get the WiFi at the park to work. But we learned those spots and just used our paper tickets for Matterhorn and signed up for our fastpasses in the working areas.

Yes the weather was hot, especially on Wednesday and that was the day our kids went to Universal! They really loved it and also enjoyed Disney! That was their first time going to Universal. I'm glad the max pass worked well for you!

Glad it worked out for you, we might have to try it next time, might be a few years or so though!

I'm glad it got a little cooler for you today! I would have liked it to be cooler, but at least it wasn't as cold as it is where I live! 30s and 40s!
