Thanksgiving Dining Suggestions?

Hello! We are booked for the week of Thanksgiving, from the 20th to the 25th. I am SO far behind on my planning and know I better get some PS's done very quickly. Any suggestions on dining for Thanksgiving day and the week in general? It's Myself, DH, DS8 and DD6. We have been several times, but never during Thanksgiving or Christmas season in general.

OP ~ last Thanksgiving we dined at Mimi's *by HoJo's* it was nice, we're planning on having our Turkey day lunner there this year as well.

I called disney dining and reserved an EARLY Thanksgiving for us at Goofy's Kitchen the other day. There were only a few options left, but our party is a total of NINE, so we are hard to accommodate.

Several other options sounded WONDERFUL! If you want to eat inside the park or at one of the resorts, give them a call!

There's also Storytellers in GCH and the PCH Grill in PPH, as far as casual hotel dining goes. Napa Rose is great, but it is a dining experience, don't know if that is what you are looking for.

It's been reported on the boards that Storyteller's is already fully booked for Thanksgiving Day. If they aren't though and you could get a reservation, I would recommend them. It's a pleasant atmosphere with a nice buffet with good seasonal selections. You could also choose to order off the menu, but we always go buffet.

We haven't tried any of the other places for Thanksgiving, but if I was to choose something other than Storyteller's at GCH, then I would probably choose the Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney or, if we weren't feeling splurgy, then Mimi's near Hojos.

I booked at Paradise Pier. The cast member who was helping me mentioned that a lot of people forget that they also serve a buffet dinner and it usually is less crowded. When I called (about two weeks ago), Story Tellers and Goofy's Kitchen were booked up already

Just called Disney Dining today and while on hold they were pushing the Thanksgiving Buffet I believe in the DL Hotel ballroom with Chip and Dale and his "friends". I would do that for something different over one of the restaurants for Thanksgiving dinner in a heartbeat if I were there.

I've heard of this one too. I just can't stomach the $72 per adult (ages 10 and up) price.

For many years we have gone to the DL ballroom in the mid afternoon. It is fabulous. We have 4 people in our family and everyone wants something different for dinner. A vegan, Turkey eater and 2 for prime rib. It takes care of each of us. There is a live orchestra, all the characters around the room a lovely setting and Santa is there to take pictures with families after dinner at 5pm. It is the only day that the real Santa comes from the North Pole to visit Disneyland. So many families dress up or where fun Disney hats to take they Christmas card pics with him. Many families give disney names at the check in so they call "Mary Poppins, party of 12" This year we made a large reservation and have all the stray families from school going - anyone without a family here in OC. I hope that helps, have fun. Goofy's kitchen is fun, but they don't do a special meal. Although they do have turkey. Reservations for dinner went onsale the last week of Sept. so I don't know what is still available. DL Grand Ballroom is only from 12-6.
