I really meant to take pictures of most of the food that we ate, but, sadly, I forgot on several occasions. I can, however, share with you what my husband and I (40 somethings) and our 7 year old daughter thought about our meals.
Day one: arrival day. We made it to our resort around 3:30. No ADR that day, so we went to Downtown Disney. We planned on paying for this meal OOP, so we let our daughter choose. Not surprisingly, she chose the McDonalds. Oh well
Day two: We ate breakfast in our room and left early for MK. We had an ADR for lunch at Crystal Palace. We were very impressed with how quickly we were seated. While the food was plentiful, none of us really thought it was memorable. There was a really good potato dish, but, honestly, we wouldn't return for the food. The character interaction, however, was amazing. My daughter loved the parade through the restaurant too. She would be very happy to return to Crystal Palace again
.
We ate dinner at Columbia Harbour House. We had eaten there previously a couple of years ago and enjoyed the food. While it was noisy and not at all relaxing, the food is still very good. My husband had the Lighthouse sandwich, and I had the chicken. Our daughter had chicken strips, grapes and carrots. The only complaint was the dessert. Neither the marble cheesecake or the chocolate cake were very good.
Day Three We went to DHS on this day. Breakfast was, again, in our room. We ate lunch at the Backlot Express. Our double cheeseburgers were good, but on the greasy side. With the fries and dessert, marble cheesecake or strawberry shortcake, it was definitely too much food. DD, who is somewhat picky, didn't eat much of her kids meal. Oh, my husband loved the Strawberry Shortcake here.
We had an ADR for 50's Prime Time Cafe that evening. This turned out to be a fun restaurant with good food. While our waitress wasn't overly into the role playing, she did a good job of admonishing my husband because, as she put it, he just looked like he was about to get in trouble
One little girl at a table next to us was celebrating her birthday, and they brought a card around for her "cousins" to sign. It made us feel a part of the celebration as well. As for the food, well, my butcher steak was quite good. The green beans were so good I had no trouble eating my veggies!. My husband had the steak as well, and it was perfectly cooked for him. Even our daughter ate more of her mac and cheese meal than she usually does. The desserts were awesome. I had the s'mores and they were so good! My husband had the Brownie Sundae, and DD had a fix your own ice cream sundae. We all agreed that we would love to return here in the future
