Thanksgiving booking BLT

We are planning a BLT trip to WDW for the Friday after Thanksgiving 2011. I am curious how easy or difficult it was to get a 1 BR at BLT for 2010 at the 11 month mark?

I guess regardless you will just need to call at 11 months. If I didn't get that particular accomodation I would do a studio at least on WL to have something. DO you own there? I will send you pre 11 month pixie dust.

well would expect both standard and MK views to go fast.\

lake views should not be a problem.

is you want a standard or MK view - be sure to call exactly at 9:00am eastern standard time at your 11 months time.

Thanks to the OP for this thread. We are going in June of 2011 (already have reservation) but I am also planning on going for 3 days starting the day after Thanksgiving (Friday-Sunday) in 2011 as well just to see the decorations as we haven't done that in awhile. I want a standard studio, and imagine I will have to call first thing at our 11 month window. I am curious to see what everyone has to say.

I booked vacation 11 months out and got exactly what I wanted.

I booked for the Sun-Tues before Thanksgiving this year at 11 month at 9am and got the last standard view studio for those dates.

Keep in mind that you're planning on checking in the Friday after Thanksgiving but many others will have started their trip earlier in the week and will still be there. That said, I think as long as you're flexible on the view, you should probably be OK with a 1br at 11 months out.

I booked at the 11 month window and got what I wanted but I admit I walked the reservation. My end reservation was Tuesday-Tuesday but I started walking Sun-Sun and with 3 phone calls got what I needed. One of the cast members I talked with on the second call said that the reservations were very tight so you might want to consider walking the reservation to get what you need.

When you book a reservation to start earlier than you really want. Then, you call before the check out day and add more days to the end and eliminate ones from the beginning until you get the night that you want.

For example, if you want to really check in on that Friday, the 25th, you might call and make your reservation starting on the Sunday before, the 20th.

You would call on October 20th and book November 20th - November 27th. Then, on October 26th, call and cancel the beginning nights you don't need and add the nights to the end of the trip that you do.

Since you are booking right at the 11 month window, no one else can book your room until you check out. As long as you call and extend your trip before the 11 month window opens for your check out day, you will automatically get the new days.

BLT has 3 views, however, and I really don't think you will have a problem booking one of those at 11 months out.

If you booked Sun-Sun, but really wanted Tues-Tues following, you would call MS a couple of times and cancel the first Sun, book the Monday and then add days to the end. So on Tuesday you would have what you wanted without risking or losing the original reservatio if you could not get the days you needed. It is just cancelling days one at a time then adding them on at the back.
