My DD4 has a lengthy health history including Celiac disease (cannot eat any gluten - wheat, rye, barley, or oat) and g-tube dependence. The bottom line is, DD has a very limited diet but more importantly, she can ONLY eat pureed foods of a baby food consistency and yogurt texture.
We just returned from our Dis trip last week Friday. For the most part, feeding DD there was very difficult and we generally brought along baby foods (which she dislikes because they are so bland), yogurt and pudding for her to eat. However, during our TS meals, we wanted to include her as much as possible and would ask the chef to prepare a couple of pureed foods for DD. It was a fiasco the first 2 times we attempted it at Planet Hollywood and Akershus. Both times the "puree" ended up being chunky which causes DD to gag and then she will refuse to eat.
DD's favorite characters are Little Einsteins and she was so excited to go the the Little Einstein's breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. While there, Chef Julie came to our table and spoke with me at length about her dietary needs. She offered to make her anything, including gluten free chicken nuggets. We made a couple selections and when the food arrived, it was PERFECT! DD enjoyed eating the food, especially the chx nuggets which were thoroughly pureed and delicioius.
So THANKS a MILLION to Chef Julie at Hollywood and Vine. You have no idea how wonderful it is to watch my DD eat and enjoy her food while we were on vacation. That day, DHS was truly the Happiest Place on Earth for our family!
Thank YOU!
