So I bit the bullet and tried to make a Mickey from the cricut cartridge I got last year!

thnak you!

Now, see those picks on Minnie, is it my blade depth or speed that makes those? Or is it the paper I used?

Good job!

For the Minnie it could be all of the above. Sometimes with the thinner paper your mat has to be super sticky, speed med to high and pressure medium to low. And sometimes that just doesn't work at all. :rolleyes1 Just lots of playing around with settings. :)

playing around with the settings

I'm nervous just to turn the thing on and off! :rotfl2:

They are cute! Have fun with the cricut! Don't be afraid to try out the feeatures.

they both look great....I've had my cricut for 6 + years and still have cutting issues....its all trial and error!

Cassey

thank you, and it will take me a while to learn the features

They look great - now where is the rest of the gang??

um, that could take a while

thanks, I'll have to mess around with it I guess

something I found that makes them alittle better - get a black ink pen (scrapping safe) & draw in the lines on the glove & his dimples - on Minnie draw the bow center - sometimes "inking" those messed up spots will make it look right

Reddy's tips will work...
one of our other members said with the thinner papers she usually tapes another piece of cardstock over top of the pattern piece that is directly on the mat....and cuts them..thus giving the pattern paper a cleaner cut...

So, your pattern paper goes on the mat like you would normally cut it... add the other piece of paper on top of the pattern paper..tape it down on the edges with masking tape than cut like normal (especially is you would prefer not to adjust the depth of your blade). Make sense??? I usually use the white papers that come in between page protectors in an album.

what a great idea! never thought to do that

Those came out GREAT! Yeah sometimes with the thinner paper you have to really reduce your pressure and speed. Then it changes with the paper you use. I haven't gotten the Disney carts yet I don't know why! I'll have to pick them up the next time they go on sale.
