I was just reading some of the threads I have posted on lately and noticed alot of my posts have had a smart***, snippy tone to them.. I wanted to apologize to anyone who I may have offended or appeared that way to.. I really did not mean to be.

There is no excuse for that behavior but my explanation is that I threw away my cigarettes (after 30 years) and gave up a large portion of my soda addiction (Ive had 2 this past week vs 2 or three a day) four weeks ago today... :cool1:

This has been the single handed hardest thing I have ever done, The first three weeks an a half weeks I used the patch and while not ideal it was okay but when I ran out of those the other morning getting ready for work I just said screw it so I am on day 4 of no Nicotine in my system at all.

Oh it gets worse, because since most people gain 20 lbs when they stop, I have also put myself on a strict calorie count, I am working out every other day and I started running.. May as well do it all at once. I do have a beach trip, cruise and class reunion all with in the next 6 months

My poor husband... I am really trying to be aware if I am being snippy and walk away from the situation, or in this case not post, but I am not catching myself in time 100% of the time LOL

I will not say I quit until I hit the 6 month mark, which just happens to be when I get on the Magic :goodvibes:goodvibes For now I have stopped.. For some reason this seems easier to say...

Anyway this was meant as a apology not as a looky what I did thread so.. If I have offended or appeared bitc** I am sorry and hopefully this will pass soon.

Thanks for understanding and letting me stay in the cool kids club (you are aren't you?)

Good luck in your journey!

I admire your efforts, and I don't think you were snippy to me, but if you were I forgot about it already...it's one of the best things about being 40...you're more relaxed and more forgetful!:)

I didnt notice any tone. But good luck. If I did it anyone can. Hang in there. I also joined a quit message board so I had people to talk me off the ledge. :rotfl: It has been just over 5 years now.

just remember to read before you post and make sure you say what you mean... quiting sounds easy, but it is not

Thank goodness you finally noticed and said something. I was getting ready to have a talk with you. :rotfl: JUST JOKING!

Good luck!

Having given up smoking over 9 years ago and dipping(smokeless tobacco)
over 5 years ago, I can say keep up the good work and hang in there. I have no desire to do either and I actually Hate, despise, loathe and can't stand the smell of people smoking. Keep the exercise and watch the eating and you will do even better. Just wanted to say congratulations on your decision.
:cool1::dance3::banana::woohoo:

BTW when I was giving up dipping (which was harder to me than smoking was) my DW told me after that at one point she was ready to go to the store and buy me a dozen cans before she had to do something drastic. :lmao:
If I did it anyone can. I smoked since I was about 12 maybe even earlier.

Laurabearz put a ticker in her signature about how long she's been without cigarettes, AND it tallies the amount of money she's saved without buying any!

I should ask her to share that with you.

Big  for you! I think I would be snippy too with all that going on !!

Congratulations on what you have achieved so far - that is amazing :thumbsup2

Thats what I love about the boards - you can always come here to vent and someone will always be here to mop up the tears, make you laugh or just give you a hug :goodvibes

Wish you the best of luck! Quitting smoking isn't easy. Cutting out soda and doing a diet at the same time definitely isn't easy! My hat goes off to you!! I hope to quit smoking on my Disney trip in 2 weeks. I came close to quitting on my last trip. Made it 1/2 the week. Not sure yet if I'm going to do it cold turkey, the patch, or chantix. I have an app on my iPhone that will show me how much $ I save once I quit. You just enter the price/pack, how much you smoke a day and the day you quit. It's amazing how fast it can add up.

A huge congrats.
I too am one of those "if I can do it anyone can" people.

I wish you all the best in your journey to good health. It is the best gift you can give yourself.

Thank's everyone for the understanding, the posts here and the PM's..

I promise to ask for help if I start to slip... Tonite was a big deal, I made it 45 minutes on our elliptical. 3 weeks ago I couldn't make 5 minutes!!! :thumbsup2

and besdie yours health #1 best thing, Oh my gosh, you are going to be soo rich too !!! good for you!

I think most non-cruisers have been getting a bit on edge, me included, feeling a bit left out and all.

Don't worry, you are doing a great job!

Congratulations! Giving up cigarettes is the hardest thing I have ever done. I went from being a chain smoker to quiting cold turkey 20 years ago, so I feel your pain.

At the price of cigarettes today, you can probably take another trip to WDW or another Disney Cruise every year. :rotfl:
