Thankful, wishful CHANGING plans! NOV '12 PTR, Packing, shopping & last minute plans

That looks like an awesome view. I'm hoping we can eat outside there at some point. :goodvibes

We need to try new things. But I told Katie that meant we'd have to drop some old things. I was thinking of dropping Sci-Fi. But nooooo.... she wants no part of that. She said we could drop Akershus. She doesn't like the food. Sigh...... I'll probably give on that one. But maybe we'll stick with 2 visits to CRT. I can't let it all go at once you know! Besides, if I count $30 of her nuggets as the price of the lobby photo....... we're down to $30 nuggets. Sheesh..... this is still hard.

I wish I had another picture from inside, but you get the idea! :)

If you drop Akershus, then keeping CRT makes sense. What about 1900 Park Fare? Will that be up on the chopping block?

YOU TAKE THAT BACK! :lmao:

I probably should drop it though. We had so much fun there this last trip that it's straight downhill from there.

On our first trip, we ate at Chefs de France. We really enjoyed the meal- even if we didn't see Remy- but we know we want to try something new this year. My friend Shelley knew that her husband would NOT want to be as adventurous as we would be. This year though, we are excited to try something new!

Coral Reef: Now, I know that this place isn't adventurous, but the place would be a lot of fun for the girls. Cortlyn LOVED the Seas and "playing" with the fishes, so I'm sure she would love to eat here! :)

Le Cellier: I want to try this, because it seems like everyone raves about it. However, I feel like I can get a great steak anywhere… AND I am NOT spending 2 credits from our dinning plan. We'll come back to this idea…

Restaurant Marrakesh: My husband really wanted to try this place on our first trip. I like the idea of this place for sure!

Akershus: Well, GEE… I wonder why I'm considering this place… :rolleyes1 I know that Cortlyn and Catie will want to see the Princesses. And since I'm not 100% on CRT, this would be a good alternative, correct?

Akershus is a great 1 TS alternative to CRT. It even includes the photo package with only 1 credit. The only issue sometimes is the food selection. So I suggest going for breakfast, or at least carefully checking the menu to be sure there's something everyone will eat.

How about LeCellier for lunch so it's only 1 TS credit? Of course, that's hard to do if you just did breakfast at Akershus! If you're going to Epcot 2 days, it's a very doable plan. We just normally do Epcot 1 day.

Yeah… you hit the nail on the head with the Le Cellier issue.:confused3 I don't know how my days will be built yet… I have 6 day MYWT- and honestly, we may only do 5 days in the parks, since one of those days is Thanksgiving we may use that as a rest day.

Hi! :wave2: So, my job is obviously getting in the way of our Disney discussions since I had no idea you were so far into your planning!! I'll have to talk to my boss about that. "Oh, I didn't get that meeting scheduled for you? My bad. But you see, I've been helping my friend plan her Disney trip. What's that?...You don't pay me for that...? Well, dang."

Just FYI - I'm with the majority. I think considering the ages of Catie and Cortlyn, plus only being there 5 full days, PLUS it being a mad-crazy-busy holiday week...you'd be totally fine w/o the PH expense. Just my 2 cents. And since Brian and I are going to be living there by then (if I say it enough, it WILL come true), you will be visiting us on Thanksgiving Day, right?? :)

How much does Cortlyn like fish/aquariums? Althought it was a LONG time ago on our honeymoon, the food was decent at Coral Reef, I thought. Not excellent, but good enough. The atmosphere was very cool though. Cramped a little but a cool experience. And you know my love for Le Cellier. I take some offense to your "great steak anywhere" comment. I'm definitely in the pro-Le Cellier camp on this one. Did I tell you how much we LOVED Rose and Crown in October? Well, we did. Have you thought about that one? We sat outside during Illuminations and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! :cheer2:

I'll give my 2 cents on Le Cellier.....don't waste your money/credit. We ate there last April and it was so salty...and I LOVE salty foods, but it was beyond too much salt.
Now if you want to try it just to do so, go for it, as I wanted to, but I won't be back. I have read many reviews that said the same thing, but then I have read many that say they love it too, so maybe it has to do with who is cooking that day?
We like arkershus, I do think they had kid friendly items. I liked what I had, but it is a little different than your everyday food. I do want to try coral reef myself.
And via napoli...and about 30 other places! :rotfl2:

Well, Unless you and Brian ARE in fact living there and can come over to the resort and watch the girls, I want a dinner that the girls will enjoy. And I think that they would really enjoy the aquariums. Remember- we were leaving EPCOT when you went to dinner and she was starting to have a meltdown. But then we went into the Seas and it gave her new energy and we got to stay for Illuminations! :goodvibes

Via Napoli sounds good too. I forgot to put that on my short list. I actually meant to while I was writing! :rolleyes1

We are hoping to try Coral Reef in Dec also. My oldest really wants to eat here.

Le Cellier: I want to try this, because it seems like everyone raves about it. However, I feel like I can get a great steak anywhere… AND I am NOT spending 2 credits from our dinning plan. We'll come back to this idea…

This was originally on our short list, but it has since been nixed. I think I just really want the Cheddar Cheese soup, luckily I think they sell that at F&W so I can try it when we go in Oct.

Restaurant Marrakesh: My husband really wanted to try this place on our first trip. I like the idea of this place for sure!

I also looked at this place and am so back and forth on it. Some of the food I just dont think my kids would enjoy. I think the bellydancing show would be fun. I have heard pretty good things about this place.

Akershus: Well, GEE… I wonder why I'm considering this place… :rolleyes1 I know that Cortlyn and Catie will want to see the Princesses. And since I'm not 100% on CRT, this would be a good alternative, correct??

We are hoping to eat here for bkfst also.

I got through you whole trip report! I live not far from you!!!! I am in the Fort up north! Maybe we have your Georgia transplant self to thank for our super mild winter.....I thank you! ;)

Plans sound great so far! I agree with skipping the hopper. Unless you get free dining, then I would splurge just because you can eat where ever you want, unless you want to eat in each park. It is nice when you are there at a really busy time to have the option to switch parks if the one your at is overly FULL!

I don't know how you manage those sit down meals with 2 little ones. I would not even TRY and do the regular dining plan until my littles is at least 3. I can't imagine trying to plan when they would want to eat everyday and waht they would want. :) I like the flexability of QSDP. Still lots of GREAT food options and on our schedule! I know there are LOADS of great restaurants there though. It will make our trips when the kids are a bit older NEW and interesting!

I hope you stay dry today is has been raining for what seems like forever......I HATE mud. And Mud LOVES my dog!!! ;(

Funny, my DH is Corey to....with an E. Everyone always trys to leave the E out.

Awe! You are quite welcome for me bringing my mild winter up here to share with so many!! :rotfl:

We did TS for breakfast on our last trip and it worked out great. Cortlyn eats ANYTHING and everything, so its not hard to make her happy!

Joining in!

We are planning to eat at Coral Reef this time mainly for the atmosphere. I think you should definitely do Akershus, we had a great time. The food was pretty good, it was 1 credit, the princesses were fun and I'm pretty sure the photo was included.

You aren't too far from me either. I live west of Toledo. It's about 1 1/2-2 hours to Fort Wayne I think. We sometimes go to the zoo there for something different.

Sweet! I remember following your TR a year or two ago! ;) We want to try adn get to the Toledo Zoo this summer!

My oldest eats EVERYTHING too! My son is SUPER picky. Just goes to show that a picky eater is BORN not created. WE did all the same stuff. Although he is getting better since about the time he turned 4. ;)

HS and AK are fairly simple to me when it comes to meals in my opinion. IF the characters at Hollywood and Vine are worth it to my girls, then we will consider a breakfast there. And at AK, my husband will not even consider a day there without Tusker House. :lovestruc We LOVED that meal! And we had a great time in their character spot.

As for Resort Dining

1900 Park Fare. The problem here will be choosing which meal. I LOVED the breakfast and of COURSE Mary Poppins! :goodvibes But we could do the dinner with Cindy.

Hoop Dee Doo Okay, well, I'm putting this on here, but I read this week that HDDR is going to be closed during our trip. I was considering this for our Thanksgiving meal! :upsidedow

Spirit of AlohaI would love to do this, but I'm not sure Catie would be as into this.

Cape May Cafe would love to do the clambake!!

Whispering Canyon CafeI've heard this is a lot of fun. I have friends that say this is a must do every trip for them- and they go quite a bit. :)
