We can say "menorah" and "dreidel" now! It really is difficult not being able to say key words relating to your holiday celebration while watching fellow players wear Santa hats through the kingdom

Thank you for givng us these words. It may seem little, but it's really cause to celebrate!!!

Thanks! (moment of silence for "dry.dull" and "me.nor.ah" :rotfl: )

I don't celebrate Chaunnukah (sp?), but I'm very happy that VMK listened to the various "Hey, where's my holiday?"s. I mean, it's almost the same in the parks.. Chaunnukah is celebrated, but it's only like, say a little corner hidden behind a huge Santa at the end of the Osbourne Lights for example. I think that VMK as well as all Disney parks should do a better job of celebrating other faiths... but that's just me :teeth:

I could not agree more. I think it is very important in a game that has SO many kids, that words which allow players to celebrate their holidays and is very important.

Great step in the right direction vmk!

hooray!!!! now all we need is kannarah (sp.??? the thing you light for kwanzah), and the word merry so we don't have to say "happy christmas" anymore........ although we could do w/o merry bc that could quickly lead somewhere bad! anyways, i think they need to have something out for ALL the winter holidays. a light up dreidel would be awesome!!!!!

'Bout time we have a bit of variety 'round here.

That's wonderful news! I'm sure those who celebrate different holidays will be thrilled that VMK is starting to recognize other faiths. But what I wonder is, Santa isn't part of any religion I know about; where is the baby Jesus halo hats and the Dwhali festival lights? :confused3 I actually think that adding things like that could start alot of arguments between players of different religions, but the new words are an exception. Maybe they ought to add a few other cultures' holiday words, it certainly is great progress their making. :)

I just wanted to say that while Santa may not be part of the religious observations of Christmas, he definitely IS part of the celebration of a Christian holiday. As a Jewish kid growing up we were very aware that Santa did not visit our house because we did not celebrate Christmas.

While I have bought Santa hats in vmk for trading purposes, you most likely will not see little Jegrezo wearing one. When I see everyone else wearing one it is very much an exclusionary piece of clothing. Santa is part of Christmas.

I know that these discussions for some reason can trigger "buttons." I want to state fullheartedly that I am not attacking Sparky in any way, shape, or form. I am just sharing a differing view on the symbolism of a Santas hat.

And I could not agree with Sparky more that it is wonderful that VMK (Disney) is beginning to recognize other holidays along with Christmas. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Just sharing my views,
Disney Dreams

Let's hope for some fun Channukah items! (fingers crossed)

How about a Jewish star hat with ears? :)
