Thank you Podcast Team and the Disboards!

I want to give a great big THANK YOU! to the podcast team and to the Disboards. I am a Junior/Senior (graduating 2011) in the field of Special Education and for a final we had to do a project on how Assistive Technology can be used with those who have disabilities. I chose to focus on how Disney has accommodated those with disabilities and their use of assistive technology. I found all the information that I needed from this site and different boards within and I just cannot thank you enough. The organization and ease of finding everything that I needed help greatly. I emailed Disney directly and asked if I could get a Disabilities guide mailed to me so that I can further show my class and the response I got was, "everything you need is on our website". Checked the website for the disabilities guide and nothing! Disney's website is so difficult to find information on! I also learned a lot from listening to the Podcasts, there is just so much information that I unfortunately had to condense some of it so I could present with in my time frame, but I encouraged everyone in my class to come and check it out for themselves.

Once again thank you so much for all that you do and the information you provide us with! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on the Podcast cruise I cannot wait!

Is it December yet?

Congrats on getting your project done with the comprehensive info found here!

Disney is notorious for having hard to navigate websites. I'm not surprised you found nothing helpful.

If you would PM me your email address I think I have the disability guides on my computer.

Good for you! As a mom of a son with special needs, I also had to find needed info from other sites and books other than Disney. I did get a Disabilities Guide and although it was somewhat helpful, it was nothing compared to the info you get from people who live it and have experienced it.

Best of luck on your future in Special Education!

I chose to focus on Disney because my local amusement park has no ride attractions that allow for those in wheelchairs to ride. All of the attractions call for transferring from a wheelchair to the ride vehicle and while most of all of the queue lines are handicapped accessible, not all off them are, even some of the exits have stairs so those in wheelchairs could not enter. I think this is such a shame.
