Thank you for the new magnet, but...

...How do I get this damn glue off so I can use it?

Has anyone been successful in getting the glue of the back the DVC magnet? What did you do?

I scraped off as much as I could. Got really angry at their adhesive choice, and just stuck it to my fridge with sticky stuff left on it. I’ve never encountered such horrible “removable sticky stuff” before.

I also stuck it on the fridge, after removing as much adhesive as I could through scraping. Honestly, I do not care enough about it to purchase an adhesive remover. If DVC wants its members to advertise their product, then DVC can send something of better quality.

To get the glue off, buy basically the same thing in a gift shop for $12.95 (minus the uber-generous 20% of course). I have to admit, that is one impressive adhesive...

Goo gone and lots of elbow grease and the glue is gone. I have never encountered glue like that in my life :)

This has been a common theme on a couple of threads. Like others, I didn't want to mess with Goo Gone (at least one report that it removed the magnetic covering), so I scraped off what I could then put a thin piece of paper over the spot. Plenty of surface to hold the magnet to our fridge. Nice gesture but not well designed for use. Save me money and cut my dues instead! pirate:

My DH said that they mailed out the defective ones with the crazy adhesive to the members as a "gift". We also didn't get one, but I honestly do not care. DVC is ticking me off right now, so I have no desire to show my "pride". If I do ever get one, I am happy to mail it on to another member who was missed. I wouldn't hold my breath that one is coming to my house though...

I just tore off a small piece of paper and stuck it over the area with the glue and then popped it on the frig. My husband took a knife and scraped it off his magnet.

That is some sticky glue. I picked at it for at least 20 minutes to get the glue off. I thought I was the only one.

Like others have said, that is some kind of adhesive! I also used Goo-Gone which did take some of the magnetic coloring off but still sicks to the fridge just fine!
