Returned Saturday night from a quick trip inspired by the budget tips and savings found here. So, I just wanted to say thank you to the board for the following things:
1) Convention Tickets: I used a 2 day park hopper plus i read about here. Purchased through disney and had no problems using it. Used the plus at DQ.
2) Thrifty Blue Chip and Carrentals.com. I paid $52, all inclusive for a 3 day rental from Thrifty (COmpact). I arrived and there was about a 30 minute wait at the normal line, no one in the bLue Chip line - I was on my way in a brand new car in less than 5 minutes.
3) The Earl of Sandwich. Great food at a great price.
4) Timing - when to go. I felt like I had the parks to myself last Thursday (MK/MGM) and Friday (AK/EP).
5) Priceline - well, I knew about this already, but still a budget tip that works well each time - stayed at the Sheraton Studio City for $41/night.
6) Luggage - since it was a short trip, i only used a carryon - the free one from Chadwicks, found through this board.
7) Shoes - walking shoes from Reebok, bougt for the $25 donation to the AHA as I found out here last summer.
Overall had a great time on a quick solo trip and am looking forward to going again in August with my DS (8) for our annual trip (that is if airfares come down a bit!).
(edited to add a couple things i forgot about!)
Thanks everyone!
