Well vacation is officially over. We just arrived home today.
I want to thank you all for the support I have gotten from you all since I joinned this website and for giving me a shoulder to whine on and a kick in the butt when I needed it, mostly over the last year.
Thank you to all the volunteers on the course over the weekend, oranges, cookies, pretzels, licorice etc all awesome.
I had quite the weekend, as you have all heard me complain about my bone spurs in my heels have been extremely painful but I decided since I paid for these races to give it a go. Sat morning I go out and do the 1/2, I won't complain about the conditions as we all had to deal with it. After the race was over we went for breaky with Roger and CJ and I could barely walk, my feel hurt so much, we get back to the hotel on Sat afternoon and I decide that it is just too painful, I am not doing goofy....so I have a good cry and my awesome husband just holds me till I get it out of my system. I toyed with cutting off my wrist band but changed my mind.
Sunday morning, I wake up can hardly walk but I am going to cheer on my teammates and of course my DH. I am all dressed in street clothes, make up etc. 5 mins before we walked out the door I decide, I need to try, I have to try. WELL, race was going well, a bit painful but actually not as bad as I was expecting. Mile 13, I run in the bushes for a potty break and step in a creek right up to my ankles....I am done both feet soaked.....no way to walk the balance of the race with wet feet...well I think that helped cause it numbed my feet for awhile and I only got 1 blister between my big toe, and I am going to lose that nail but that is OK well worth it.
Thank you all for being that little voice in my head, telling me I can do this!!!!!
You are all awesome!!!!
