Well vacation is officially over. We just arrived home today.

I want to thank you all for the support I have gotten from you all since I joinned this website and for giving me a shoulder to whine on and a kick in the butt when I needed it, mostly over the last year.

Thank you to all the volunteers on the course over the weekend, oranges, cookies, pretzels, licorice etc all awesome.

I had quite the weekend, as you have all heard me complain about my bone spurs in my heels have been extremely painful but I decided since I paid for these races to give it a go. Sat morning I go out and do the 1/2, I won't complain about the conditions as we all had to deal with it. After the race was over we went for breaky with Roger and CJ and I could barely walk, my feel hurt so much, we get back to the hotel on Sat afternoon and I decide that it is just too painful, I am not doing goofy....so I have a good cry and my awesome husband just holds me till I get it out of my system. I toyed with cutting off my wrist band but changed my mind.

Sunday morning, I wake up can hardly walk but I am going to cheer on my teammates and of course my DH. I am all dressed in street clothes, make up etc. 5 mins before we walked out the door I decide, I need to try, I have to try. WELL, race was going well, a bit painful but actually not as bad as I was expecting. Mile 13, I run in the bushes for a potty break and step in a creek right up to my ankles....I am done both feet soaked.....no way to walk the balance of the race with wet feet...well I think that helped cause it numbed my feet for awhile and I only got 1 blister between my big toe, and I am going to lose that nail but that is OK well worth it.

Thank you all for being that little voice in my head, telling me I can do this!!!!!

You are all awesome!!!!

You are the one who is awesome for having the courage to go forward after you thought you couldn't, and then finding out that you could go farther than you thought possible.

Great job on working through your issues!

Glad to chat with you after the races and see you home safe!

I'm so happy it worked out for you. I saw you at various points of the race and knew you were going to finish. You just seemed so determined. Congratulations!!!! You did it!

You are living proof that we are so much stronger than we think we are. I'm so impressed and proud of you! :worship::worship::worship:

Congratulations! Make no mistake though, there were plenty of us all along who knew you would do it. In this case, the only thing needed was for you to be one of them, and I am glad to see you stuck it out :)

Kim What a trooper! You're living proof that this whole running thing is at LEAST 50% or more a mental game. You perservered when most others would have given up or never even started.

Congrats!

Maura

You looked awesome out on the course Kim. It was so great leap frogging with you the last few miles. Even though I think at times you were walking as fast as I was running, lol. You looked beautiful and strong all the way to the end.

Thanks Maura and Katie!!!!

Maura: I think you are totally right, I was convinced that since I couldn't even walk to the bathroom there was no way I was even going to try but something inside me told me I would always regret it if I didn't give it a go.

Katie: Yes it was great seeing you on the course, always helps to have some friends along those last few miles. Man are they long.....I never though the finish line would come. Always picks up my spirits seeing fellow friends along along the course!!!!

I also forgot to mention the funniest part. Coming through by MGM...sorry I know it is now the studios but I like MGM. I felt like I had something stuck inbetween my big toe so I had to stop for a minute and get at it, my hands where so swollen I could not even undo my laces, luckily my awesome DH was with me and undid my shoe realized it was a blister put my shoe back on and did up my laces....some guy ran by and laughed and said it must be nice to have your own pit crew:lmao: DH was both my pit crew and shirpa (sp).

Kim - Congrats on finishing both races! :cheer2: Especially after stepping into the creek. I probably would have cried and quit right there. I'm going to remember your story the next time I feel like there's something I can't do.
