Oh I know. I have to laugh because everytime we ahve a heat wave....um EVERY YEAR... there are the obligatory stories about how people cope in the heat. Geesh. The info about cooling centers and shuttles for the elderly is great, but do we really need to interview sweaty people and ask them if they are hot???

I am soooooo laughing about that statement.......every few hours they will say......oh wow it is 95 degrees out and the humdiity is this and that.....well YAH we know that.......that is why we are in the house if we can help it and staying with the ac on........

GOOD INFO ON TELLING ELDERLY and those with problems to try to go to the malls and stay in ac areas.....

haha I work for the city, and this morning they emailed out an advisory about the heat and to make sure that everyone drank enough water and to get into the air conditioning whenever possible. It was just so funny because the main people who work in the heat don't have city email. Also, I'm pretty sure they "get" that it's hot outside. I'm sure they're sitting around, drinking coffee, waiting to get an advisory from the city to tell them it's hot and to drink water. It was just ridiculous, and we kept laughing about it all day.

I think all the sothern states are sweltering. Wierd weather this year I tell you. We had a cold snap in MAY! I am usually able to get into my pool by the last week of april this year it was June before we could stand to get in it. Then it went for mid to upper 80's to Upper 90's over night.

BREAKING NEWS - it was hot in NC today, too!!!! One of the top stories on our local news was, "If you use deodorant will you interfere with nature's cooling process?" I kid you not - they interviewed a doctor (maybe a PA) outside a Doc in the Box - his professional opinion was that it was OK to use deodorant.

Oh, and most heat escapes through the top of your head, so if you wear a hat, take it off and you'll be cooler. That giant wet spot under the hat is a big clue...
