Thank goodness for the 'Ignore' option here on the DIS

For the second time since I have been here on the DIS, I am using the Add XXX poster to Your Ignore List. Back some time ago, I used it for a clod, who thankfully, after getting the boot numerous times, is now, as far as I know, gone. (Thanks, Pete and WM's)

And now, another, who, though not quite as mean and hurtful as the other guy, is nonetheless relentless in his/her badgering of people here, trolling. There are a handful of posters who, in practice, I ignore, though just skipping over their threads or posts, their not being mean or hurtful, but rather mostly just crude. Most often that other type, the mean and hurtful, gets the quick boot. But this one seems to be around, like dog **** on your shoes.

Thanks that the 'Ignore' is an option here on the DIS, so useful when needed.

I'm a fan of "Ignore" too Dan, when encessary.

Like you, I have only found it to be necessary a few times since I discovered this site.

I think you and I probably ignored the same "clod" a while back!!!!

My guess is that I'll soon be noticing the new "troll" you refer to, and I'll be "Ignoring" him/her too!!!!!

What is the function of that button?

their post won't show, their name will, but you can't see the post unless you open it. It will show up if someone quotes their post however.

I've had to use it on occasion

I have never used that feature............Lord knows if I KNEW it was there, it might of kept ME out of some trouble last summer!! Hey Dan, think you can give a "lesson" on how to use this feature?? I can think of someone right off the top of my head I would like to ignore!!

I too have had to use the ignore button on occasion
I wish their names still didnt show up when the threads were open though

I think if they PM you, it gets sent back to them with a notice that they are on your ignore list.

I've never used the function and am surprised to see that Dan is - he is so easy going. Someone must have really bugged him.
