To you get charging roaming fees for any cell phone texting? Or is it your regular text fees. Does the fees differ between texting locally (Florida) or texting back home. Bell Mobility is my cell provider.

No roaming charges but you need to call them that you want 100 texting in the states package. It's ten bucks. I do this every time I go to Disney or Vegas.

I am with Bell Mobility and I always purchase the 100 text message package when I am in the United States and it works out well, because I always send out a lot to my friends who live in Orlando and to my friends back in Toronto.

DH and I don't have a text plan (we're with Bell) and get charged 30 cents for each text sent and received while at WDW. For us this is cheaper than getting a package, and no roaming charges. The Bell agent told me that this would be the case across Canada, US and Mexico.

When were you last charged 30 cents a text message? I understand all carriers now charge 60 cents a text and that has come from the U.S. carriers, not Canadian.

So even if my kids have unlimited texting they will still be charged 60 cents for each message sent but nothing to receive? Is that what i'm understanding from Bell's website?? :confused3

Yes they will. I also have unlimited texting and since the plan is not good while I am in the United States, that's why I get the American texting plan.

Early October. We only used this a couple of times and so we noticed the charges, and they were only 30 cents each. When did this change?

Tinkershelly,

It changed in the spring if not before. My parents and a friend were all charged 60 cents per text.

It is great if you were only charged 30 cents. Maybe the East Coast is special :)

We are with Virgin Mobile and when we were in the states in Dec we were charged 30 cents per text. Virgin charges 30 cents for every text sent but nothing to receive a text. Yes we do have unlimited texting as well. However I have read that some companies charge for both sent and received texts. That is why they are getting charged 60 cents per text.

Thats a good question. I havent gotten my bill yet. But my DH and I were on the phone with Virgin before we left and that is just what we were us both. (We have only been with virigin since mid Nov). I guess I will have to wait till my bill to be sure.

At least Bell has that US texting plan which you can purchase and won't be charged 60 cents each time.

When I was in WDW in May, texting from the US was included in my plan with TELUS and cost me nothing extra.

I also can not find it, however if you call them up they will be able to tell you about it. I have purchased it on my previous vacations to WDW and always called them to order it.
