Well, it might not look like a lot of snow to our Northern friends, but this was a blizzard for us! My kiddo and his buddies had a blast sledding in the backyard today. That hill's a lot steeper than it looks in the photo, they were using plastic sleds, skateboards with the wheels removed, and huge boxes to slip and slide around.

I sure hope school is back in session on Monday... it's been a long week here!

I think it looks like a lot of fun...it's easy for us northerns to smirk but I know my kids went outside today with boots, snowpant, neckwarmer, toque (winter hat), and warm, waterproof mitts. All you Texans made do with shoes & what we would consider spring jackets and made the best of it. :thumbsup2

I have not left the house since Monday afternoon. With four kids stuck at home, too, "stir crazy" does not even begin to describe it. We are bored out of our minds. The snow set in last night, so now we have four or five inches of snow over a few inches of ice. We here in north Texas are not prepared for this kind of weather. One of my sons does not even own a "big" coat, for Heaven's sake! No snow boots, our gloves are for decoration ;), and our tires have never seen a chain.

My hat is certainly off to those who live like this several months out of the year! For me, bring on the heat!

Except for a couple of days around New years, we have had snow on the ground since the beginning of December.
We usually get a January thaw, not this year. Its been below freezing for the better part of 2 now going on 3 months.

I watched some guy snowboard behind a jeep down my road yesterday and that was before this morning's snow arrived. The ice was so thick that it looked like an ice skating rink. Too bad I don't own a pair of skates, I could have had some fun this week.

Anyone from N.Texas think this is becoming the norm? We had some snow last Dec-Feb (I recall last Feb 14 we had a lot of snow). Although it's worse this year. Anyone think it's just going to get worse each year? Should we plan on this type of weather to strike again next Jan/Feb?

It started here in Nov...and same thing no thaws at all...we got another foot during the big storm. I'm so ready for spring this year.

Yep.....I put up with 97 degrees so I do not have to put up with 17 degrees!

I've had enough. I did get 2 extra days off this week because of the snow, but I am ready for my normal schedule. And these kids definitely need to go back to school! :rotfl2:
