Texas is a big state, so there must be some. Although I think we're probably the only ones South of Corpus. Any others in Texas? It would be great to finally meet some others from down here.

Well, my DW and I aren't official members yet, we are waiting to close at BWV's but I think we meet the intent of your post. We live in Austin and are avid WDW fans, we are planning on introducing our DD to WDW in september.

We live in Missouri City--a suburb of Houston.

We bought last March at BCV and just added on at BWV!! :D

I got married in March and moved from Florida to
Texas. H is becoming DH (his choice!!!) and S (10) &
D (11) are becoming DS & DD. They surprise me by finding
"hidden" Mickey's around the house and they like
making Mickeys with their Eggo's!

Used to go the World 2 times a month. What an adjustment
to only once a year! Thank God for the Boards!!!

Great to see several replies already. We are native Texans and recent DVCers. We bought at the BCV last July and will take our first trip home in December. We have 3 DDs (6, 4, 1).

We have been only twice before, but are excited about making more regular visits. I just wish that the flights were a bit cheaper from DFW area. Without competition from SW, the flights aren't as cheap as from many other areas.

pixiedustforever- Welcome to the Lone Star State and Fort Worth! It will be tough to adjust to being farther from DisneyWorld.

Hello from Rowlett, TX--a suburb of Dallas. We own at OKW and will be in Orlando in July, November and then again June '04.

We live in Denison and have ownd at BW for over 5 years and you can tell by my user name where I went to college.

Katy, TX. Suburb just west of Houston. Members since 11/01.

We just got back from BCV (5/4 - 5/10) and had a great time. We drove there again. This is our fourth time to hop in the car and drive for about 18 hrs each way. How many others drive to WDW from Texas?

Austin! Members for about a month now.

We plan on driving for at least these first 2 trips. First should be easy - the kids aren't going. However we'll be traveling with DS7 and DD5 for our 2nd trip...

Round Rock, TX here. Suburb of Austin. We bought last year when BCV opened. We'll be making our second trip home for Christmas/New Years.

We haven't been brave enough to try the drive yet with our 17yo and 11yo. I don't work during the summer so we've thought about it but DH can't take off work longer to include a drive. We always stay 15 days. Maybe the kids and I will try someday and husband can fly out to meet us.

Dallas DVCer's here. Our first trip ever (it's just DH and I--no kids after 15 years of wedded bliss) was last May. Needless to say we were hooked. We purchased at BCV in July--sight unseen! We added on at HH this past March. We have returned to the World six times since that first visit last May! I am blessed to work for the very best airline in the world and that allows us frequent visits!! We just returned from the Disney Magic 7 night cruise too! People at work think we are weirdos.....

Granbury to be precise.

Recently bought BCV. Staying CBR in June, then our first trip home December 28-Jan 4.:Pinkbounc

We have been DVC owners at VWL since May 2001 and live in the DFW area. We have made 2 trips "home" since joining and will be making another next June.

Gig'em Aggies!

Another from Fort Worth! We bought at BCV Feb. 2002 and had our first trip home last October.

We drove for the first time in December. And we loved it!! DS10-said he never wanted to fly again. We drove straight through. We left at 4am and arrived at 8pm. I drove 4 hours. DD16 drove 4 hours and DH drove 7 hours.

I thought I would be really tired at 6am the next morning when we woke up to check in at BC, BUT I was less tired. I think being able to move around in the car and stopping every 4 hours for a potty break really helped. We have 2 portable DVD players that really made the time pass.

Flying really only saves us about 6 hours. When you consider the drive time to the airport, arriving 2 hours early, layover at another airport, getting bags, getting rental car and getting to resort.

We plan on driving for the next few years. I'm sure it will get old after awhile.
