Hi guys,

I have a dinner reservation for Terralina in a few weeks. I've been seeing tons of reviews lately which are not that great. To me, it looks like it's similar to Olive Garden with a nicer rustic look. Am I correct?

I'm also looking at reviews for the Edison which started out horrible but are now getting better. I was able to book a reservation on Open Table. For those of you who have done one or both, which one should we do? Thanks.

DDP or not? The answer really DOES make a difference :(. Trying to help, but need to understand your situation?

I haven’t been to either but I would definitely try the Edison. My understanding is that Terralina is a rebranding of the old Potobello, which I did not love.

No dining plan.
EXCELLENT.....

BEST, REAL Italian Restaurant on property is Il Mulino - SWAN Hotel.
BEST, REAL Steak and/or Lobster - Shula's - DOLPHIN Hotel.

Both locations on the WDW bus route, or the EPCOT-DHS Boat Route. No DDP - TIW accepted :). BOTH locations may be booked on MDE, OR "Open Table".

BOTH stunning. We visit each, twice per year - 12 years. Having been raised Sicilian? I'll personally vouch for Il Mulino as being the REAL DEAL, if seeking great Itallian food. Terralina? We don't go there. Went to Portabello's a few times, It was "ok", but we found Il Mulino to be STUNNING.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Couldn’t have said it better myself! We always stay at BWV and these are absolutely the best Italian/steakhouse options on property.

I am always surprised that people suggest going to shulas or il molino. I used to work in both resorts at an unaffiliated location (not for the hotel but inside ) and they were so dirty. Roaches every where and trash thrown back stage on the floors. Ugh. I would use the guest lobby bathrooms and there would be 5 or 6 tiny baby roaches on the floors and walls.

I have not been to either, but heard the same of Terralina. I have a reservation for Edison around the same time because we felt it was the more unique restaurant and newer.

Eeeeewwww. Did you see the roaches in Il Mulino or at the resort? and was this recent? So much for that.

I'm thinking the Edison would be a little more interesting.

It was in the resort in general (but if they are in the lobby then chances are good they are other places). The Dolphin was worse than the Swan. It was a year and a half ago.

Yeah I did read somewhere that there was a bit of problem at the hotel a while ago. I would never eat there now. That would seal it for me. This is worse than mice for me because roaches multiply quickly. Even I've had an occasional field mouse in the house at least a couple of times over the years because they come in from outside but a roach is just over the line for me. :crazy2: I know the Swan had a kitchen closed because of both both live and dead roaches that were found there by a health inspector.

It's the same company (and same company as Paddlefish too) but with a totally different Executive Chef, who revamped the menu. I ate at Terralina and thought it was delicious.

I haven't eaten at the Edison because I haven't heard great things about the food. However it has a great ambiance.
