So I just wanted to share some real quick updates. There is nothing major going on here but a few decisions have been made and we learned about 2 very pleasant things.
1.Greg's daughter Emma has agreed to be my flower girl.
This is a very big deal because I have yet to meet her in person as she is in Chicago. Emma will turn 9 in a couple of weeks and I remember being this age with divorced parents and it was rather difficult. I have met her on skype and talked to her but needless to say I was anticipating more resistance from her. It would not be a surprise if she was upset her daddy is getting re-married and moving away. She already knew he was moving to Texas we told her that early on and then we waited to tell her about the wedding. When we told her though she smiled and I told her "that means I get to be your step mom" and she laughed (in my head I wanted to say...and NOT like cinderella's stepmother). Then I asked her if she would be my flower girl and she said yes then we told her where the wedding was which of course got a smile. She has been to Disney World a lot of times so it was not that surprise like you see on TV when kids find out they are going to Disney World but I am sure she is just as excited. So this is good news for us because we have the support of his daughter.
This is all kinds of funny because my Dad is actually getting married AGAIN for the 4th time in April and this is the first time since the 2nd marriage of my mom that I am willing to stand up at the wedding...speaking of I need to get a dress for that.
2. My brother says my youngest nephew should be allowed to come to the wedding with no problems.
My brother got divorced maybe a year and a half ago and his ex wife is very possessive of their son. Luke just turned 2 at the beginning of January and he is obsessed with Cars. He is a pretty awesome kid I just hardly ever see him due to his psychotic mother. Anyway...I was really concerned she would not let him come to the wedding because we would be taking him out of state and away from her. I asked my brother if he has asked Liz if he can take him to the wedding. My brother said it should not be a problem at all. I told him I was planning on Luke being a ring bearer and that I want to find a stuffed lightening mcqueen or fillmore for him to carry down the aisle. My brother liked that idea. So it looks like I will have my two ring bearers.
Part of me is actually thinking of turning Emma and Nathan my oldest nephew into a mini maid and a mini groomsman. Nathan really does not want to be a ring bearer and I am not going to have Emma in a flower girl dress she was going to be a in a mini maids dress from alfred angelo anyway. Thoughts?
3. We decided on linens for the reception.
We got the samples from Connie Duglin Linen and we put together different combinations with my mom and finally settled on one. Here is the link to the site so you can try to imagine what I am about to say
www.connieduglinlinen.com
Tablecloth :Ivory provided by fulton's
Table overlay: Crushed Romance Purple/Teal
Chair Covers: Solid Color fabric in Marina
Napkins: solid color fabric in marina
Since we are not going to have a head table greg and I decided our chair covers and napkins would be different so...
Chair Covers: Crushed Romance Peacock
Napkins: Crushed Romance Peacock
also perhaps we will have a sash of purple teal added with a peacock feather tied in the sash.
Ok so that is all I have for now.
