Tequila Tasting cancellations

A good friend is planning a trip late October and was shut out this morning for the $150 Tequila tasting in Mexico. Anyone have experience with success in finding a reservation via cancellation for this experience? Any luck with day-of walk ups?

I'm not sure. I know there have been a few days I've seen a "sandwich board" sign outside the entrance to La Cava (inside the pavilion) advertising the tasting so it might be possible. Wouldn't hurt to rope drop La Cava and ask the hosts. Also, can't guarantee they still monitor it, but when this was first introduced you had to email "lacava@palmasrestaurants.com" for reservations so you might try emailing and asking about the date you want. La Cava is also pretty active on twitter so that's another potential way to get in touch with them ahead of time. It sounds like fun - hope they get to do it!
